IPhone 6 bug bug bug!!!

  • IPhone Keyboard Entry Bug

When using "My Account" (bookmark), there's 2 field to insert.
One is "Wireless Number" and the other one is "Password".
I found out I mistyped one of the number of "Wireless Number"
    after typing in 10 characters.
That field is 10 digit(phone # with area code) and I couldn't insert anything.
    I mean even "backspace"(erase) didn't work.
Which means I couldn't change anything after typing in 10 characters.
I think it's definitely iPhone keyboard entry bug.
    Please fix it ASAP.

Please call 1-800-My-iPhone to report this issue. A friendly Agent can log this and get it to the proper department.

  • Is there a Bug or Bug Fix in iPlanet 4.1 for URL Forwarding???

    Here's the issue...
We are forwarding a number of URL's from one website to another.
When we create these under the iPlanet Web Server Admin UI, the URL's appear, and get written to obj.conf, and the Web Server appears to "Save and Apply" the changes, effectively restarting the Solaris Process ID.
The problem is that the httpd process does not actually restart, and the URL forwards return a 404.
If we manually restart the Web Server daemon, everything appears to funtion properly.
I have been searching through the iPlanet Knowledge Base, and not haveing any luck, so I am hoping someone here may have an idea.
    Thanks!

  • A fix for the iTunes -- iPhone indefinite sync bug

Moderators feel free to move this to the appropriate place. I was having this problem for a while now. I'd connect my iphone and it would sync forever. I'd have to manually abort the sync. This led to stuff never actually syncing, and music disappearing from my iPhone. I did some Googling and came up with some solutions, and I tried one myself and it worked perfectly.
    1. In iTunes, go to preferences, then go to Devices. Make sure the box is checked, that says "Prevent iPhones, iPods, and iPads from syncing automatically. Press OK.
    2. If your iDevice is already connected, and already "infinitely syncing" you will have to manually stop the sync at this time. If not, connect your iDevice.
    3. Still in iTunes, click on your device in the left-hand column, and go to the Music tab.
    4. Uncheck the big box at the top that says "Sync Music"
    5. Click the "Apply" button in the lower right-hand corner.
    6. WAIT PATIENTLY. This will take a VERY long time. It WILL look like it is still hanging indefinitely, but I promise you, it is not. It took about 30 minutes for me, and the entire time it said "Finishing Sync." I thought it wasn't even going to work, but eventually, I noticed it started updating Podcasts, and a bunch of other stuff, presumably accumulated changes over the duration of this bug. I think at this time it is also file-checking your entire iDevice, presumably because of all those times you had to manually interrupt the synchronization.
    7. After the iPhone fully completes its sync, Re-check the "Sync Music" box, and click Apply again. For best results, just pick your 1 or 2 favorite playlists to sync right now, then later tonight you can sync back your entire library, and leave it to sync as you watch TV or eat dinnner or what not... don't force yourself to sit through syncing thousands of songs if you don't have to, lol.
It is working for me after following these steps. I have NOT tried setting iTunes back to automatic syncs (undoing Step #1). I'd imagine that doing so will re-trigger the bug. You're welcome to try, and I will maybe try tonight when I am free, but for now, I'm actually late for class, but I really wanted to share this because I know this is a pretty big issue, especially if you love music like I do.

Backup, restore as a new device, restore your backup.

  • IPhone e-Mail bug: Text cut off below a picture

    Hi Guys,
Just discovered a very annoying bug in iPhone's mail client: If you are creating a new e-mail and paste a picture into it, the text below the picture will be cut off completely. So if you have a mail: "text before [PICTURE] text after" then it will only send: "test before [PICTURE]" and the "text after" will be dissapeared to the thin air.
This is rather annoying and I would consider it as a serious bug.
    Tamas
PS: I use iPhone 5 and iOS 6.1 and use Exchange mail settings for accessing Gmail (to get push notifications from Gmail)

    Hi 1980LND,
Thanks for your help, I am not convienced if backup and restore would help. In the meanwhile I have found few discussions about this from 2010 -- Apple blames Microsoft Outlook protocol for this, but in my opinion this is wrong. If that is a known bug Apple should really warn their customers about losing data if they try to do that. Or just fix it even if Microsoft broke some RFCs. But yeah, with a message box with the warning "Due to a bug in Outlook protocol you are going to lose your text below the picture. Do you really want to continoue and lose the text below your picture? [I am Dumb Yes] [God No!]" would be sufficient, just do not let me hang and wonder where my text evaporated.
    Thanks again

  • IPhone 5 two bugs in photo app.

