IPhone 5 panorama causes freeze and crash

So basically every time I use panorama on my iPhone 5 it freezes and crashes. Restart using both off and home buttons, and it goes on. Apple please fix ios6 on iPhone 5, my iPhone 4S is fine.

I have this same freezing problem, and it occurs in diverse apps as well as in the iPhone settings themselves.
I notice MANY complaints in the Apple Support Communities about this same freezing problem on iPhone 5s running IOS 6.01 and even the brand new 6.02. The standard response from the "experts" in the support community here -- to reboot or restore the iphone (or visit the apple store or call Apple Care) -- rather misses the point, in my opinion. So many iphone 5 users should not be having the same exact problem!
Instead of band-aid replies to reboot and restore or get Apple tech support involved, we need an actual lasting fix to this systemic problem, so the freezing stops happening for all of us.
The real question is this: What explains this  too-common freezing problem on iPhone 5 running IOS 6x?
I believe that Apple has screwed up, plain and simple, by putting out a device and OS that has not yet been properly vetted. Seems that Apple has been doing this a lot lately (e.g., OS7x Lion, the Apple Maps app), and I suspect this is an internal Apple culture issue -- a pushback against the perfectionism of the late Steve Jobs, perhaps. If so, that's too bad for us devoted Apple product users as well as Apple's investors, quite honestly. Apple Corporation itself needs to reboot and restore its "insanely great" standard of excellence!
Meanwhile, I am still looking for a reliable and permanent way to stop my brand new iPhone 5 from freezing constantly.

  • Why does my iPhone 4S keep freezing and crashing and throwing me out of things

I've only had my phone for 2 months. About a week ago it started throwing me out of Facebook then my photos. Now I can't get online or go to settings or my photos, Facebook or anything else because it freezes and goes blank. What can I do?

    Hello Mia,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone.
I recommend following these steps for an issue like the one you described:
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
If you get to step 5, I recommend backing up your iPhone before performing the restore:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • Preview render playback of multicam sequences causes freeze and crash

I have been editing a timeline with several multicam clips that crashes Premiere anytime I try to play back a rendered preview (green bar) area.
First I render the sequence—playback is initially OK. Then after about 10 minutes, often after I have switched back from another program, without fail the playback will stutter and then freeze altogether on certain clips. Gradually more and more clips on the timeline will 'corrupt' until no playback is possible; the program monitor freezes. When I attempt to Delete Render files, I get the beachball cursor and Ppro locks up completely, prompting a force-quit and sometimes a "serious error has occurred" dialog box and then a crash notice of type "I386_GPFLT"
    OSX 10.9.4
    MacPro5,1
    Nvidia GTX 570
    I have tried so far:
    -deleting preferences
    -deleting cache
    -deleting preview files
    -swapping graphics cards
    -switching to software-only playback
    -swapping memory modules
    -disabling Mavericks' "compressed memory" function
-changing cache and preview locations to another drive
-importing the project into a new one
The problem only occurs on timelines with multicam sequences. Does anyone else have this issue? Any ideas what's going on?

Still encountering this problem after latest update.

  • IPhone 4 Camera freezes and crashes

I have a new iPhone 4 which I have updated to iOS 4.0.1 before using.
The camera does not work. It freezes as soon as you try and use it, and often it restarts the phone.
I do not have a case or anything which might be obstructing the lens. I don't get a chance to switch to the front camera, the app freezes before I can click the icon.
I have tried powering off the phone and restarting and this does not solve the problem.
I will try doing a full restore and seeing if this helps.
I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem - does it require me to return the phone?
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

    Hi,
I have performed the same upgrade to yourself, and have exactly the same issue, however, I have found that resetting the phone (Press and hold both buttons for 10 seconds or so) unlocks the camera for a while. just powering the phone off and on again does nothing.
I've also restored the handset and it does not cure the problem.

  • My itunes will not open at all. it occasionally will open but when i plug my iphone into it the program freezes and crashes. please help as soon as possible

my itunes will not open at all. it occasionally will open but when i plug my iphone into it the program freezes and crashes. please help as soon as possible

i think i might have a solution... i have windows vista and after i installed to latest itunes update everytime i tried to open it it would freeze. I tried everything, including uninstalling itunes and all of its components and reinstalled it numerous times. So i went to the itunes folder in my folders, not on itunes, and i deleted my itunes library and playlists. After that it worked just fine, all of my music was deleted but luckily i had my files saved elsewhere.
I hope this helped! I know its frustrating and APPLE/ITUNES NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!

