My iPad4 will not charge using the cable supplied by Apple using AC current or the computer. Help!

Here are some things to check when there is a problem charging the iPad. First use the charger that came with the iPad and connect that to a wall outlet.
    1. No power in the outlet.
    2. Bad charger. Try a different charger.
    3. Bad cable. Try a different cable.
    4. Dirt, lint or fuzz in the charging ports. Check and carefully clean with a toothpick if necessary.
    5. Software glitch. First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
    6. Hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

My iphone and ipad both will not charge nor sync with itunes when connected to my computer.  They will not charge when connected to an outlet.  The problem started at the same time on both devices.

Did you ever get an answer to this?

    Hi there mtbbill,
You may find the troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
    Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.

  • TS2771 Ipod connects to tv, but will not charge or sync

My ipod was charging fine on my drive home. I connected it to my tv with the video cable and was watching netflix. Then I got a message that the battery was at less than 20%, even though the ipod had been connected to the wall charger the entire time I was watching.
I've tried every charger, every cable, every dock, and every computer I own now, and it will not charge with any of them. Neither my desktop or laptop will recognize that it is connected. The ipod never shows that it is connected or charging. I tried pushing the power & home buttons to reset it and still have the same problem. The reset made no difference. And I'm low on power so there's not much else I can do before it completely runs out of charge.
Any idea why it would give out on me so suddenly, or what I can do to fix it?

  • Touch 32GB 2nd Gen will not charge or sync

So I bought my iPod used through a 3rd party reseller, been great for almost 2 years now, but finally has its first serious problem. The battery had been drained from use, so this morning I plug it in to my PC laptop, and the low battery icon pops up on the screen for a couple of seconds, then the screen lights up full, and the Apple logo appears, but after about 5 minutes of sitting on that logo, the screen comes off, then the low battery logo comes up again, and then goes back to the Apple logo one more time, this just continues on and on, even after leaving it plugged in for about an hour. Everything had been working great the night before, after I updated a couple of apps on the iPod, but now will not come back on at all. I'm suspecting it could be that the battery finally gave out or maybe something wrong with the charging circuitry. I've tried using 2 other USB cables, to no avail, and using different combinations of cables on a desktop PC and my girlfriends PC laptop, none of which will produce anything, even looking into the Device Manager while the iPod is plugged in, none of the 3 computers seem to be recognizing my iPod as an attached device.

Well this is a wierd turn of events. On a random hunch (and it being late at night I figured I'd try one last thing), I put my Touch on my iPod alarm clock dock, and came back about a half hour later, and lo and behold, it actually held a charge, and is now back to normal. Many thanks for your replies though, I appreciate the effort.

  • IPod nano 6th gen will not charge or sync

iPod nano with neither charge or sync.  I have reset and run through all the troubleshooting suggestions.  I have used different cables, power blocks, tried plugging into both USB ports on computer.  All software is up to date.
Nano will play and everything operates but power is diminishing.
Any suggestions I have not thought of?

Just tried again after an hour and the situation seems to have resolved.

  • Videos will not play on PC from Mac

I have a collection of videos in mp4 format on both my PC and Mac. Most were converted through handbrake. All videos and audio from my PC will play on my mac, but only audio from my Mac will play on my PC.
The videos show up in itunes on my PC, but when I try and play them nothing happens. Why will the videos work on my Mac but not on my PC? Is there anyway to fix this?

I was working on getting the answer to your question, but I didn't have the drive or folder mapped to my PC. Itunes allowed me to connect to my mac media without a mapped drive, but apparently there was a permission problem accessing the video.
Windows Vista Ultimate is a pain with security and a very hidden setting was not allowing me to map the drive (It would not accept my username and password). I found a forum that walks you through mapping the drive with this problem and changing the network authentication setting.

Once the drive was mapped I was able to open the video in quicktime and itunes. Thank you b noir, I know you didn't give me the answer, but because of you, I found it. Hopefully this helps someone else with the same problem.
