IPhone 5 iOS6.1 3G issues
I upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS6.1 yesterday and today I found out that my streaming radio and spotify aren't working properly. They keep buffering as if the throughput is suddenly extremely bad. On WiFi I have no problem, I've tested this in 2 different cities so it shouldn't be a network problem. (also my GF has the same provider and no issues whatsoever)
My thoughts are that it is something in iOS6.1, anyone else having issues of a similar nature?
I've allready reset my network settings, but that did not help.
i had same problem after iOS6.1 update, think its a bug.. as a workaround use manual carrier selection instead of automatic !!!

I posted a similiar topic, but lost my thread for it.
I have numerous Iphone 4S's at my work and a few of them were upgraded to IO6. I work in IT so i thought i'd give it a test and couple of staff also upgraded to IOS6.

IP Address, Subnet, gateway and DNS addreses applied acdordingly
The FEW who have upgraded to IOS 6 are unable to connect to my WAP including myself.
I have tried Backup/Restore Iphone 4s
RESET Network Settings
Selected FORGET this network and attempted to reconnect, still doesnt accept the key
Tried to Manually select the WAP and manually apply the config details as opposed to automatically accepting details when it accepts the key
I have recreated the same ABOVE config profile on the WAP device, just a different key and no success.
i have also taken the Iphone4s of mine to the Australian, CBD, George St Apple store where they wiped the phone. We got the phone back to factory, connected it to "THEIR" WiFi. The answer i got from the Manager at the time was "If it works here, there's no fault with the phone"
I still have the majority of my staff using IOS5 which im not permitting them up upgrade for the above reason
I was suspecting FIRMWARE versions being different upon upgrading to IOS6
I found Modem Firmware: 04.12.02 or higher seemed to have no problems connecting to my WAP, if it was lower then the phones werent connectning.
Im reading on other posts people are suspecting DNS, Wireless Config setup.
I have created a SSID with NONE security to connect and still says Unable to Join the network
Tried WPA-PSK
Tried WPA2-PSK : AES Encryption
Tried WPA-PSK & WPA2-PSK with TKIP + AES Encryption
Added MAC Address of my Iphone to be TRUSTED
I enabled Super-G Mode for proprietary support of 820.11g
I can confirm the two Iphone 4S's i have problems with at the moment were "Problem FREE"
At this point the only thing i havent done it downgraded Firmware of the device

Symptoms
In rare circumstances, an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may not be recognized in iTunes on Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard after the Mac is restarted. If you reinstall iTunes, your device may be recognized. However, restarting your Mac may result in the device not being recognized again.
Note: These steps do not apply to OS X Lion or Mountain Lion.
Resolution
Follow the below steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Note: Some of these steps will require that you enter your Mac OS X user password. If you do not know your user's password, follow this article first.
Install all software updates. If you have an update available for an SDK (Software Development Kit), be sure these updates are also installed. Do this by clicking the Apple () menu, choosing Software Update, and following the on-screen instructions. If you need to download iTunes manually, you can download it here.
Disconnect the device and quit iTunes.
In Finder, click the Go menu and then choose Go to Folder. Enter the following location into the text field that appears:
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons
Click Go.
Locate the file "com.apple.usbmuxd.plist~orig" and drag it to the Trash. (Do not move the similarly named "com.apple.usbmuxd.plist" file to the Trash.)
Restart your Mac, open iTunes, and connect your device. If your device shows up in iTunes, restart your Mac one more time and confirm the issue is still resolved. -
Contact Not Being Shared from my Iphone 4S (IOS6) through message

When I share a contact from my Iphone 4S (IOS6) through message then the recipients get a message " Attachment deleted from the message to adapt to your device capabilities". This is only happening with contacts and has never happened before. Kindly help.
RegardsYes - I am aware of (#3) the SMS splitting issue - just thought it rather odd that they come in consistently out of order, regardless of what carrier they come from.
As far as iMesages and Apple system issues - This unforunately is shaping up to be another symptom of internal issues with Apple. Steve would not have tolerated the inconsistent service.
I went to lunch and completely turned off "use iMessages". I then sent several SMS messages, all of which were delivered as expected (though my wife received a photo that I had sent her two months ago at the same time!).
I then switched iMessages back on and tested it - and so far, all messages have gone through as they should. I am wondering if Apple's server issues might have needed some kind of "reset" of my account by going through this again... who knows.
Either way - so much for the old Apple addage "it just works".... -

Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red to delete apps from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -
Facetime iphone 4 ios6 lost connection call : solution here
if u been frustrated trying to make a video call with facetime there is the solution : back up on itunes and save your pics to your computer in a folder
restore your device go to setting > general >> reset >> erease all content and settings . once your device its deletes as new . setup entering location , lenguage etc etc . and you will need to get a free icloud account . when u have it and enter it to your iphone4 ios 6 , and use your new icloud account with icloud and facetime . now try to make a facetime call and it need to works . then connect to itunes and select "as new iphone" and try to get the apps and you will get em and your friends contacts list , i reccomend you write your buddy list on a piece paper just in case ..
well i was frustrated with this problem . but i solve it doing all that
it worked on iphone 4 ios6 but you can try it with another deviceCheck to see how each of you are receiving your Facetime calls, phone number versus Apple ID, and then check to see what way you are calling them. If one is receiving by phone number, make sure you are calling that phone number rather than the Apple ID. Other than that, I don't see a real reason the two shouldn't connect. I just did a Facetime with my son tonight. We are both on iOS 6, he has an iPhone 4, I have a 4S. Sorry I cannot duplicate an iPhone 5 issue here.

