Iphone 5 - Since I have updated to ios7 my facetime and imessage is not working :( Please help!!
Since I have updated my software, my imessage and facetime is not activating. I have tried to reset the phone, holding the lock button and the home button, trying to connect it under different wifi. Nothing seems to be working, it is really frustrating as I am a big user of facetime & imessage and many of my messages are not being recieved due to imessage not working. If anyone has anyother ideas or tips how to help me out I would really really appreciate it!!

My facetime and imessage not working on ipad2. I have used both up until today. Now not able to send or receive. I have phone 4s ad still has capability. What can I do. I have turned off both on both iPad and iPhone and restarted both but still nothing?

My ipod touch seems to have a few issues, however my pre-installed and updated imessage and facetime were literally working last night, and after a breif break to charge battery (the back of the ipod was SUPER HOT) wasn't able to do facetime or imessage, and am STILL NOT today, what gives?? Any suggestions and advice?.
Found the answer, at least for now! Thanks to roryjt, and having to search through tons of post on imessage and facetime issues! Changed the DNS on my ipod for my wireless network to 8.8.8.8 Not sure if it will work outside of my wireless network, but since its an ipod, not an iphone, I usually only use it in my place/on my network. This is my first post and I got a question.
Here's my story
My iPhone 3GS got stolen this week and I had "FindmyiPhone" (iOS 5.0.1) configured, but when I try to locate my iPhone it will show up as "offline".
I've once heared you can trace your iPhone by an EMEI or UPC number or something like that.
Do you guys know more about that so I can trace down my iPhone and can show it the police?

RenzeauI just got my macbook pro stolen last night. the theive opened it and I got the email from findmyiphone. I can see which house it is at, but the thing is cops can't help. Im still watching it on my iphone waiting for them to ope it again so I can see its location. But Im already ****** as $%#% because 911 told me that they cant keep following a missing laptop.
so that was my story, right now my macbook is showing as red also. But keep watching it because they have to turn it on eventually and as long as you check email me when found on icloud.com then you will get an email. Or you can also keep watching on your computer.
So again go on icloud.com and sign in with the itunes account/email that you use on your iphone, you'll see the find my iPhone option there! -

What is terminal? How do I get email back.

Since I have upgraded to ios7 my internet banking page will not fit the screen. Before updating I enlarged the page by using the *2 button in the bottom right hand of the screen, there no longer is that option?
Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless. -

As newer iPhones and iOS versions are made, apps start to drop support for the older versions of the iOS. It looks like you have fallen victim to this. I commend you for sticking with the original iPhone until now, but it looks like it's time for an upgrade if you want to use apps that have dropped support.

Else the only option you have is to fight with the Apple Store "geniuses" to get a free replacement for out of warranty 4S devices. Or try a third party repair like iFixit. The wifi chip might cost you 60-80$ but it is better than paying Apple 200$.
Overheating is the culprit in 4S devices. And its been getting worse with ever successive iOS 7 update. I think 7.0.4 was the final nail in the coffin.
They are not getting my money anymore.. I've had iPhones every since they launched... but no more. Feels like a dead investment after facing this issue. I can never sell my iPhone 4S even if I want to. There have been cases where users just sold their 4S devices, the new owner updated to 7.0.4, wifi stopped working and the seller had to give a refund.
I'm basically sitting on a 650$ white brick. Hmm... I wonder if white bricks sell higher than the standard red bricks

TBH, I can't get a replacement because I am in India where 4S was never launched as an unlocked device and there are no Apple retail stores. Only resellers here like Vodafone/Reliance/Airtel. I live in South Africa, and I had the same problem with my iPhone 4.
After weeks of frustration and swearing, I was in the process of restoring my phone to a previous iOS. To do that you need to turn the "Find my iPhone" option off, since i turned it off, my problem was solved. No need to repair anything or revert back to old iOS.

I would imagine your iPhone was hacked to make it work on your local carrier.
Updating the iOs to 5.xx will lock it back to the original carrier .The carrier holding the lock are the only
entity able to authorise the unlock .You will have to contact them and see if they unlock and the terms the apply -
I backed up my Iphone to itunes so i can do the new Update to IOs 7 and so now that i updated it i want to backup and restore and its not working, Please help!
An iPhone backup to a computer via iTunes stores the photos in a backup file that is only meant to be be used if needed to restore back to the phone. There is 3rd party "extractor" software available but otherwise the photos are not directly viewable.
The backup via iTunes was a good idea and your Camera Roll photos should be there and should be able to be restored to your new phone. However if it was me I wouldn't rely on that alone. I would also import the photos to a computer where you can see and verify that you have a copy. That is a good idea at any time (not just when you know you might need it). Any phone can be lost, broken, suffer hardware issues, etc at any time and lose all data on it.
