Hi! I buy iphone 4 (factory unlocked) in UK for use it in russia with russian mobile operator MTS (mts.ru).
But when i insert SIM card for activate - itunes say: "the sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported". That i need to do?

That message means your phone is in fact not unlocked, but rather locked to a UK carrier. Apple stores sell both. The price you paid has absolutely nothing to do with whether your phone is locked or not. We get posts on a daily basis, just like yours. If you are within the 30 day return window, return your phone & get your money back. Your phone won't work or activate where you live. There is nothing anyone here can do for you.

Great, I hardly turned on my iPhone and I already have a problem! I'm having trouble activating it. I downloaded the latest version of itunes, went through the various steps, and things were going smoothly enough until I got up to the page to enter information for AT&T.
When I finished the process, instead of getting a code and an activated iPhone, I got a message saying that AT&T is confirming my information and will send me an e-nail that would THEN allow me to activate the iPhone. While I did get two mesages - one from Apple and one from AT&T - confirming the purchase of the AT&T service, hours later I still don't have the means to activate it!
I think the problem occured on the aformentioned AT&T information page. I entered the wrong social sucurity number, and so my thoery is that they're checking it to see what's going on with that.
Sorry for droning on, here're my questions: when will I get the e-mail I need to activate the iPhone? Has anyone else experianced this who can tell me what's going on?

If you accidently entered the wrong Soc number, you need to call AT&T and have them cancel the activation and re-activate it for you. Now that the masses are all activated, you should have not much of a wait time.
However, if you're porting your existing cell number from another carrier, be aware that you might have a delay. The other cell carriers, by law, have up to 28 hrs to "release" your phone number so AT&T can take over.
Some activations took a few minutes. Some hours. Some an entire day or so.
But i do think since you fouled up the automated process online, you do need to call AT&T and get that sorted out.

Only the Apple ID that was used to enable "Find My iPhone" on the device can be used to bypass Activation Lock.

TS4006 i was about to have my iphone activated and got lost. i have app "find my iphone turned on so far it says offline message and its been a week past. I was wondering if there is a way apple could detect it on some special program...

last week i went to thte bank and made a withdrawl for having my iphone activated back only to have found out later that she's no where to find. I hen proceed to check on her on my appfs find my iphone but to no avail for it was noted to have "offline". my closest guess would be on the bank's camera but the people whom i speak with has a lack of initiative to help me out and end up to get involve but a limited and not sufficient enough to satisfy me since i only see me and the tellers pose and i specifically stated to them while i was on line waiting coz i end up making hide and seek to a toddler of one and a half years and boy everytime i shows up my surprise me on a pamplet maybe my only clue to have ended dropping my phone in replave of the pamplet randomly left by one of the customer, she would simply roll her eyes and face on a different direction, we where even like a quick show for everyone who where there waiting as well.
my question is since everytime i checked it always on the offline mode, is there anyway possible to still locate it through her serial/IMEI number or like a special program to detect it. Do i still have a chance to recover after a one week missed siri ? pls. enlighten me for she was my best buddy. thanks

There's no other way to track it other than Find My iPhone. All you can do is wait to see if it ever goes back online. The serial number will only help to identify it as yours if it is ever found, and the IMEI number would only allow your carrier to blacklist the phone so it couldn't be reactivated on their network, if the carrier offers this service.

Apple ID is not an email: iPhone activation issue

I had problems activating my iPhone 4S yesterday. More specifically it would not let me use my appleID whihc is not an email address. I have an email address attached to it but the webpage does not seem to work when I tell it to make my email address and Apple ID one in the same. How can I get this to work. I only use my account that is not an email for all my purchases in the past. Compounding things is that I did at one point create an account with the same email address (of course as the apple ID) but I never use it. What can I do here? can I get the other accounts deleted? because my iPhone activated with the email address ID it says the account is not verified and I can't download apps. I was supposed to get an email to verify this account but it never arrived??? What is going on?

