IPhone 3Gs notes not working correctly

I use notes app all the time on my iPhone and noticed today that it is not working correctly. When I make a new note it takes forever to save it, meaning the little indicator keeps spinning on top showing the iPhone is working. Then once it is saved if I close it and come back into it to add something more to the note, it saves it for a second and then deletes what I just added. What can I do to fix this? I have a 3Gs software version 4.0.1. Thanks

I did the reset and it 'appears' to be working. I still need to test it more before I am convinced. The reason I say this is because it still takes an abnormally long time to save a new note. I simply type one word into the notepad and say 'done' and the indicator at the top spins for several minutes. The information is still in the note so maybe its working. I wonder why it takes that long? Is that typical? I dont recall if it was always like that or I just noticed it because the function was not working properly??

  • IPhone 3GS no longer works with bluetooth since ios 4.3.2 update

Hi all. Since the ios 4.3.2 update my iPhone 3GS no longer works correctly with the bluetooth in my car (2006 Acura TL).  I know it's not an issue with the car and the only thing that has changed is the update with the phone.  Anybody else having this issue?  I have unpaired, tried to re-pair, reset the network settings, reset all of the settings, and did a restore.  I'm at a loss with what to do next.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

Its becoming a problem of epic proportions...so many people are having the exact same problem...I have a Feb 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Series 200 and since upgrading to OS 4 my USB function no longer works like it did before the upgrade.
My Apple has become a LEMON!!
Would be nice to hear that Apple recognises there is a problem...buut maybe they are too busy counting all their money to care!!

  • My iphone 3gs is not working properly, when switched on it says 'Update Completed' as though it has just been updated. On the next screen it says to 'Connect to iTunes'. It doesn't, however, connect to iTunes and more often than not just resets itself.

My iPhone 3gs is not working properly and hasn't been since about September of last year. When switched on (Quite often it won't even turn on) it says 'Update Completed' as though it has just been updated. On the next screen it says to 'Connect to iTunes'. It doesn't, however, connect to iTunes and just resets itself over and over until power is gone. Occasionally after switching on and off a few times it functions normally for a few hours and some times even a couple of days but eventually always turns itself off and goes back to the 'Update Completed' screen. Does anyone know what might be causing this and/or a way of fixing it?

    Morning JordenR,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
You can resolve many restore issues using the troubleshooting steps documented here.

  • HT1414 restoring my iphone 3gs is not completeing and the phone is not working

restoring my iphone 3gs is not completing and my phone is not working i took it to my local phone shop they told me that the new itunes will not fit onto the iphone 3gs, how can i get my phone to work.

If your restore is failing, there could be MANY issues...  You may need to restore the phone back to "new phone" during the restore... PAY ATTENTION HERE...  You will lose ALL contacts, photos, videos, voice memos, etc... But you will be able to re-add your apps< and music through itunes.  that is very last resort though.  if that doesnt work, I would look into updateing your phone.  Personally I wouldn't get the 5, just because I dont need the additonal size screen...  I have the 4S and LOVE it!!  but, do some research, and see what you can find on the matter.  But it sounds like your headed down hill fast with that phone... May be best just to upgrade and save yourself the frustration...

  • After restoring definitions iphone 3gs does not works, after restoring definitions iphone 3gs does not works

after restoring definitions iphone 3gs does not works

What do you mean by "restoring definitions"?
    What EXACTLY is your problem?
"does not works" is just a bit vague.

  • FIXED (for me at least): iPhone 3gs will not sync with Gateway NV79

I’ve spent months trying to fix this miserable problem with getting my iPhone 3gs to sync with my new Gateway NV79. Gateway will not help. Their technical support is genuinely worthless. Microsoft blames Apple and Apple blames Gateway.
My old iPod Nano syncs to my Gateway NV79 without a problem. I’ve tried all of the proposed fixes but other posters with no success.
But I do believe I’ve discovered a real fix (for me at least). Here’s my setup:
    • Gateway NV79 running Windows 7 64 bit edition
    • iTunes 10
    • iPhone 3gs running OS 4.02
The USB ports needs tweaking to get the iPhone 3gs to sync to the Gateway NV79. Follow these steps without your iPhone 3gs connected to the Gateway NV79:
Step 1: Go to Control Panel
    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Click Hardware & Sound
    3. Click Power Options
    4. Make sure Balanced is selected and click Change Plan Settings
    5. Click Change advanced power settings
    6. Expand USB Settings
    7. Expand USB selective suspend setting
    8. Change On Battery setting to Disabled.
    9. Change Plugged in setting to Disabled
    10. Click OK
Step 2: Go to Windows Explorer
    1. Open Windows Explorer
    2. Right-Click Computer (not your computer name)
    3. Click Properties
    4. Click Device Manager
    5. Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers
    6. Right-click first Generic USB Hub
    7. Click Properties
    8. Click Power Management
    9. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
    10. Click OK
    11. Right-click second Generic USB Hub
    12. Click Properties
    13. Click Power Management
    14. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
    15. Click OK
    16. Restart your computer
After your computer restarts, login and connect your iPhone.
You must complete both steps. Step 1 is required for Step 2 to stick.
There are a few things that may happen. iTunes may start syncing immediately and fail with an error. Don’t worry. If the sync fails the first time, restart the computer with the iPhone still connected. Now, iTunes will either take you to setup screen to connect your iPhone or the sync may restart. In my case, the setup screen came up and I DID NOT CHOOSE TO RESTORE. Pick the first option to add your iPhone. The sync will restart and may or may not finish. Don’t worry, if the sync fails, restart your computer again with the iPhone still connected and this time the sync will work.
Here’s the problem: the iPhone 3gs will not sync with the power management enabled for the USB ports on the Gateway NV79.
    Good luck.

