IPAD2 very slow after IOS 8 upgrade

After IOS 8 upgrade many aplications ( Safari, Facebook, etc) load  very, very slow (comparing with 7 version) , with a significant delay of more than 10 seconds...
Who can I solve this problem? Any workaround?
PD
Apple should better test the software before delivering.
Thanks.

Here's the list of the most annoying issues that affect me since updating my iPad 2 64GB w/Cellular iPad to IOS 8:
EXTREMELY SLOW - When opening apps, or switching between them - We are talking just the built-in apps. Mail, Safari, Settings....
Extremely slow Wi-Fi AND broadband. The Wi-Fi is the worst though. Horrible. Page load times are 2 to 4x slower than my wife's iPad.
Battery life reduced by at least 25%. Used to make it all day long, now I am having to plug it in.
Heat - It is working so hard that the processor is heating up. That can't be healthy for it, and surely the majority of the power issues stem from this.
Copy/Paste not functioning correctly between browser windows. Oh this is frustrating. I just want to paste the URL of one website I am on to Facebook, for instance. Even though I COPY, it's pasting in info I clipped a earlier in the day to one browser tab, but if I open another one, it will paste the correct information. You never know what you are going to get.
Cannot post a photo to facebook by hitting the camera icon when leaving a reply or making a post (using web browser version)... It starts the upload, then just stops. I *CAN* go to photos, then SHARE it to facebook, but that doesn't allow me to post a photo along with a reply.
Multiple app crashes per day. This I can deal with. It's nothing new, it's just more frequent. Safari and Mail seem to be the major culprits. It wouldn't be so bad except it takes 2-4 seconds to reopen the crashed app. Sometimes as much as 10 seconds.
And that's just the annoying ones....

  • Ipad running slow after iOS 8 upgrade

Ipad mini is running extremely slow after upgrading to iOS 8.  Can I go back to the old iOS?  The speed of the current mini is useless.

No, you cannot downgrade iOS. Many, many people have reported similar issues and have been helped. If you are having specific problems, search the forums for similar issues already asked and answered, or post your own support request.

  • Is your App Store experience slow after iOS 6 upgrade?

Here are the scenarios I find to be very slow:
    1. going to update section and clicking on update all which will update 20+ apps at the same time and App Store becomes unusable
    2. Go to charts section and now select a category, you will see 3 columns of apps just try scrolling up/down on one of the columns. I find the UI to be very poorly responding to tracking my finger. This reminds me of using samsung galaxy tab 10.1 on android 3.x which had horrible UI responsiveness.
I'm on iPad 3rd generation. I didn't expect this iPad to buckle under these changes seems like the App Store needs more optimization a for sure.

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • Wifi very slow after iOS 6.1 upgrade

Per iOS 6.1 I had no problems with my phones wifi.  After the upgrade however the phone will connect to it but data transmission is extremely slow.  Speed tests show that my connection speed on wifi is under 2Mb as where before the upgrade it was around 30.  Mail will not download now either without turning off wifi and going to lte.  Have also noticed that lte will randomly turn off and go to 4g while I am using it.  The phone usually then goes to no signal and then back to full.

    My
    iPhone 4s
on ios 6.1 is so slow ..... I am getting irritated first time with apple product mainly after step up on ios 6. Everything works great in ios 5.1.1 .....
Please fix this I cant download movies from itunes It takes so much time.....

  • IPhone 4 is very slow after ios 7 update

Not sure what to do with my frustrations and know this is most probably not the correct forum for these types of issues. But how can a company release something that you cannot reverse out off -  with the new release making the phone virtually unusable.
If anyone from apple reads this please can you add me to the list of disgruntled customers who have no intention of upgrading to a new iphone but will be selling my phone and moving over to an android device.
Unless that is you allow customers to go back to the older ios version.
    Apple you amaze me.

    I have the same problem
    This is Pain!
My phone is so annoying now!
keyboard is not following, i am super man compared to how slow this phone is after update IOS 7.

    ipad2 useless after ios7 update
    - was once a beautiful friend!
    - Now after iso7 update,a fat annoying kid that refuse to listen and reply (seconds) after trying to tell it something.
Obviously Apple don't want us to use these devices anymore, so they gave us an ****** update.
    Sure seems like it !!
How naive do they think Apple users are?
Why ooo why did I trust apple and upgrade to ios7, makes me so sad!

