Iphone 4s will not sync all contact information with outlook. Street Addresses will not sync.  Is there a fix?

This is the only forum I had access to post, so I apologize if my question is not relative.  Hopefully some kind soul will have an answer for me.

Thanks Randers4. You are right - I neglected to tell all the stuff I've tried. I did as you suggested about resetting the sync history - I even closed and reopened everything, and tried syncing with Outlook open, and then closed. The only change is it did download (sync) one new calendar event I added to my Outlook calendar and it put it on my iphone calendar, but it did NOT put my new iphone calendar items on my Outlook calendar. Not sure what else to try!

  • Updated 2.2 Iphone Software and lost all contact information! HELP!!

I have the old 8G Iphone and updated the new 2.2 Iphone software and lost all my contact information, video, pics, etc. I tried to hit restore and it did not bring anything back. Does Itunes save info as a back up? HELP!!
    Anthony

In regards to contact info, the iPhone is designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer.
With XP, this can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007, or with the address book used by Outlook Express, which I believe is named Windows Contacts.
Photos captured by your iPhone should be imported by your computer, as with any other digital camera.
Music and video transferred to your iPhone should remain in your iTunes library on your computer, and the same for photos that were transferred to your iPhone from your computer.
iTunes creates and maintains a backup of your iPhone, which is updated if needed as the very first step during the sync process - if any of the data included with your iPhone's backup has changed since the last sync.
The backup stores data such as most iPhone settings, email account settings, SMS messages, notes created with the Notes application, recent calls, call favorites, contact info, and photos that were captured by your iPhone, but it isn't a good idea to depend on your iPhone's backup only for the last two. As already provided, contact info is designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer, and photos captured by your iPhone should be imported by your computer - as with any other digital camera.
You updated to 2.2 from which firmware version, and did you sync your iPhone with iTunes immediately before installing firmware update 2.2 to update your iPhone's backup if needed?
You can try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup. This will completely erase your iPhone followed by re-installing the current firmware version, which is 2.2. After 2.2 is re-installed, you will be prompted to restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, which is the default selection. After your iPhone is restored from your iPhone's backup, this must be followed by a sync with iTunes to re-transfer your selected iTunes content from your computer to your iPhone along with any photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone.
If your contact information and photos that were captured by your iPhone are not restored from your iPhone's backup and you didn't sync contact information with a supported application on your computer and you didn't import the photos that were captured by your iPhone, this data will be lost.

  • Nearly all contact information is gone from my iPhone

The other day, I was walking down the street and I had a call come in. As I look at my voice mails, the names all reverted to their respective phone number right before my eyes. I thought that was strange, so I looked in my contacts and I realized that, although their names are still there, all other information (phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, etc.) are all gone. The only thing that remained are what notes I may have had about them in the "notes" section. This is so strange! All of this info is still present in my address book on my MacBook Pro, and it's out in MobileMe as well. I've tried to re-synch it back in, to no avail. Has anyone heard of this happening? Any thoughts on how to make it right? Thanks!

All of this info is still present in my address book on my MacBook Pro, and it's out in MobileMe as well.
If you are syncing contact info over the air with your MobileMe account on your iPhone, and all contact info is available/complete with your MobileMe online address book, turn Contact info off for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account on your iPhone. This will erase all contact info on your iPhone. Follow this by turning Contacts back on for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account on your iPhone.

I'd like an answer to this one too. I need to backup my iphone5 and am getting the same message. My old laptop is pretty full. Isn't there a way to choose an external hard drive to back up to? If there is, I don't see it.

There is a checkbox on the 'info' tab in iTunes that will allow you to overwrite the address book on the phone with the one from the computer on the next sync.

  • Updated my iphone 3gs last night and all contact info is gone.

Updated my iphone 3gs last night and all contact info is gone.  Messages, notes and all other sections are intact----just no contact info.

You can resync your contact via Itunes, just go to the contact tabs and check to sync.

