Iphone 3GS with latest software upgrade - Not fully functional ?
I have recently upgraded the operating system on my iphone 3GS to the latest software, although some of the new functions work like the home screen files it seems that the new function of additional incoming text alerts (some 17 new ones) are not on the phone, I have tried to re-install the upgrade but itunes will not allow this to be done as it says its already running the latest version, any help would be greatly appriciated.

Yeah, just like it's a shame the people cannot be bothered to do a search prior to posting a thread.

IPhone 4s with latest software cancels sync at random times and doesnt display all music
iPhone 4s with latest software cancels sync at random times. When I manually manage music and re-sync it it still cancels the sync half way through, but shows all songs I manually copied on the phone within iTunes. On unplugging the songs dont display.
Have already tried changing the language, doing a hard reset, updating the itunes software, unchecking all songs and only checking the songs I want synced, deleting the songs that the sync stops at from iTunes. Still doesnt work.
Any ideas? Not too bothered about the syncing part if necessary I can manually move music I just need to know how to make it display on the phone when it is not plugged in to the computer?
Dont say wipe the phone and start again thats not an option for me.
ThanksInstead of deleting I just re-imported everything over the top so iTunes has the links again. Now more songs have imported but when I get to a certain group of songs it cancels the sync.
I can see all the imported music I import on my phone but most of it is not clickable to play.
What happened originally was I cancelled a sync mid way, since then when iTunes tries to sync it always cancels at a certain point. Is there a way to effectively clear the cache of iTunes so it doesnt remember cancelling the sync before. I have tried updating iTunes and it doesnt work. Maybe if I uninstall then re-install?

Have an iPad mini with latest software upgrade 8.1.2. Verizon Messaging app crashes on use after one year with no problems. I deleted the app and downloaded a clean version. It crashes whether or not I have any apps running in the background. Sometimes I can type part of a message before it crashes. Other times it crashes as soon as I try to use the app at all. Neither Apple Support nor Verizon store staff could find any reason for the problems. Any ideas??

Did you uninstall that application by pressing/holding down the icon until the (X) appears? Tap the (X) to delete it. Once the application has been deleted, you will need to reset the network settings on your device in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Power that device off/on and then download the application again. Additionally, we also recommend that you disable Wi-Fi and connect to our network to test the messaging feature again.

Ipod nano updated with latest software will not play or charge on ipod dock
My ipod nano generation 4 is updated with the latest software version 1.0.4
It was playing and charging fine on my ipod docking station until the update.
Now however the ipod is unresponsive on the dock. neither charging or playing. I have tried it charging on the cord and playing on my headphones no issues.

Since you didn't provide any details or what the error message is:
I'll assume that your phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it from the original carrier and when you updated it locked back up to the original carrier. -
I have an old iPhone 3Gs with software version 4.3.5, I am trying to use it again, and it works fine, but I have not been able to update the software. Every time I try, I get the following message:
"there was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone, the network connection could not be established". This happens even though I have a working internet connection.
Besides that, all the other functions work properly, even synchronize apps and library.

Please can someone help me to solve the error message "Could not activate cellular data network: PDP authentication failure"when using 3G or GPRS on safari with an iphone 4GS and latest software updates. I have tried resetting the network and phone settings. I have restored the factory settings on itunes and still the problem persists.
All iPhones sold in Japan are sold carrier locked and cannot be officially unlocked by the carrier. If you unlocked it, it was by unauthorized means (hacked), and support cannot be given to you in this forum.
Hacked iPhones are subject to countermeasures by Apple, particularly when updating the firmware. It is likely permanently re-locked or permanently disabled.

Is it a good idea to update my iphone 3GS with the new io6 software? I did it with my iphone 3G and the io4 software ruined it really!
Your plan is generally OK, but I would suggest a different approach, since you're so frazzled by it.
1. Update iPhoto first; check and backup the iPhoto Library;
2. Upgrade to Yosemite; This will prompt you to migrate to Photos, but you don't have to do it, so don't!
3. iPhoto 9.6.1 will remain in your Applications folder and you can continue to use it;
4. Learn more about Photos, it's features and how iCloud Photo Library really works (for example, once you turn it on, you won't need to download manually);
5. When you do feel you know enough about Photos, only then launch it to migrate your photos; after migration your iPhoto Library remains fully functional, in case you want to revert to using iPhoto, so that part should not worry you.
Thet biggest issue you have is the small amount of free space. You might want to address tha first, or locate your new Photos Library on an external drive as well, and only move it to your local drive when it's been optimized (or keep it on an external). -
I have an old iMac version 10. 4.11 and I have the iPhone 3GS which I cannot upgrade the latest applications I want to buy the iPhone 4S but I need to back up all the information on my iMac and move it to a different computer contacts songs etc which is the easiest way to do this

I tried upgrading to leopard, even bought the software and brought it home but it wouldn't let me. So i went back to apple, gave them the specifications of the machine and been told my machine is simply too old for leopard. This is incredible to me because it really isn't THAT old (i think just a little over 6 years maybe) and yet i'm left out on the curb when it comes to using newer apple products. I understand technology moves on but the mindset that i am supposed to dump a perfectly working machine after a couple of years or face not being able to use any other apple product is counter to what thought apple was about. -
Can anyone help? I updated my iPhone 4 with latest iOS 7 and now wi fi is greyed out, Bluetooth won't work and tbh am so angry! Phone now out of warranty so apple won't help without it costing me. Don't want to pay as its an apple problem not phone problem. It worked ok before. Tried everything, even clearing it down. Can't even back it up now unless I connect to a pc!
I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple. -

Go to supportprofile.apple.com and remove your device. Alternatively you can call in to apple and have Apple look up your phone number. They may be able to remove it from their end.
If it does not show up in either of these places, have the people whe own the other iPhone send you a message> this message will be blue for an iMessage> have them push an hold on that message and select the option "send as text"> this should send the message as green> do this two - four time till it starts sending as green on its own.> this should fix it. -
Last year I brought from China (I am in Australia) an IPhone 3GS with operating system of 4.1 This IPhone came brand new in box etc. I want to update the operating system because a lot of the apps need newer software, however It will not work properly or update. Why?
