  • When trying to restore my Iphone it goes into recovery mode

I recent just upgraded my IPhone 4s to 5s.  When I synced it to my computer it transfered eveything from my old phone to the new one which I didn't want.  So when I tried to restore it to factory settings it went to recovery mode.  I can get it out of recovery mode but it just goes back to way it was.  How can I restore it with out going into recovery mode.

we have same problem bro .. i dont know what to do.

  • IPhone 3G goes into Recovery Mode after every restore

Every time I restore my iPhone 3G, it goes into recovery mode right after an error-less restore has been completed. Yes, I've tried using tools such as TinyUmbrella and RecBoot and iRecovery. The device was not jailbroken when I tried to update it to 4.2.1 yesterday. They all reboot the phone and just throw it back into recovery. I have no idea what to do. Searching is futile. I thought I might as well do what I almost never do and ask these communities for support.
    I hope they don't disappoint.

I had this problem with my wife's iPad when I updated to 7.0.3 via OTA. It was easily fixed for me, and I assume it should work for everyone else.
It appears that sometimes during installation of the OTA update to 7.0.3, it gets stuck in recovery half way through.
You can connect it to iTunes and restore it, which will wipe it, OR you can download TinyUmbrella and kick it out of recovery. Once you do that, the installer should complete normally (it did for me).
    1) Download and install TinyUmbrella for your PC/Mac.
    2) Make sure iTunes isn't running and connect your device via USB.
    3) Open up TinyUmbrella. Your device should show up on the left. Click on it and then choose "exit recovery".
    4) Profit.

  • HT1414 iphone 4 goes into recovery mode error 40

iphone 4 keeps going into recovery mode, when try to restore the iphone it comes up with error code (40), how can this be fixed?

    Hi November-Rain,
I found the following information about error code 40:
    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

  • IPhone 4 goes into recovery mode on its own?

I have an iPhone four for Xmas and its working fine it just goes into recovery mode on rs own as luckily it can be restarted without connecting to iTunes, it's just really annoying having to do this every 2 minutes, anyone know what I can do?

Basics from the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.  Have you gone through any, if not ALL these steps?

  • IPhone 5 going into recovery mode

My iphone has been continously shutting off and going into recovery mode. I sometimes can get lucky and turn it back on, but my phone will randomly freeze and turn off again. I have just restored my phone this morning, and minutes after I got it up and running it shut off again. Sometimes the apple logo appears and just fades to black. I have not jailbroken or tampered with this phone in any way. It has also not been dropped. It is still under warranty, so I am thinking about replacing it. Any suggestions? Is there a known cause for this problem? Thanks.

When you restored it did your restore from a back up? Try restoring it to factory settings! If the issue/problem was in the software it could be in the backup and when you restore and put the back up on the phone you are just putting the problem right back on....

  • IPhone 5 going into recovery mode when trying to update iOS 7

My 5 went into recovery mode when trying to update to 7.0.2 OTA. At first I was like ok just a glitch. Well trying to update to 7.0.3, it did it again. So right now I am again in the process of restoring and updating my 5.
    What is going on?

because I'm an idiot.. of course.. All my other over the air updates have worked, I had a good wifi connection, knew I had a backup, and was desperate to get past the initial bugs I've been experiencing..
I downloaded iTunes on my work PC, enough to get it going again, which I bascially had to do twice.. iTunes didn't find a backup and said that iCloud didn't have a backup, even though it did.. So, it did a basic install of iOS 7..  I then erased all settings from the iPhone itself and when it restarted I chose to restore from iCloud which the phone was able to find..
Have not seen anything better.. I've had a couple random reboots. Once when swiping the Starbucks notification on the lock screen, the phone immediately crashed back to the apple boot screen.

  • HT201263 My ipad will not show the recovery mode, it goes into DFU mode just fine, but whenever I put it in recovery mode I get nothing but a blank white screen. After doing a restore or update itunes gives me error 37. This all happened due to a failed u

I updated from ios 5.0.1 to 5.1. Midway through the update itunes crashed. I got it all working again and ever since I have been stuck in a recovery loop. DFU mode works fine, but when I go into recovery mode (yes I am doing it right, yes I have tried pwning, tinyumbrella, etc.) it still just gives me a white screen (I am not getting the plug arrow and itunes icon screen that shows up when you are in recovery mode). I am a huge fan of hacking, mods, and jbs, BUT have never done any on the iPad, (found it pointless).. nevertheless, I am stuck thanks to apple in a white screen and a nonworking iPad. If anyone has any ideas that does not include jbs, updating, restoring, restoring with internet off, restoring in DFU, I would gladly appreciate it. I would take it to the apple store but it was a friends and I didn't purchase it. My friend had the issue formerly and they had no idea what to do at apple (they usually try DFU, restore, and then have nothing else to tell you.