  • Exchange server mail makes iphone freeze and crash

Hi, i bought my iphone last July and everything has been fine with it until a couple of months ago it started freezing and crashing. i tried restoring it to factory settings, sent it to Apple and they replaced it but it still happens!! it happens every 1-2 days, it crashes, freezes, restarts itself. I'll go to use it and its frozen so i have to reset it. I've overslept a few times when it's frozen over night and the alarm hasnt gone off! its completely fine when its not syncing my mail though.
I connect to my work's exchange server and sync mail, contacts and calender. I found that when i stop syncing the mail, the phone is fine, but i need to check my mail for work.
so ive had 2 phones and restored it a few times and it still does it!
    help please?

When you restored your iPhone, did you restore from your iPhone's backup, or as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup?
Did you transfer your iPhone's backup to the iPhone you received as an exchange under warranty?
If there is a problem with your iPhone's backup, restoring from the backup will also restore the problem.

  • Macbook Pro Mid 2014 Hard Freezes and Crashes

So I bought my Macbook about a month ago, and ever since then Ive been having this same issue over and over again. I have tried every solution apple has thrown at me and nothing has seemed to fix it. I have sent it out for a repair, reinstalled the OSX, Cleared the pRam, and various other things. I have not narrowed down the situation myself and cant seem to figure out what is causing these hard freezes and crashes. It always happens randomly at something GPU related it seems. Almost like the video card gets to stressed out at crashes. From scrolling up the page of a website to switching to a different video on youtube, all these little and sometimes big things have caused it to crash. Apple has sent it out for repair and they claimed that they fixed the logic board, but that didn't work because the issue still persists. I have reinstalled the OSX from guidance of a apple care associate over the phone. Ive eliminated almost every possible situation they have given me and nothing seems to fix it. Im not sure if there is a defect in these particular models or I just got a lemon but either way its frustrating. I will post the specs below and provide any other info that is asked.

  • Mac keeps freezing and crashing

    Hi,
I'm on a late 2009 iMac (3.06 Intel Core 2 Duo, 12 GB 1067 DDR3, 1TB HD) with Yosemite. I installed Yosemite a few days ago. Previously I ran Mountain Lion.
While on Mountain Lion the mac suddenly started freezing and crashing. I could still move the cursor, and most of the time my sound kept working (although the screen had frozen I could keep on calling via Skype - music and videos mostly stopped working after a minute or so), but I had to force turn off the mac. Upon rebooting most of the time I couldn't get past the start-up screen with the grey progress bar and Apple logo. The problem persists with Yosemite. There isn't any specific program which seems to cause it - I've had crashes running many different things. It doesn't seem to be a kernel panic: I've had only one instance where the grey letters would show up. Otherwise it just crashes.
I've tried many things to fix it already:
    - running DiskWarrior and removing corrupted files
    - removing dubious third party extensions
    - removing unnecessary login items/Launch Daemons/Launch Agents (after running EtreCheck)
    - I ran AHT twice (nothing came up) and Rember once (idem)
    - ran recovery mode to verify the disk (nothing came up)
    - ran Safe Boot for a while (no crashes), which causes me to believe it's a software-related problem.
I reinstalled Yosemite yesterday. It will only boot into safe mode since. While booting normally I can't get past the white screen.
About three months ago a faulty HD was replaced and RAM (8 GB) was added, both done in an Apple store. I've no reason yet to believe it's hardware-related because every test comes up clean, but I'm obviously not sure.
I don't know what to do next other than bringing it to the store. Any help would be much appreciated. Because I'm in safe mode my EtreCheck report differs from the normal report - if it's helpful to post it anyway, I will.
    Thanks!

  • N95 Freeze and crashes

Hi can anyone give me advice please on the following?
My N95 is at present at a registered nokia repair centre because it freezes and crashes on a regular basis, this problem i know from the forum is helped by taking the battery out for a short while. Sadly as this does not truly cure the problem i had to send it for repair, because the problem did not happen while the technician was looking at it he has said there is nothing he can do
He also said this was the first N95 they had seen for repair so all could do was re flash the software, as the phone was on the latest FW i cannot see that this would have helped.
Has anyone had the crash and freezing problem repaired, and where you given a reason for the possible cause?