If you cannot update your computer, you will not be able to sync your phone. The requirements are:
    Mac system requirements
Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
iTunes 10.1 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
    iTunes Store account
    Internet access

  • My iphone 3GS is not being recognised by my PC?

My iphone 3GS is not being recognised by my PC, either in itunes or My Computer as a drive. iPad and iPod work fine.
Phone also not found on other computers I have tried.
Tried resetting the phone. Reloaded iTunes. Stumped now.

Now sorted thanks. It was the cable, seemed identical, would charge the phone through the USB port but did not show up as a drive.

  • Iphone 3gs will not activate after restore and update

my sons iphone 3gs will not activate after restore and ios update.
phone keeps saying no service but worked fine before restore and update any ideas ? thanks

Sorry. The jailbreak is undoubtedly the root cause of your problem.
It is not always possible to repair the damage done by jailbreaking.
Try searching google for an answer, but be prepared to just buy a new phone.

  • I am using iPhone 3GS. Not able to update 6.16 version

I am using iPhone 3GS. Not able to update 6.16 version

I'm having the same problem as maujmasti.
After upgrading my iphone 3gs to ios 6.1.6 my wifi connection stopped working. When the network requires a password it displays a message that the password is incorrect and when it's an open network it says that it wasn't able to connect.
I formated my iphone in attempt to fix the problem. It worked for a while but a few days later I could not connect anymore. The weird thing is that the wifi connection started to work again for another day or two but after that it stopped for good.
When I tap on the blue arrow beside the wifi name, all the spaces are blank (IP adress / subnet mask / router / DNS ...).
I've tried a lot of things that I read on the forum and nothing works.
I could try to format my phone again but the problem is that I can't do an iCloud backup, not via wifi neither via iTunes.

  • HT4623 Iphone 3gs will not ring

My IPhone 3gs will not ring on incoming calls.  Rebooted phone, did hard reset and nothing works.  Volume is up and phone is set to ring.

First check to see if you have your phone on slient if its not on slient then theres a problem. When you had jailbreaked your iphone it messed up your system and what I would suggest is that you go to a Apple store not AT&T but "Apple" and tell them your problem then they will replace your phone like they did to mine when my sound was not working as well. Hope this help :]

  • My iPhone 3Gs would not connect to Wi-Fi

    Hello,
My iPhone 3Gs will not connect to Wi-Fi, it results in a message that states, "unable to join the network". The IP address, Subnet Mask, Router, and DNS is blank- which I am guessing the router do not give my iPhone a valid address anymore. When I first installed the router, it gave my iPhone an address and worked excellent with my other wireless items. My other wireless items still are connecting to the internet but not the iPhone.
    I have tried:
    - restarting the router (the firmware is updated)
    - resetting my network settings on the iPhone
    - turned my "Airplane Mode" on and off
    - syncing the iPhone with my computer to factory settings (version iOS 5.0.1)
    - I have tried changing the security to wep to wpa to wpa2
    Thank You

    Help anyone

  • Iphone 3gs 16g not restoring

My iphone 3gs 16gb was working perfectly fine this morning.
I decided to plug it into my Mac as I had just bought 2 new apps (Monopoly & Scrabble) and I wanted to update my itunes so i had my back up.
When I connected it automatically popped up with a window telling me I need to restore my iphone. Went through the motions but now it is currently stuck on the status bar that says "Restoring iPhone software ...." and is stuck at approx 1/10 of the way through the process.
Its been like this for the past 10 minutes and kind of looks like its moving but I think the movement but really there isn't.
I now can't access my phone. If I unplug it then the phone is stuck on the screen that tells me to connect my iPhone to iTunes.
I've tried to reset the phone holding down the on/off switch + HOME button together and it just resets back to that itunes image again.
    HELP!

I am guessing that you are getting the error 9 after the restore process froze and you disconnected the phone.
    From the article;
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275
+Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off of the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.+
Not sure why it froze in the 1st place, but here are a couple of things you can try.
What happens if you use a different USB port?
Make sure you are not using a USB Hub.
Try removing the Apple Mobile Device Service as described here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1286
If still no joy, try creating a new user on your computer and see if you can restore it that way.
(under the Advanced Steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275)
One concern I have for you is reactivation if you are roaming in England from an Australian SIM. You may need to ask around if that's possible or in England ask the at the Apple store.