Sorry, don't know where to submit bug reports... hope this place is okay.
Bug #1 - photos are not properly fit to screen.  To see this, take a screenshot of the home screen, or, say, of your favorite video game on the iPhone 5.  Now, look at that photo in the photo app, and double-tap it as needed to "fit" that photo to the screen.  You'll notice black space at the bottom of the photo, and the top part of the photo is off-screen.  So, if you took a screenshot of the home screen, the "menu bar" (or whatever it's called) will be off-screen.
Bug #2 - the "cancel" button that comes up in the delete menu doesn't work.  Try to delete a photo, then hit the cancel button.  You'll see the button is only barely functional - only the top sliver of the cancel button seems to accept input.

#1 was in reference to screenshots, not camera photos.  Screenshots should obviously be the same aspect ratio as the screen.  In any event, fitting a photo to screen (even if it has a different aspect ratio) should not cause part of the photo to go off-screen.  I'm not talking about "letterboxing" here... the black space in question is ONLY on the bottom of the photo, not the top - the top part instead goes off-screen.  That is definitely a bug, and I have verfied that I don't get that bug in on my old iPhone4 (updated to iOS6.)  I don't have a 4S so I can't test it on that.
I have also verfied that bug #2 does not happen on my iPhone4.

  • IPhone 5S: Some Bugs I've Noticed

Hello! I got an iPhone 5S for Christmas, I absolutely love the phone. But I've noticed some bugs, so far two. So the first one is an iTunes Radio bug. Sometimes when I open it and click on a station. It will pause for a second, and kick me back to my home screen. It rarely happens but is annoying. Is there a fix for it? Also the second bug. I think it might happen on certain apps but I'm not sure, so far it has happened to me on the "YouTube" app, and one of my games "Hay Day". It's kinda weird, I opened these apps, and both did exactly the same both times. I tried closing out of them by the home button, and I tried locking my phone. And neither of these actions responded. I even tried turning off my phone. But still no response.
So after a minute or two it reboots to the lock screen. It's very annoying also. Is there a way to fix this as well? These are the only problems I've had with the phone so far. And I sorta want them fixed!

  • IPhone 3G Keyboard Bug/Problem/Feature? Can anyone reproduce this?

    Hi -
I'm now on my 3rd iPhone 3g (16GB, Black) and I'm still having trouble with it.
As of now I cannot comment on reception/3G issues, since I have only had this particular iPhone for about an hour and a half. However, I've encountered a strange problem when trying to enter a company's name in Contacts on multiple iPhones after multiple restores from Recovery Mode.
Please help me reproduce this and figure out if it is intended behavior or not; both the Rockaway and Bridgewater, NJ Apple Stores did not seem to know.
Here is what I am doing:
    1) Go to contacts (via either the phone menu or the Home Screen Icon)
    2) Click the plus sign on the top right
    3) Click "First Last" as if to type in a name
    4) Click in the 3rd field, for Company
    5) Type "R.I.T.A."
    6) Hit backspace once or twice...
What occurs is quite strange - the whole text field will sometimes delete itself, "click-click-clicking" along the way as if I am hitting backspace over and over again.
I hope someone can shed some light on this issue.
    Thanks.
    -Scott

sburck; I have had the same thing happen to me when drafting an email. I type several sentences and then all of a sudden it starts doing backspaces deleting characters until I stop it by hitting some letter. It has erased in this matter whole sentences before I could stop it, and has done this maybe a half dozen times. This really sounds to me to be a bug. Since there is no hard key to stick, this is most likely something in the firmware/software. I have only seen this so far when writing a email.

  • Dangerous iPhone headphone volume bug

I've discovered a potentially dangerous bug with the volume in IOS7.1 on my iPhone 5S
If I engage the volume limit (or the EU limit), this causes the volume to jump to max whenever I play a new track or skip a track in Music. This leads to very dramatic jumps in playback level.
    Anyone else experiencing this?

Try killing and re-starting the Music app, or simply Reset your iPhone, or maybe a full Restore.