I am trying to save memory on my iPhone 4S/ ios6.
1) Can I back up all photos to icloud and the external hard disk I normally use for photos? If I then delete photos from the iPhone do the get deleted on iCloud?
2) Can I back up the newsstand to iCloud and save memory on the iPhone?
3) Can I back up the bookshelf to icloud and save memory on the iPhone?1. What format is the external drive? It sounds like it's ina format that Macs can't write to. Is it a NAS or NTFS?
2. Easiest thing: just move your iPhoto Library to the external
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

Dictation is not working in the reminders app on iPhone 4s IOS6. The microphone is grayed out. How do I re-enable the microphone?
One day I tried to dictate a note and discovered the microphone was grayed out. As someone suggested I did a hard reset of my iPhone 4S and that didn't solve the problem.
Then I had an epiphany. I use the Notes app a lot and have a lot of Notes stored in the app. I tried deleting some of my many notes and "viola!" the microphone is black again. My guess is the app has some kind of storage limit and when you hit that limit, the microphone is automatically turned off. Anyway, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

I have Iphone 5 and have an issue with deleting part of the messages in Imessage conversation. The trash button is not displayed to delete part of the imessage. I see only delete all option. Is it a bug?

If you are having issues deleting a specific message from an iMessage conversation (not seeing the Trash icon), you may want to double-check that you are following the steps outlined in the following article:
How do I delete a message?
To delete a message, tap and hold the message bubble, then tap More.
Tap Delete All to delete all the messages. Or tap to select the messages you want to delete, then tap .
After you delete a message, you can recover it only by restoring from a backup.

My itunes account on windows xp shuts down for no reason. If even try to delete something from my library it shuts down. It wont recognize my iphone and there is an issue with network connectivity and I can't connect to the store. I have already reinstalled itunes and did a system restore on my computer, firewall has been checked, itunes is ok on firewall and virus scan done. Ideas??
Same problem. I can see the itunes store so not a problem with windows firewall. The account is active on my iphone so i know i am not locked out. I can connect the PC to my iphone so i know itunes is working ok. It is just logging into itunes on this pc which doesn't work. Only thing I can think of is that the email address I use for my apple id has been offline for a while and is working again now, I'm wondering whether this has been the case for others who are having this issue?

While in Japan on a trip, I updated my iPhone to iOS6. Now, when I try to update my apps, I'm told that my account is not good in the Japan store I must switch to the USA store. How do I do that so I can download and update apps at home in the USA?
Your Apple ID is tied to the US store. Log out of the store, then trying logging back in.

pioneer 8400 DVD receiver player, as iPhone ios6 update now when connecting the new iPhone with ios6 to my car DVD 8400 unit, when playing music such as on my phone or Pandora the track button does not function or work at all not even if i press skip track forward or back on the unit it doesn't function everything works except that. on listening to radio or anything else related not pairing thru Bluetooth unit works fine, seems there to be Bluetooth update that is not making iPhone and unit not compatible at all. does pioneer need fix this problem with update firmware or thru apple need help. my iPhone was working fine before with previous ios 5 before.

Second phone number for a contact wont appear as an option for text messaging on iPhone 4/IOS6
My iPhone 4 (IOS6) is a work phone and my number is blocked (I have to call a lot of people while out of the office who I don't want to have my cell number). Since I want my friends to know it is me when I call I save their phone number in my contact list with *82 in front of their number. However, I learned that text messaging doesn't seem to work with *82 in front of the number so I also have each contact saved as a second number without the *82 at the beginning for texting only. After "upgrading" to IOS6 I have found that my texting number won't show up when I type the contact name into the address bar in the text message app, just the *82 number that won't work. It used to list all numbers associated with that contact. I know I could just send them a message from the contact card one time and then just open the thread in the messaging app every time after that, but since I am often driving when I am out of the office I use Dragon dictation to compose my texts and then only have to type the contact name into the address line each time instead of typing an entire message. Long story short, I really need it to list all numbers for each contact and not only the one they randomly decide I might want. I have also checked my contacts and ensured that the non-*82 number is listed first in the contact card, that didn't change anything.
There is an option in the Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. Of course this means that your screen layout will be reset but maybe this will 'bump' those hidden apps out of the 'invisible 5th row'. It's worth a try I guess. Did you check to make sure the apps weren't pushed to like the very last screen instead?