There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:

In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.

  • IPhone keeps going into recovery mode while playing mp3's through Ford SYNC

    Hi There,
I have a 2008 Ford Focus with the SYNC iPod connectivity. I have the latest SYNC software update installed in my car.
Twice now while playing songs via the USB connection with SYNC, my phone has suddenly dropped into recovery mode when it finishes playing a playlist.
Can anyone offer a solution ? It is really annoying having to restore my phone all the time

Ooops sorry about that. It must've been 8.1.2 then? I honestly don't remember.. I wasn't paying attention when I updated since I regularly do it for my iPad, other phones. Anyway, whatever is the latest version of the iOS, it got me stuck in recovery mode.
really sorry about the 8.2 Info

  • HT201210 Iphone 4 goes into recovery mode every time the battery runs out?

Iphone keeps returning to recovery mode when the battery runs out and is charged up again. I have updated the software and it still requires a system restore everytime the battery dies, does anyone have an information to help resolve this issue?

That's what I did. When selected restore, it downloaded and verified the installer, and then threw the error that the phone is in recovery mode instead of proceeding with the restore. I then tell it a second time to restore and it proceeds to restore; but I never get the message that the 4 has successfully unlocked.

  • IPhone 4 goes into speaker mode when making calls

Hi, if someone knows a fix please do share as i just runned out of ideas and i cant find anything else online to repair this issue.
I have an IPhone 4 everything is working fine but when i make or recieve a call the device goes automaticly to speaker mode and i cant hear or be heard.
At this point im getting suspicius its a software fault, as i already did most common procedures like reeboting, reinstaling IOS, changed the mic and speaker module, changed the power connector for a new one and none of these work as the IPhone is still in the same condition.
Ive read another fix involving an audio complier chip fault, but im not too keen in separating the logicboard and saving it for last resource.
I´ve foung this video on Youtube that is the exact match to whats happening to mine but noone seems to know whats happening.

  • IPhone 4 goes into recovery mode, won't update - it's now a brick.

This morning the phone was charged up to 96% and suddenly when I pulled it out, it refuses to start-up.
Holding down the sleep/wake and home buttons also to no avail.
Connected it to a car charger and the first screen (picture of iTunes and the USB cable) appears.
Came back and connect it to iTunes and message appeared telling me the phone is in recovery mode and need to be updated.
But what's worse is that the restore doesn't even happen forcing an error 2001 message.
Called the Apple rep and even she was surprised this happens as I'm on the Mac platform.
As a result, she indicated that it's likely to be a hardware issue.
Am going down to the telco to get a one-on-one exchange.
Jesus, Apple. This is clearly a huge disappointment.
    Anyone faced the same issue?
PS: going through the "unplugging all USB devices" didn't work too. Huge huge disappointment.

Did you try the "reset SMC" thing? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 , mentioned here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275 :
Error 2000-2009: (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on) If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. Learn how to reset the SMC. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue continues, it may be related to conflicting security software.

  • IPhone 4S goes into recovery mode every night.

Used iTunes to restore once, and drove 2 hours to the Apple Store today to have them do a DFU restore. Still didn't fix it. Not sure what the problem could be. I can typically hold the home and power button to bring it out, but sometimes that does not work. Bought the phone new in December. AT&T is the carrier.

Your Device is still under warranty... did the Store not offer to replace it...
If you are dissatisfied... contact Apple and explain your issue...

  • IPhone constantly goes into recovery mode

Yesterday morning I woke up and I saw a yellow triangle with the words "Connect to iTunes" so I did and was told I was in recovery mode and i needed to restore.
So I did, 4 times in one day.
It will go in that mode if im doing something on the phone or just letting it sit.
I've reinstalled iTunes but I still get the error.

at this point I would suggest calling 1-800-myiphone and speak to the experts