  • Workaround for iPhone smart playlist bug

There is a bug (do a search for smart playlist in this forum) with smart playlists not displaying the correct songs on the iPhone.
I just tried something that seems to have worked...
I have a playlist in iTunes called "Recently Added" which I want to keep synced with my iPhone.
I created a new smart playlist called "Recently Added (iPhone)". The playlist has one rule: "Playlist is Recently Added" with live updating checked.
I now sync this second playlist with the iPhone and all the correct songs show up in it.

    Excellent idea Jeff.
Your approach works for the same reason that my original idea works.
The inclusion of another playlist as a condition in a smart playlist, causes the playlist to become "rasterized" or static.
The developers wanted smart playlists to be really smart - instead of copying a static list of songs from the smart playlist to the iPhone/Pod, they simply send the definition of the playlist to the iPhone and let it calculate which songs from it's own library belong on it.
The nice thing about their approach is that the playlists will continue to live update on the Phone in-between syncs - so if you have a playlist called "Last 25 played" it will have the last 25 played songs on your iPhone, instead of the last 25 played songs that you played in iTunes.
The problem of course, is that there's a bug in the way the iPhone calculates these rules (probably related to the porting of code to a new architecture).
So why does this fix work?
Well, my theory is that when you create a smart playlist that references another playlist, iTunes simply calculates the songs that should appear on the smartplaylist and sends a literal list to the iPhone/Pod.
This solves the problem that would be created if you only sync the parent playlist, and not the playlists it references. (IE, if you would want to be able to sync the "25 most played" playlist without also having to sync the "MusicOnly" playlist).

  • IPhone 5 SMS bug

I just got my iPhone 5 a few days ago. Set it up as a new iPhone, synced contacts via iCloud, used it as normal. I noticed iMessage was off, so proceeded to turn it on. Activation was quick. HOWEVER, I could not send iMessages. I solved this problem with my iPhone 4 by turning iMessage off, restarting the phone then turning it on. It worked with the iPhone 5. I was able to send one iMessage. Then when I tried to send another, it would not send. I thought iMessage was having problems, so I left it like that. Whenever I would send an SMS, it would send at the speed of an iMessage (using wifi). For example, if I were to send a 120 character text to 15 people, it would instantly send. I restored my phone (on 6.0.2) and bug is gone. However, restoring from backup brought that bug up again. Has anyone else experienced this?

just don't restore it from backup.

  • Iphone 5 tonality BUG

    Hello,
I have bought the iphone 5 three weeks ago and i have noticed a tonality bug. When i make a phonecall i heard just one tonality and then silence until the person i call answers. I know that it's a problem of IOS 6 but when Apple will release the new IOS?
    Thanks.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router if possible)
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • IPhone "No Content" bug - A Huge Error

I've enjoyed having my iPhone for years now but I keep getting bitten by this incredibly fatal flaw in the iPod portion of the device. Occasionally, when I sync my iPhone up to my computer and try to listen to the latest podcasts I've or videos that I downloaded and just synced to my iPhone, the iPhone tells me that there is "No Content" on the device, yet when I hook it up to my computer and look at its library through iTunes I can see all the music, video, and podcasts and play them from the device. Whenever I try to access them on the iPhone itself, however, I get the "Nope, there's no content here". THIS HAS HAPPENED ON FOUR (4) SEPARATE OCCASIONS. I was able to resolve the issue twice, once by renaming some incredibly long video filenames to shorter ones, and another time by re-authorizing my computer to my iTunes account (the same computer is authorized twice now). The two latest occasions of this annoying and poorly-handled bug I was unable to recover from without doing a full restore of my iPhone. The most recent incident occurred right after I tried placing only five (5) iTunes U videos onto my iPhone. I tried unsyncing the files and taking them off the phone, but the "No Content" bug still remained.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening to quite a large number of iPhones? I have a theory that if too much media content is placed on the iPhone, the index of the file system somehow gets corrupted on the iPhone and it can no longer recognize the content that is on the device. I'm basing this off of previous experience with when I synced a television series with incredibly long filenames and received the "No Content" bug and most recently with the iTunes U videos (which had fairly long filenames themselves).
It seems like quite the engineering flaw if the iPhone is touted as a multimedia device with so much storage if you can't use most of the storage to actually go towards the use of media.
Does anyone know how to remedy this "No Content" bug WITHOUT having to do a full restore of the iPhone? I shouldn't have to restore my phone every time I want to put new videos on it.

