Your expectations are not based in reality.
Your G4 will not run iCloud. There will be no upgrade from Mobile Me to iCloud for you with that machine unless you do it manually, and only mail will work without further expenditure. -
Can you shuffle a single playlist when using iphone 3GS and nike+?
Ok...can't seem to figure this out. Been using the nano 4g with nike plus and I can set the playback mode to shuffle on the ipod... when I start a work out with nike plus and select my "running" playlist, it retains the shuffle - meaning it shuffles the songs of that single playlist.
Started using my iphone 3gs and I can't figure out how to set the playback of a SINGLE playlist to shuffle (I see the option for shuffle across ALL playlists) but I only want my "running" playlist to shuffle.
Am I missing something?

Nike+ and the iPod functionality of your 3Gs are both apps which are capable of running in the background, per se. Start your iPod app, shuffle the playlist of your choice and THEN start the Nike+ app. When you get into your workout, select "now playing." This will stick with your shuffled songs. -
IPhone 3GS and Nike+ Remote problems
I've been using my Nike+ Sensor and Nike+ Remote watch with the iPhone 3GS and have noted problem. (I also have an 4th Gen Nano which works flawlessly with this kit)
The fast forward and reverse buttons work to "skip" to the next song or podcast, but have lost the functionality to hold them down a FF through the song or podcast.
Anyone else have these problems?The spoken feedback problem must be a bug. It happens to me sometimes and it can be fixed by either turning the phone off and back on or resetting it.

For some reason, I can't get the Nike + app to show up on my iPhone. I go into settings and turn Nike + iPod on but the app doesn't show up in the list. The only way I can get it to show up is to restore the iPhone without restoring the phone from a backup. As soon as I restore the phone from backup, the app won't show up anymore. How do I get the app to come back?
I haven't heard of this particular issue before, but something you can try is turning the integration off, restarting the phone, then turing integration back on, and restarting the phone again. If it's still not showing up, looks like restoring the phone as new may be the only solution I can give. Perhaps you may want to go into Settings > General > Reset and reset all settings as a pre-restore attempt. Good luck!

"Face Time" app for Video Chat between iPhone 3GS and PC?
Does anyone know of an iPhone app and/or PC application combo (besides Yahoo Messenger) that will support video chat between an iPhone 3GS and a PC (not a Mac)?
FYI, I can already do video chat without Face Time between my iPhone 3GS and an iPhone 4, over WiFi or cell, using Fring and a reverse angle mirror from ISeeU.

Thank you for your question. iOS 7 requires iTunes 11.1. First, I recommend trying to obtain the update by going to the iTunes menu and selecting Check for Updates.

I have an iPhone 3gs and it used to show up on my computer, but now it shows up on my screen that it is charging however, does not appear in iTunes or My Computer so i can't sync it. Can anybody help? Thanks.

I have an older iPhone (3gs) and need to upgrade to a newer phone (4S). I need to get my NOTES, CALENDAR, CONTACTS, PICTURES, etc backed up on iTunes so I can get that data loaded onto the new phone. But not sure how to do that. When I open iTunes it has a button that say "Back Up iPhone", but I'm not sure what that does. When I go into the sync options it say I have another user account and asks me if I want to merge of replace. I'm assuming it's trying to tell me I have an older iTunes Library, but don't know that. Geez, maybe people over 60 shouldn't have iPhones, iTunes just bafles me.

IPhone 3Gs and Mobile Me not updating Issues
I have an iPhone 3Gs and a mobile me account, everything was working well and if I entered info in my Calender or contacts either on the iPhone or my G5 Tower at home then they would sync up and merge so that the same dates or addresses were in both places.
Since updating the iphone to 4.0.1 I have had issues with date and contact merging.
If I add an entry in the calender it appear in my mobile me web calender when sync'ed, but does not transfer to the iPhone. I have checked that on the G5 the calender date book is the iPhones date book. I have checked that Calenders and Contacts are on the mobile me web. but they are not filtering down to the iPhone.
If I add a date to the calender on the iPhone they are not hitting the G5 tower.
This was never a problem prior to the phone software update. I have shut the phone down fully and restarted it incase that was an issue. I have also checked the phones Settings
Settings> Mail, Contact, Calenders and Fetch is set to Push every 30 Mins
Push > Set to On
Advanced schedule> Push (Have also tried Fetch as well)
and
Settings>for my .Mac email> Mobile Me >
Mail> On
Contacts> On
Calenders On
BookMarks> On
Notes>On
and
Settings>Calender
New Invitations Alers > On

Is anyone able to to suggest how I can cure this issueI am having the same issue (actually only noticing on phone Mail, haven't checked calendar yet). And this is an iPhone 3GS without the 4.01 update. Been noticing this for a couple of weeks at least. I'll even hit refresh in Mail and it acts like it's trying, but old emails remain (that I trashed at work) and new ones I saw at work iMac are not shown. They eventually update, but not like they should, especially after I have told the phone to refresh. Not the behavior I've known and loved for years.

I have an iphone 3GS and I have upgraded it to iOS 6. Since then it doesn't work properly.
Every now and then it has been restarting by itself and requiring restore. When I connect it to itunes it restarts again and again without letting me take any action. Is there any solution?Hey, There are afew things you can try.
- Simply turn your phone off and back on again
- Hold down your home button and your lock button and let goes as soon as the screen goes black (Phone will power down) - Then turn on your phone and hey presto!
- Back up your iPhone to your PC, then restore it..
this ones last cause I think you may have tried it already..
- Close all open applications

i factory unlock my iphone 3gs and was on ios 6.1.2 and updatednit to 6.1.3 with itunes and the phone got lock again at activation screen. i try downgrading to 4.1 with baseband 5.13.04 and want to upgrade back to 6.1.2. pls help me
Sorry, downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple, thus there is no official way to do so. Your phone was re-locked to the carrier it was originally locked to because you hacked it to unlock it. Apple's servers detected such & re-locked your phone. You need to contact the carrier your phone is locked to if you want to get it officially unlocked.

I have a iPhone 3GS and my husband has an iPhone 4, both phones are updated. We added iMessage the them both and at first it was great, the messages appear in the text messages under the phone contacts and when I send a text message it will either be a green message or a blue one for (iMessage) depending on the signal. Now when my husband sends a text message to me I don't get them all or some days none. When I send him a text message he gets them from my email address. I cannot send him a standard text anymore my phone only wants to iMessage, so if the signal is not right it just sits there undelivered???
I also have a friend who that we regularly texted each other, for the past 4 months I can receive her texts but she never gets mine? And I have tried countless times, now iv given up trying and I don't use texting to either, but everyone else no problem.You and your husband can share a store account and still have seperate iCloud accounts for your contacts, bookmarks and stuff like that. Click here for instructions to make an apple account without entering a credit card. Make sure you use a different email address for each apple account.
Set up your iPhone/iPad whatever using the new account for iCloud. Then go into settings/store and sign in with your purchasing account, you may need to sign out of the other account. To the best of my knowledge, your household is allowed to share purchased legally, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Once you each have your own devices set to your own accounts you can set them to backup to that account and it will keep all your contacts seperate.

I had no issues with Ver 9.01 but since upgrading to Ver 12 it takes forever to startup but is unusable when it finally comes up. Any ideas why and how do I fix it. IE 9 and Chrome have no issues.
