Iphone 4s 5.0.1 update created so many problems

I have had my iphone 4s on Verizon network since November 1, 2011. I came from a Droid X and was very satisfied but got an Iphone to see what the hype was about. My Iphone was working just fine, including the battery until I did the 5.0.1 update over Icloud. I had the "bug" that made my text messages show only numbers even though all my conversations were with people who were saved contacts. I was unable to make calls and no contact names were on my call log even though they were saved contacts. I noticed that my signal has been terrible since the update, something I NEVER experience with Verizon. I also noticed that music I just recently purchased through Itunes is not playing on my Iphone. It shows that the music is playing but no sound with or without headphones when it's on the highest volume. Am I the only one experiencing all of these problems? This is my first Iphone and it's going to be my last if this does not get fixed ASAP. I tried troubleshooting based on various blogs, doing a factory reset and plugging in versus Icloud and nothing has helped thus far.

you don't really need to completely restore as new phone, but reset all settings in my experience and do a full drain and recharge. it is located settings -> reset -> reset all settings. this clears all the basic settings (i.e. wallpaper network, etc) back to default, but still keeps all of your apps, email and data as they were. when it reboots though choose "setup as new phone" after you go throught the basic questions (i.e. lang, location, siri ) setup. your apps, data will still be there as before.
still midway through my second day (east coast) and after nearly 5 hrs of standby and 30 minutes of data usage, battery is at 93%.
ps: does the mk5 refer to a golf... i have a mk6 tdi

Why do creative cloud up-dates create so many problems lately?

I just got over a fix by Adobe tech personnel in reference to the latest Light Room update, and now I experience another glitch.
I un-installed CC after CC 2014 had installed; one Gig hard drive space less and no problems with outdated plug ins. Now, trying to open Bridge from File> Browse in Bridge...., opens up the Creative Cloud Desktop Panel, but not Bridge. Going through several un-install, re-install and update processes did not help. This is not a major problem, just pin Bridge to the task bar, but every time some Creative Cloud up-date comes along, I, and most of my photography pals, have a frustrating time to get there tools of trade, working again.

I've had some similar issues. I signed up for iTunes Match when I was at work (used LogMeIn to run my Mac at home) and let it start its matching. It was still running when I got home (about 5 hours later). It matched about half of my 6400 songs and was in the process of uploading the rest.
When it finally completed, I had a couple of hundred songs that had an "error" and it didn't upload. No reason for the error, though. I made a smart playlist of all my music and selected all items where iCloud status WAS NOT uploaded, matched or purchased. So all that was left were items that were not eligible, duplicates and the "errors". I selected all the error songs, right-clicked and selected add to iCloud. It put most of the error files up to the cloud and I did the same thing this morning and it finished the rest. I have a feeling the errors were caused by the servers getting overloaded.
I did have those weird problems where all songs except for 1 or 2 for a number of albums were matched and those couple had to be uploaded. Then there were whole albums (mainstream stuff) that were not matched at all and had to be uploaded.
I still have some odd issues with my iPhone where I have some duplicate songs scattered around, not all of my playlists are listed and it looks like it kept all the music on my phone after switching to iTunes Match. I got the prompt that said it would replace my library.
It did wipe out the music on my iPad 2, though.
Hopefully they'll get this straightened out soon.

Iphone 4 upgrade to ios 5 has caused many problems

Including lost apps, incomplete syncs (always times out at last step), lost music, itunes now hangs and needs to be killed by windows. Truly wish I hadn't bothered.

Sounds like you will need to do a restore but don't restore from backup... Treat the phone like a new phone when you restore. It will wip everything. First you want to get all your camera roll pictures off the phone and into a folder in your pictures.
Once the phone is initialized you will have to check or uncheck all the apps you want and music and your photo folders from you my pictures folder taht you want. Then Sync.
On Itunes you may want to turn off the Sync when I connect option so you don't have to stop a sync in progress when you plug in. Then you can make all your choices and sync when finished. I once ran into a problem after stopping the sync that automatically kicked off when I plugged in

I created a new Apple ID and now my iphone won't learn it /update itself.

I recently created a new Apple ID (new passwort, new mail adress etc) and now my iphone does not want to update itself and "learn" the new one.
When I want to download apps etc a popup appears, asking me for verification in terms of typing in the password, but still with my old ID.
Can anybody help me?

Settings>iTunes/App Store...tap the ID shown...sign out...now sign back in with your new ID. You'll have to delete your old iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then setup again with your new ID.

Check your trash can on the desktop. The old version is automatically moved to the trashcan. You should be able to move it from the trashcan back to the Apps folder within the iTunes folder. The update that was pushed out was for iBooks to work with iOS 7 not iPhone 5. iOS 7 was released today.

Another option is to perform the update via iTunes instead. You need the space to download the update and if you don't have the space, you can't update over the air.
If you connect your phone to your computer, you can back it up (manually) onto the computer with iTunes then perform the update and it should all come back fine. I've found that sometimes it's even faster doing it that way.

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

I am unable to sync Ical from my Iphone 4 to MacBook since updating to Itunes 11. (and yes, the Iphone shows up as recognised in the sidebar and will sync Ical from Macbook to Iphone.) All ideas welcome.

If Damon's suggestion of resetting sync history doesn't fix the problem you most likely have a bad contact record in iCal. When they sync encounters the bad record it doesn't know what to do with it so it stops. To fix it you must find the bad record, open it, make a small change, and save it. An easy way to find the bad record is to create a new group and set the iPhone to sync to this group. Put a few records into the group at a time, then sync. At some point the sync will fail or hang. You have then narrowed the problem to a few records.

update itune latest than after update computer install the update than computer creat the error ( the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable
and second error
error occurred while installing the update. if the problum persists, chose tools > download only and try installing manualy.

I have had the same problem as you, and have spent the past 2 days figuring it out. I have been on the phone with AppleCare 3 times, and been to the Apple Store once as well. I ended up reinstalling iTunes completely, creating a new Administrator account on my Mac, and getting a brand new iPhone 4. None of these fixed the problem. I have a Mac, and I skipped everything except for the Terminal instructions.
I did the Terminal command, added # and a space in front of the only line it showed that had apple.com in it, then saved and exited. My update worked perfectly immediately after I completed those steps. Again, I hope this helps you as well!

How can this problem be solved? Is there any way to go back to the previous version?

If you update using iTunes the phone is first wiped clean, then the new OS is installed, and finally the backup is restored. After this finishes if you sync your music should be restored. Music is not in the backup, because it is already on your computer and duplicating it would use up a lot of hard disk space.
An OTA update just patches what has changed; it does not disturb content.

My iTunes wont update, and I can't connect my new iPhone if it doesn't update. It says error when I try to update, and I cant download it because of a "Windows Installer" error...

I just not a new iPhone and in order to sync it I need the newest iTunes, but I can't update it! I tried checking for updates and then trying to downlaod it.
