Iphone not starting after reset

i have one iphone 3. i choose reset all settings option to remove the numbers, names and other stuff. it said, iphone will take one hour. after doing this, apple sign is continuously on my screen. even i press home and top buttom for minutes, it didnt switch off. its choosing to switch-off with a bling by its own but then immediately apple icon appears. i tried to reconnent it through itunes but nothing worked. even holding the home screen and attaching the cable. many other ways to rectify it but all waste... its not even charging. it shows red mark (battery out) often. trying to figurew out the restoration but nothing helping. could u guys plz help me with this. thanks.

Sounds like the Activation Lock is still set to the previous owner. If you are unable to get that Apple ID and password that iPhone is totally useless to you.
Take it back to the shop and demand your money back because they sold it to under false pretenses.

Hi, Hridoi. When did this issue start? Did you successfully restore the phone's software? If you've done with all the possible troubleshooting procedures, I'd suggest taking your phone to our care center to have it fixed. Held down cmmd, shift, alt to delete preferences, after opening up a previous document all my tools are gone (unable to pull them out from the dropout menu), as well as options for effects, and well.....everything. How can I get it all back?

Cmd+Option+Shift should reset the preferences to the defaults rather than remove them, of course.
Ultimately, you may have to uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall, see 6) below, but you may try other things, such as 4) on the list below.
Less likely, everyone has escaped to the sides, in which case you may increase the screen resolution to see them and round them up in the middle and then decrease the resolution again.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Find Friends Location on iPhone not working after reset

My grandson recently reset his iPhone 6 for reasons related to certain music not syncing properly with iTunes. As a result of the reset, his location is labeled "not available" in the Find Friends app when others are trying to find him. He can still see his friends locations. They just can't see him (his phone). Interestingly, in his Find My Friends app, under Me, it shows "location services off". But under Settings, Privacy, Location Services, it shows "On" and Find Friends app is showing "While Using". His iCloud account is also showing Share My Location as "On" From his iPhone ("This Device").
Any help as to what could be causing this would be most appreciated.

We were able to fix the issue by doing the following:
In Settings select Privacy, Location Services and scroll down to the bottom and select System Services. While everything was green (switched on), we turned Share My Location off and then back on. His location is now available to his friends (and parents). I have no idea why this worked to fix the issue, but it did.

Iphone has frozen after trying to down load ios7

I tried to update my iphone 4s to ios7, then it said that i had to go on to itunes. I then went on to itunes to restore and update. It then said there was an error and the iphone froze while was waiting it to up load and it has been this way since. can anyone help!. oh and not sure what operating systems it is.

My UNlocked Iphone got LOCKED after reset..!?

Hello there, did that happened to anybody else?
I got an Iphone5C last year from a Apple-Store in London.. UNLOCKED... so I payed the full price.
Was using the phone always with a prepaid O2 card.. was always working.. when I was in Germany I used my German SIM and it worked perfectly.
Recently I moved to Singapore... And I have a Singapore SIM card.. worked perfectly.. until today...
I had to reset the phone.. and just wanted to have it fresh... I did everything I always did on my iphone 3, iphone 4, and iphone5...
but suddenly it looks like the phone got LOCKED with my O2 carrierer!
When I was re-installing the phone he asked me to put in the SIM card... I had my Singapore SIM card in there (that already for 4-6 weeks was working) but I got the message that the SIM was invalid.. so i did put in my UK card... and he activated the phone.. fine right? not really... because as soon as I put the SIngapore SIM in there he ask me again for Iphone Activation... and telling me that the SIM is not valid and to contact my carrier for unlock.
I called apple.. they told me they can see in there System that I purchased the phone UNLOCKED.. and that I LOCKED the phone while I was resetting it (can sombody explain me how that is even possible?)..
So I contacted O2 now and they told me.. yes they can unblock it.. but for 15pounds! And I have to waut at least 2 weeks...
so,.. what did I do wrong ???

I have to check if I have still the receipt.. but like I wrote before... it was working.. so I do not think that I got a locked phone from Covent garden.
And... I do not care about the 15Pounds.. but it is about the concept... I payed for the phone to be unlocked... And apparently there is nothing strange about it that it got locked by mistake.. because the lady on the apple hotline was not surprised at all.She just told me "Looks like you locked the phone to the carrier while you where resetting the phone BECAUSE you had your O2 card in there" ... !???
I am still waiting for feedback from O2 and see what they say.

I close all running apps, then reset the phone and when it starts, all the same apps are still open.

You aren't closing running apps. You are removing apps from the Quick Launch ribbon. They are not running; they are suspended but kept in memory so they will start faster.

After reset can't use as iPod without sim

I upgraded to a 3g iPhone a while ago and have been using my original iPhone as an iPod without a sim card.
I was planning to lend my old iPhone to a friend and thought that I would reset it before giving it to him - so I "reset all data" , which took an hour.
Subsequently the iPhone has been completely reset (as planned) but now requires a sim card to be inserted in order to activate it via iTunes.
What is the best way to go now?
Should I insert the sim from my working 3g iPhone into my original iPhone and activate it? - what will happen to my 3g phone? Will it stop working for a while but then let me swap the sim back and reactivate the 3g phone?
Any help would be appreciated as I would like to carry on using my 3g iPhone and sim card (with all the settings !) and also be able to use my original iPhone as an iPod + wifi device.

That could have replaced your 3G data package with the Edge package. That was what happened when I re-activated my orig phone after upgrading to the 3G. I had to get on the phone with AT&T and verbally get them to switch me back to the 3G plan. Otherwise they will hit you with additional charges for 3G usage on the Edge plan, in which case I am sure you will not come out ahead on. FYI.

That is NOT unfreezing it for me. It returns to home page now after about thirty seconds of total freeze (worsened from last night).
And now some really strange things are adding to it, like when waking and sliding to unlock, the tab is sticking for several seconds to the right before opening home page. Nobody seems to know whether apps are saved in sync for easy load following a restore. (??)
Edit to add: when I try the hard reset, it simply prompts whether I want to shut down, so I guess yes, it does finally help to exit the frozen shutter, though as I said, it releases after about thirty seconds.
One more edit: I turned my iphone off and restarted it to find, knock on wood, that the camera's working now. Will see where it goes from here.
