IPhone 3G queries

Hi everyone
I have got an iPhone 3G 16gb black and was just wondering if everyone else is having the same random things happen on their iPhone 3G's
1) Sometimes I go into settings and nothing loads up just a blank white screen and it freezes requiring me to hold down the sleep key or the home key to quit back to the home screen. This happened randomly 4-6 times in a row but now seems normal.
2) Where the Edge/3G/Wi-Fi symbol is, to the right the loading/downloading spindle pops up while I am in the home screen and I am not doing anything which sometimes makes the phone more sluggish.
3)When I load up contacts I have to wait 2-3 seconds before the screen becomes responsive and I can scroll through my contacts. If I start scrolling soon as I load up the contacts list my touch is registered. Also when selecting names it also has some lag before it registers my touch and pops up with the contact info.
I am hoping that these are just bugs with the new 2.0 software and that an upcoming update will fix them all. But just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing these random things like I am.

Press and hold the home and sleep awake buttons together and wait till the phone actually turns off, dont slide to turn off. It seemed to work for me with the lag issues. No clue why the spinny wheel would come up when you are on the home screen.

No Battery Charge and Other Problems After OS3 Install - Solution?

This relates ONLY to iPhone Users using the "PUSH" Function for Email or Other Apps!
PROBLEM: It seems as though Apple is at least aware of the problem(s), i.e. once Exchange Email or another App using PUSH is configured, there is an OS3 bug that seems to be hardware independent (impacting ALL 1G, 2G and GS iPhones, but not consistently).
SYMPTOMS: Include some or all of the following . . . rapid discharge (less than two hours from a fully charged phone, failure to charge (by AC adapter or USB to computer), failure to charge completely, perpetual dead battery icon, inability to boot, inability to automatically sleep, quite warm on upper back side, slow email, indication of a full or partially full charge dropping to no charge or dead when removed from charging source.
CAUSE: OS3 Bug prevents consistent charging, draining the battery even when plugged in to a computer via the USB or into an A/C adapter (although I've been able to intermittently charge on an A/C adapter). In push mode, the Exchange email client on the iPhone continually queries the Exchange Server, cycling the iPhone CPU and continually draining the battery at a high rate (can
WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD BY APPLE:
1) Defective Hardware (though I'm on my third 3G in a week, so I don't think hardware is the problem . . . Apple will consider replacement with a new 3G if my third 3G has the same problem)
2) Corrupted App in iTunes - so I manually reloaded each app directly over wi-fi, one app at a time, this worked until I configured Exchange Email, at which time symptoms immediately appeared . . . so corrupted app unlikely.
3) Initial data transfer after email configuration . . . but symptoms continued long after this.
4) Wi-Fi - but turning wi-fi on or off had little effect, beyond normal.
5) Restore to New Phone - this works fine UNTIL Exchange Email is configured and activated. Thus, the time consuming practice of reload all apps, photos, music, etc. will be for naught, once exchange email is turned on with "push"
SOLUTION: Turning off "push" on your exchange email account
1) Go to Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars - Fetch New Data
2) Set Fetch Setting to 15 minutes to approximate the much more frequent "push" uploads and downloads. NOTE: Turning off \"push\" at this level will NOT turn off push on your exchange email account and the problem will not be resolved
3) Scroll down and select - Advanced -
4) Identify and select your Exchange Server account
5) Select - Fetch -
6) Leave settings
Phone should cool down in a few minutes and work normally. The problem can be replicated and resolved repeatedly merely by toggling "push" on and off in your exchange email configuration.
I was told that this is likely to be the "fix" until a patch is issued. No time frame was given for an actual fix that allows Exchange users to use push technology. Disappointing, since broader use of "push" technology beyond exchange was one of the big benefits of OS 3.0.
NOTE: THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT OCCUR ON ALL iPHONES WITH OS3 USING THE EXCHANGE CLIENT. I have second 3G phone, identically configured (including push to exchange email) that has no symptoms at all. Go figure.

Since two days ago, my battery indicator has been indicating 100% until the phone dies, which seems to be one of the symptoms you're describing.
However, I don't use Push emails; my email client is configured to poll an imap server and has been that way since I got my phone over 6 months ago. To be on the safe side, I turned off Push anyway, but I'm still having the problem. Definitely 3.0 related as I've never had this problem before.
Perhaps it's linked to an app? Personally I don't have a whole lot of them installed: Aurora Feint, fstream, twitterific, flixster, wikipanion, google earth, urbanspoon, STM Mobile, iDicto, Air Sharing, Facebook and Apple Remote. I've removed a few and will see how it goes.

This is my first RWD site and is a work in progress. I have been testing it on emulators, google's "view responsive layouts", ipad, and it all works - albeit it's not done. I tried it finally on my iPhone and it seems to not be recognizing my media queries. I can dsplay:none in the media queries and it makes no difference. This has to be an easy fix! I have viewport set up and again it works on iPad just fine as well on desktops when you minimize the screen but on the actual iPad it shows a horrible version of the full site.

I figured out a few things but not all. It seems to work on iPhone 5 but not with new Galaxy or my older iPhone. I can guess that the issue with the iPhone is similar to why it doesn't render correctly on my old iPad but works fine with my new one, but baffled why the Galaxy doesn't recognize the media queries and viewport. Will do some research on this but if anyone knows post it here!

Warranty and support is only valid in the country of origin, or in the case of a device purchased in an EU country, only in an EU country.
Unless you will be visiting an Apple store in one of the EU countries before the warranty expires, you are pretty much out of luck.

IPhone SDK Installation Queries

Hi,
I have just installed iPhone SDK which I basically installed Xcode 3.1 over the existing Xcode 3.0, so I assume everything got installed under the Developer directory.
My queries are:
a) When I fire up Xcode 3.1 (beta), I am presented with the "Welcome to Xcode" screen and currently places me into the "Documentation" tab but when I click on "Xcode User Guide", I get a File not Found error message - anyone else getting this after installing Xcode 3.1? how to fix?
b) Where is the best place to start learning Xcode + Objective-c + Cocoa?

IPhone switching to Mac from Pc - Queries

I am just about to receive my new 13" Macbook Pro (free upgrade!)through the post. I am trying to get as prepared as possible for the move from my old XP laptop. I have a iPhone 3g and want to make sure that when I move across to the Mac, i don't lose anything.
I have already backed up by iTunes Library to several DVD discs. I am wondering:
'Will this include all the information from my most recent iPhone back up? (Done before the back up to DVD)'
'Will it be as simple as opening iTunes on my Mac, importing library from the DVDs and all my info from my iPhone will be there? (including Apps, contacts, bookmarks etc)
Also, with the new iPhone OS 3.0 out next week, should i wait untill i've moved my iPhone and iTunes library over to my new Mac before I install the 3.0 update.
Is there anything else I need to do in readiness for the Mac experience?
Any advice, tips, guidence greatfully recieved.

It isn't the charger that prevents this, it is the iPhone.
The iPhone's battery cannot be overcharged. When the iPhone's battery is completely charged while remaining connected to a power source, charging stops. This is done by the iPhone.

When I send email from iphone, mail on my mac crashes every time.

The latest in a string of issues I've had with Mountain Lion, and even more with Lion. This is the latest and most frustrating.
Eveytime I send an email from iphone or ipad, mail on my macbook pro crashes. This happens everytime!
Also, Safari is unusable as keeps crashing and hardly ever loads properly so moved to Chrome which works perfectly.