    Hello Noushin,
It sounds like you are unable to see your contacts in the phone, but have confirmed they are still at http://www.icloud.com. I would next try these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Contacts
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3998
If you're using iOS 7, quit and restart the Contacts app on your iOS device:
Press the Home button twice to see preview screens of the apps you have open.
Find the Contacts preview screen and swipe it up and out of preview to quit the application.
Tap the Home button to return to your Home screen.
Wait a minute before reopening the Contacts app.
Turn iCloud Contacts off and back on:
    Tap Settings > iCloud.
Turn Contacts off. Choose to delete data only if your data exists at icloud.com/contacts and on one or more of your devices. Otherwise, choose Keep Data.
Wait a few minutes before turning Contacts back on.
Restart your iOS device by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and then swiping the screen when prompted to power off. Then turn your device back on. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • My blackberry tour does not sync my contacts anymore with outlook 2007. I do not get an error message. Help!!

My blackberry tour does not sync my contacts anymore with outlook 2007. I do not get an error message. Help!!

Norton is probably the issue. It can really screw things up, that is one reason I never use it. See if you can temporarily disable it and then try the sync and see if that works.
On a Mac, there is a way to run a program that repairs permissions for the user, not a Windows thing.

  • Problems with outlook and address book contacts: my outlook contacts had around 3,000 entries. Outlook duplicated by itself and now outlook and address book have each over 340,000. What should I do?

Problems with outlook and address book contacts: my outlook contacts had around 3,000 entries. Outlook duplicated entries and have now 340,000. I reinstalled microsoft office and, thus, outlook, and reinstalled mac OS X system and applications. While I managed to delete outlook contacts so that I can re-sync with my blackberry, the contacts at Mac Address Book were not deleted and still have over 340,000 entries. I do not mind deleting all contacts since I have back up, but I have not been able to delete them. Also, when I go at Address Book and try to delete or merge duplicated entries, the system takes forever and never ends because of such large amount of entries. Worse, when I do so I run out of RAM memory.
My Macbook pro is just 2 months old.
What should I do? Is there a way to delete my Mac Address Book without having the problem above?
    Many thanks
    Regis

For solving out troubles connected with corrupted or lost address book you may use address book recovery. It owns various features such as restoring wab files, it working under any Windows OS. The utility has modern and easy to use interface due to almost every experienced users.
If it is a windows problem it's not going to run on the OP's MacBook Pro

  • Phantom restarts / crashes with Maverick. Restore Disk Utility, disk can't be repaired says "live system repair is not supported" Is there a fix yet? Or is Maverick "FREE" because Apple no longer offers free phone support?

Get onto the integrated iOS + Mac OS and end support for "legacy" Mac 10.8 and earlier.
Force older hardware users like me to upgrade to new hardware which is where $$ are.
Make apps work across tablets, phone, and computer with similar (though not the "same" app, but able to read and use the same file format).
    Simplify.
I don't think anyone incl. Microsoft knew Windows 8.1 was going to be a free upgrade, I didn't and read that it would be more like $30.
No OS is ready for everyone on the day it is launched. iOS 7 is now 7.04 and climbing, Mac OS tends to really not be ready until the last patch and version is out, often a year or more after it was first issued. Ship it, then plan to fix the bugs left in or that surface.
www.macperformanceguide.com is saying "No" to Maverick for now. Of course there will be no "No" on new Mac Pro 2013 6,1 when those ship (Late Jan? )

  • Sync does not copy all contact data from Outlook 2003 to iPhone

I tried syncing my outlook 2003 to iphone. However the data information in outlook such as Work2 / Home2 / Fax 2 , E-mail 2 / etc; & other secondary numbers don't get copied on the iphone. Is there a patch or some other solution to fix this problem.
Also if we enter multiple home or office numbers in a contact in iphone how will outlook react to it.
    I am using itunes 7.6.1.

Well lots of writing on the web but i beleive i nailed the problem. Please spread the word further, the solution is (or actually the bug in Sync of iTunes :))
When iTunes developers select which contacts folder to synchronize they do not choose by what Outlook considers to be the main folder, what they do is they sort the list of folders alphabetically and then read the contacs from whichever folder comes first in that sorted list. So make sure that any other contact folder is named with a name that will be sorted out and go in the list after your main contact folder.