Can you sign with it into http://appleid.apple.com ? If so:
Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Create a new email address, for example at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address asa long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.

Recently I changed my apple id but forgot to change my icloud account. I also have Find My IPhone activated. I tried to delete my ICloud account but first I need to switch off my Find My iPhone, to complicate this I can no longer access prev email account

I need to be able to turn off Find My Iphone in order to then delete my iCloud account, I need to include my apple id password to turn off Find my Iphone.
Is there a way around this?

Please go to website address: www.idapple.com Go to the blue tab that reads Manage apple id. From there you will have the option to change personal information of your apple id. The fact that the email address you used to create the apple id is no longer accessible as far as an email address goes will not disable you from changing information as part of the apple id account. However to disable the find my device you will need to be able to access this apple id login. Once you are able to access the old apple id account this then will allow you to access the icloud services by going to www.icloud.com from there you will login with your old apple id once logged into icloud.com and you have chosen the correct device you then can erase all contents of the device which then will disable the find my device.
This is one way of doing it. The other way of course would be for you to login to your icloud on your phone using the old Apple id and from there provided you are able to login with password you then can simply disable the find my device inside the icloud account.

Unfortunately, the proposed option does not help you, as before when trying to check in icloud you see the same. Just not when you try to turn on Face Time the message "Waiting for activation" and all, Face Time icon on the desktop is not ...

Sorry. If you have lost your iPad, immediately go to iTunes and change your Apple ID password. Change your email passwords. Change the passwords you use for any app tied to a credit card.

Activation troubles: Helpful suggestion that worked for me

I finally got my iphone activated after 26 hours. However, I didn't get it by receiving a link from ATT to my email. I instead pressed down the home button and the on/off button simultaneously for about 3 or 4 seconds. When I released the buttons my computer instantly showed an activation complete notice and then allowed my to sync my contacts. However, my iphone would not power back on. After reading the manual on the website I finally figured out that you have to hold both buttons down again until you see the apple symbol. Once I did that the phone was instantly ready for use. I still have not gotten any email from ATT. Hope this works for you!

I don't know if you have been activated since last night, but I happened to see your reply to an earlier post of mine. The only way that I was able to activate my phone was by pressing the home button and on/off button at the same time. After you leave it off for a bit you press them both down again until the apple logo appears. Prior to me trying this the last email I got from ATT was an email giving me my order #. However that was at 2pm and it was 10:30 pm when I finally got desperate and tried it. I don't know if it was just a fluke but it worked and I'm so relieved. The phone is awesome. Hopefully you can disregard this message since I hope your phone was activated by now. If not, don't give up.

I was updating from iOS 7 to iOS 8, and they asked me for my Apple ID and password. I filled them in and then it told me that the Apple ID "****@hotmail.com" can't be used to unlock this iPhone. It's strange because it is a valid Apple ID and i used it for my iPhone before updating. I even tried to log in on iCloud on my laptop with this ID and it worked. What shall i do?

Sounds like your device has been Activation Locked by another user. Did you purchase this device 2nd hand? If so, you will have to contact the previous owner to get the Activation Lock removed:

Apple how is possible that the guy stolen my iphone with find my iphone activated get into my apple id account and erase my iphone without my password??

My iphone was stolen and i have activated "Find my iphone", when i log in on my icloud accont to find my iphone it was desconected and i activate the lost mode and i gonna be alerted when my iphone get online again. But oh what a surprise 45 minutes later someone restore my icloud password and login in my account and erase my iphone??? How is that possible, he doesnt have my password or how he get into my account and reset my apple id???

trying to update to new iphone software on my 3G.
Seems to be stuck on contacting iphone activation server.
I have tried it several different days.
I have seen other websites say to turn off wifi after it starts contacting the activation server.
That does not work.

You need an active connection to the internet. So if you are using Little Snitch on the Mac or other Firewall make sure you open up ports.
If you wife can update and restore then using the same user, computer, internet connection, etc should allow you to update your iPhone as well.
