It has been shown there are problems with the latest update of iTunes and Windows computers. If you do not follow them exactly, you will just compound your problems. Once you do this, you should have no trouble having the phone recognized in iTunes.

Anyone else having trouble after the latest OS Security update 2012-004? Sinse I installed it, my iPad's (a 1 and 2) will not complete a sync with iTunes - I get "unkown error (1150)" each time.

I have a new IPad and want to sync it with ITunes on my computer. It says it's starting to sync, but nothing ever happens, it just stays there. My IPod syncs without problem, so why is the IPad not Syncing?

It is hard to tell why the iPad is not syncing.
Reboot the iPad, quit iTunes, restart your computer and try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I plug my ipad into the USB port on my lenovo PC but it doesn't recognize it. The PC DOES recognize my ipod which is an older version I've had for 5+ years and that syncs fine. I've uninstalled/reinstalled itunes with my McAfee virus protection turned off, I've restarted my laptop and my ipad and still...nothing will work. Brought it in to the Apple store today and after 2 and a half hours with an employee it still hasn't been resolved. They said they aren't trained enough in PCs to help. When you get back home, try different USB ports and/or different cables, just to rule out any mechanical issues.
Then try going into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile device service, apple application support. Then redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again. Sometimes there seems to be a driver issue, where the up to date driver doesn't install but iTunes thinks it's there. The easiest way to get it on your computer is to remove the programs that use it and reinstall iTunes, which will automatically reinstall the driver when you plug your iPad back in.

After installing iOS 7.1, my iPad 3 would not sync over wifi with my Imac running OS 10.6.8. To get it to sync I had to connect the iPad to the iMac using the USB. That worked, and since updating via USB my iPad now updates via wifi when iTunes is opened.

My iPad won't sync with iTunes

I'm trying to sync and back-up my first generation iPad to iTunes...and every time iTunes starts to sync the iPad gets "kicked off" -- it's no longer recognized by iTunes. I've tried rebooting my computer, doing the soft-reset of the iPad (hold down power button, let it fully shut down and restart it). Nothing seems to work.

I'm having the same, identical problem. It goes into step 2 (backing up process) then it goes back to step one (finding iPad) and it starts over again. It will just keep doing that for 3 or 4 times until it will say "iPad not found". This is so frustrating.

My touch was running fine until one day I found about 3gb occupied by 'other' space. I ended up restoring my ipod which took care of the problem, but created a new one in that the ipod will no longer sync anything from my itunes library. I have music set up to sync selected artists, and when I click the checkboxes to select my albums and artists to sync, the 'audio' bar fills up.
When I click 'apply', the 'starting sync' and progress bar pop up for like half a second then disappear. Same goes with photos, apps, podcasts, etc.

I hope someone can help. There was something wrong with my Ipad so I had to reset it back to the factory settings. Now the Ipad won't sync to Itunes and only factory installed apps will open. Does this mean that this Ipad is DOA and it is time for a new one? Or is there anything else I can do? It is a 1st generation Ipad.

if all that does not work you can always try to do a recovery mode restore back to factory settings and then set it up as a new device then try to redownlaod every thing again

There is definitely a problem with iTunes 10.5 and iOS 5.0 syncing correctly. I've seen lots of workarounds on the forums here. Just search for it and see if you can come up with something that works.