My N95 has also frozen on several occasions. Previously, I was able to get the phone going again by removing the battery for a short while then replacing and switching on. On the last freeze, I tried the same technique, however the phone would not power up at all. I have not changed any firm ware, but the phone was returned to a Nokia repair centre, who have in turn returned it to Nokia. This was 10 days ago and I am still with out the phone, nor non the wiser about the state of the fault.

  • Mail App keeps freezing and crashing after yosemite upgrade.  Cant create new emails.

Mail App keeps freezing and crashing after yosemite upgrade.  Cant create new emails.  Is there a fix to these issues?

    Hi,
When I read these Threads in Yosemite I am filtered to show only the one listing Messages (the App) as the App involved.
This form of tagging a Thread no longer shows up in the current software used to run the Discussions.
Did you use the Mail and the Messages tags ?
It is difficult as many Mail help items refer to emails and "messages".
With me posting to the thread it should raise it to near the top again and maybe someone who knows about Mail will post.

  • ITunes freezes and crashes when I sync my iPhone5

Help! iTunes freezes and crashes every time I try to sync my iPhone 5. Sometimes it freezes at the start of the sync. Sometimes it successfully backs up the phone and freezes at a later step.
Also, after I connect the phone but before I click on sync, if I click on the Apps tab in iTunes, the program also freezes and crashes.
The same iTunes program (v.11.3.1) on the same desktop computer works just fine when my wife syncs her iPhone 4.
What can I do about this? I'd really appreciate advice.

    Hey user1934,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with iTunes when your iPhone 5 is connected and syncing. The following resources may provide a solution:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3219
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Safari freezes and crashes when swiping forward or back pages

I recently updated to Mavericks and I noticed that when I swipe to the left or right when either backpaging or forward paging the active tab freezes and crashes. It doesnt crash the entire safari program just the tab that is active. I can open another new tab and i can continue using the browser. Any ideas?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot insafe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Freezing and crashing....

    Freezing and crashing....
After having read previous posts, it appears that a great many Mac users have experienced the freezing and crashing with Mac OSX.4.11.
Now, Apple™ must have built the OSX.4.11 update with the freezing and crashing element, to cause users to purchase OSX.5. If users experience too many freezes and crashes, users would purchase OSX.5. This would make Apple™ stockholders happy. If your computer does not meet the requirements for OSX.5, then a user would have to purchase a new Mac. This would make stockholders happy.
To prove the above is not the case, then Apple™ should be currently working on an update to fix the freezes and crashes in OSX.4.11. With the amount of American computer engineers in the country, certainly some Mac engineers can work on perfecting OSX.5 and other Mac engineers can work on the fix for OSX.4.11. This would provide American's with jobs.
Many Mac users do not wish to spend an enormous amount of time on the Mac, figuring out why it is crashing or freezing. Many Mac users would prefer having no problems with their machine.
    Question
Do software and hardware companies create products with inherent flaws? By doing this, when a company has to fix the product flaw, the new product generates income. Stockholders happy.
The time that one spends trying to find out why the Mac is not operating correctly, reduces one's personal time. It also causes one to seek software and hardware fixes. This generates income for someone. Stockholders happy.
Hacking is the same. If someone spends hours hacking, cracking and damaging computers, this generates income for the one who creates the solution. Stockholders happy.
I do not want to use my personal family time looking at crash logs, and trying to figure out why my Mac is not working. I want my Mac to work with no freezing or crashing. Then I can spend more time with family. There is no current update for OSX.4.11. Now I must spend family time to determine why the freezing, in the middle of an application. Spending too much time on these matters can become an Mac obsession. Stockholders happy.

I share much of your skepticism, like how would an Insurance Company make money if you didn't have trouble ever?
Anyway, How come the majority of Mac OS10.4.10 Users have no problems?
You'd think that with Millions of Users, that even a 1/10 of 1%, you'd find thousands of complaints!
    Oh, wait...

  • Freezing and crashing too much, too often - why?

Firefox has been freezing and crashing several times a week in the last couple of months. Today, Jan 21, 2011, it froze once and crashed twice before 9:30am EST!!!
I believe that some glitch in FF has caused GMAIL to malfunction. The GMAIL forum has dozens of users who are having difficulties with GMAIL and FF!
I am frustrated and fed up! Until I receive confirmation that all these problems are PERMANENTLY RESOLVED, I will be using GOOGLE Chrome!

seems from scrolling thru the forum that lots of people are having variations of this problem-me too...and yet the number count of individual posts is not inclusive of the reality of how broad spread this problem seems.