People generally get help more easily when their posts are short and to the point like yours. Longer rambling, hand wringing posts such as the OP tend to put the helpers off.
And "helpers" like yourself tend to put off those seeking help by making condescending remarks, insulting them by calling them names, and coming off as an arrogant, sarcastic jerk. The "rambling" post was to help give the different situations in which I encountered the same problem, hoping it would somehow help diagnose the root issue (much like describing symptoms to an illness) and help those that have a similar issue in the future.
"incredibly fatal flaw" - its a minor bug on a few machines and hardly the end of life as we know it ?
"Minor bug" and "incredibly fatal flaw" are subjective to the person's viewpoint. An error in some spreadsheet program that adds several cells together incorrectly can be seen as a minor bug to someone who doesn't use spreadsheets all that often, but can be viewed as a "fatal flaw" to an accountant that works with numbers every day.
Occasionally, when I sync my iPhone up to my computer
So its not doing it all the time then ?
No, it is not all the time because I don't sync videos to my iPhone all the time. Audio content is the primary thing that I change out on my iPhone on a regular basis and this "No Content" issue only presents itself when I either add movies or TV shows.
THIS HAS HAPPENED ON FOUR (4) SEPARATE OCCASIONS.
So thats the sum total of times in how many years you have had it ?
I used the collective "my iPhone" in my OP when stating that I enjoyed it for many years. I've had both the iPhone 2G and 3G without this issue ever coming up, but with the 3GS I've had this issue come up 4 times. That's 4 times in less than a year. Note that these 4 times are for the total times in which a simple re-sync could not resolve the issue, otherwise the "No Content" bug count would be much higher.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening to quite a large number of iPhones?
There are ten million or more iPhones and three of you on the thread. That is NOT 'quite a large number of iPhones' no matter how dramatic you try to make it sound.
Just because only three posted in this thread does not mean that there are only three other users that have the problem. Apple's forums aren't the only source for troubleshooting (and with your "help" I'm not surprised more people are not using these forums). Try putting "iphone no content" into Google and I'm sure you'll see many more people like the four in this thread having very similar issues. No matter how much you downplay or how insignificant you try to make it sound does not mean this is an isolated incident.
I have a theory that if too much media content is placed on the iPhone, the index of the file system somehow gets corrupted on the iPhone and it can no longer recognize the content that is on the device.
Wrong - I have a full 32Gig of video, TV, music and have never had a problem like your, and I'd bet millions of others haven't either. You are probably correct though that its a file corruption and the way to solve that is with a Restore.
The reason why I called it a theory is because I have been able to sometimes un-corrupt the file system by unsyncing the video content I put on, which I would think one would not be able to do with a corrupt filesystem. This issue may also be something different such as filenames with excessive periods or very long filenames that could confuse the iPod software.
It seems like quite the engineering flaw if the iPhone is touted as a multimedia device with so much storage if you can't use most of the storage to actually go towards the use of media.
Please stop being a drama queen - extrapolating your issue and suggesting the entire iPhone is flawed is ridiculous. The vast majority of people with iPhones use the device to its capacity without fault. To suggest otherwise is a bit naive.
Your statement has merit, but the constant condescending tone of your post and now resulting to name-calling is a bit childish.
Do a Restore, not a reset and see how much 'Other" memory resides on the machine.
If you genuinely have to do a full Restore (which can take hours) then you probably have faulty iPhone in which case Applecare is your friend.
We actually get to a part where you try to contribute to the conversation, granted we had to scroll down quite a ways to find out your simple answer is "Do a restore or go to Apple." You probably would have saved everyone a lot of time by just writing the one short sentence instead of breaking down my entire post line by line, insulting me, and then giving virtually no help to resolve the problem whatsoever. Now I have probably wasted just as much time responding to your brazen and inconsiderate post.
I do like to help but do get pretty irritated when people overexaggerate their problems and act as if the world is ending.
Welcome to the world of technical support. Everyone expresses their problems in their own way. Not everyone can see their problems your way and break them down into words that are pleasing to you, so you shouldn't expect them to and then get irritated at them for reaching out for help in the only way they know how.
You would probably be better off not helping if this is how you contribute whenever you post a response on these forums. People that get irritated, treat people like excrement, and try to make them feel dumb are not for a support forum or any technical help of any kind. Please do us a favor and stay out of this thread if you're not going to actually help solve the issue or give any kind of helpful information that could lead to a solution.
    Thanks.

Somebody else pointed out that the position of the volume slider changes but the actual volume does not (ie: it shows it's only at 50% when it's really at 100%) which does seem to be the case.