  • 3GS incredibly slow after iOS 5 upgrade

    Hello Everyone
I accidentaly upgraded my 3GS to iOS yesterday... (not really, I just REALLY wanted Notification Center and iMessage) And now its INCREDIBLY slow. Switiching between pages is terrible, and anywhere text input is needed the keyboard lags like crazy! I do reckon it's because of the slower processor (my wife's iP 4 is FLYING in iOS 5), but I'm tired of having to wait about 5 seconds after I tap a letter for it to appear on screen.
Is there a way I can downgrade back to 4.3.5? My phone wasn't half as bad back then, and I really need the speed back (constantly emailing for work, etc..)
So please help me out if you can:)
    Thank You
    Juan Bernal

Try resetting it: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignoring the off slider that appears first), and release.  If that doesn't work, connect to iTunes, go to the Summary tab and Restore.

  • Iphone 4 slow after IOS 8 upgrade

I've upgraded my phone to IOS 8.0.2 and I've noticed a substantial decrease in both performance and ability to use SIRI.    Apps load incredibility slow and SIRI is painfully slow.    At least 8 seconds to load, and then another 8 to 10 to get the app or SIRI to do anything.     I've closed all the background applications and restarted the phone to no avail.    Can someone tell me why there is such a performance hit to the IP4?

That's the answer?   Really?  Downgrade?   Are you kidding me?

  • TS1398 Wifi slow after iOS 8 upgrade

Since upgrading to iOS 8 the wifi connection from both my iPad Air and iPhone 5 is so slow that watching video or streaming is not possible and many web pages take ages to load. I've rebooted and reset both devices and 2 different routers that are working well with other devices (including apple products running on earlier iOS version.) Is the only solution to revert to iOS 7 until the issues are fixed?

    Thanks Brian,

Regardless of whether you think you need it, uninstall it and test to see if the slowness problem is solved.
If it isn't put it back if you must, but there's no point trying to look for another cause till you've eliminated this one. You have a huge amount swaps which is what is causing your slowdown. 90% chance that's your AV software doing that.

  • Playing music VERY slow after 3.0 upgrade

I have a 32GB ipod touch bought in Feb 2008 (does that make it 2G?). If I listen to my songs in 'shuffle' mode, or with a large playlist, the ipod is extremely slow and unresponsive. After pressing the 'shuffle' button I have to wait about 10-15 seconds before a song starts playing. The touch controls also become very sluggish when playing songs. If I press the 'next' button there's often a 15 second delay before the screen updates and the artwork changes. During this time the controls on the ipod are also frozen which makes it impossible to skip through songs on shuffle mode.
Any idea what's happening or what I can do to fix this?
I'd rather lose half of the new features and just have my ipod play songs properly!

i am also having this problem. if i synch my first generation ipod touch and then try to play music, it says "Updating Library ... this may take a few minutes". then, if i try to play playlists with lots of songs (1000+) the controls are very sluggish, taking 5 - 15 seconds before allowing me to skip to the next song. but, it seems to "fix" itself after a minute or two. i wonder if it is indexing something in the background that it making it run slow? maybe related to the new spotlight feature? i have restored alredy. any advice?

  • Ipad2 is sluggish after iOS 8 upgrade

Since downloading ios8 my iPad2 has become very sluggish, cell service drops out and only a hard reboot will restore, some of my apps icons only show up as an icon framework, exchange based email seems to be getting erased and has to reload ( same on iPhone 5).  When the next patch coming out please, can't happen soon enough.  My iPad2 is almost unusable.

This is just a user to user forum. We don't know when or if there will be an update (although an eventual update is pretty much inevitable)
You can try a few things.
    Reset your iPad
Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. No data will be lost.
    Force close any extra apps.
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.
You can also look into restoring your iPad. Do a backup, restore it to factory defaults then restore your iPad from that backup. Might help.
Beyond that you can send Apple feedback and let them know there are issues.

  • Ipad2 very slow and crashing after OS8 upgrade 8.1.1

ipad2 very slow and crashing after OS8 upgrade 8.1.1. I have tried to restore, using the iCloud backup (twice) and it works well for a short while then slows and crashes again.  Genius bar help said older versions of OS8 never closed apps, so a restore should fix it, but it didn't, even with a repeat.

    Hello joey:
    Try resetting Safari
Trash the preference file and restart (com.apple.safari.plist).

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • My iphone 5 is very slow after upgrading to ios8.

my iphone 5 is very slow after upgrading to ios8. What to do? Can I revert to ios7?

    Hello, RobRey77
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are some troubleshooting steps that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.
    Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
