Iphone 6 won't delete photos

I restored my iPhone 6 thru iTunes from my iMac (as my iPhone 3G became useless) Now I  cannot delete photos from my iPhone 6 (which were transferred from iPhobe 3G). Any help please?

Hello joemalta,
It may be that these photos were synced via iTunes, and, as such, can be deleted from your iPhone by deselecting the option to sync photos.
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
Click Apply.

iPhone 6 won/t delete photos using iPhoto

They are on the phone. I import them as usual, and then select to delete them off the phone. Then iPhoto says "deleting" but then the photos never come off of the phone.

  • IPhone can't delete photos

When syncing my iPhone, I keep getting "an unknown error (-39)" when the iPhone begins to delete photos to make room for more podcasts, for example. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Glad you were able to fix it! I have run into a couple of "oddities", and usually doing what you did cleared them up. I was syncing photos, and they appreared in the wrong folders. This happened after I synced first, then added photos to the PC folders, and resync to add the new photos. I unchecked everything, deleted all the photos, rechecked and resynced, and all was well. It seem the iPhone got a little "confused".

  • IPhone won't email photo

I tried to email a photo from the camera roll and everytime the app just shuts down. I select the photo then select mail, the photo then shows up in the message part of the email. I then try to put the address in and this is when it usually shuts down. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi carlsonart,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Is the issue only happening with one photo, or with any photo from your camera roll?
Are you able to open your Mail program, compose a message, and then insert the photo?
(See page 52 of iPhone User Guide below)
    manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Send a photo or video in a message: Tap the insertion point to display the selection buttons.
Tap Insert Photo or Video, then choose a photo or video from an album.
If the issue occurs with more than one photo using either method, then I would suggest you import your photos to the computer as an extra backup, then restore the iPhone.

  • IPhoto won't delete photos from camera after importing. It used to....

Hello...anybody have any thoughts on this issue? I always check the 'delete after importing' option when connecting camera and importing new photos. Recently, the photos have remained on the camera and I have to delete pictures from my camera manually instead of iPhoto doing this. It seems that after I upgraded to OS X 10.5 I noticed this issue. Needless to say if I forget to delete from the camera, iPhoto wants to import the old photos when I have new pics to import. Thanks for any help.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
We've seen occasional reports of this with 10.5. Start with the troubleshooting basics:
    1. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
    2. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. You'll need to reset your User options afterwards.
    3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.
That said, experienced users do not recommend letting iPhoto delete the pics from your card. If there has been a problem with the transfer you won't know about it until after the erase is complete. It's a couple of seconds work to reformat the card using your camera.

  • Iphone won't delete messages

I have an iPhone 5s, and before that I had a 4s. Back when I upgraded to ios 7 on my 4s, I experienced a problem where I could not delete texts, and when I got my 5s, the issue persisted. So here is what's happening: lets say I want to delete all the messages with my girlfriend, I go to the conversation and I delete it like normal, but then I want to text a friend. So I tap on the convo of my friend and suddenly my phone gets real slow, and about 15 seconds later the convo opens up, but it only shows the last message sent by either of us, and when I try to send a text, it won't send. So I turn my phone off and back on (I've also tried holding the home button and lock button at the same time) and when I get back into the messaging app, my girlfriends messages are back. but I can send texts again. That's my problem. But I've noticed that my messaging is taking up tons of space and id like to get rid of it. So I was searching around and a guy on the apple forums had a solution where I would turn off messages in spotlight search and then go to the message app and delete everything in it, then close out every running application and then do a reset. He said to repeat it multiple times and the space being used would slowly go down. but when I do that and I turn my phone off and then back on, all my messages are still there and the space used does not go down. I dont know what I should do.

The person on the Apple forums was deeply incorrect

  • Messages on iPhone won't delete

So everytime I try to delete a whole conversation on my iPhone 4s with iOS7, it goes away from my messages, but then the entire app will freeze up. At this point when I go to a conversation only the latest message sent or recieved will be shown, even though I knoe more are in the thread. I won't be able to send or recieve messages when this happens. Then when I close out the app and reopen it, it shows I have no messages at all, even if I only deleted one conversation, it just comes up as "New Message" this is really annoying because the only solution to get Messages to work again is turn the entire phone off and on again. Then all the conversations are back, including those that I "deleted" Need a fix ASAP because my messages are taking up a lot of space. Thanks!

Make sure the settings in your iphone and on your computer match for where deleted messages go. On the iphone, go to settings>mail>yourdotmacaccount, tap advanced, and it should show you that deleted messages are being put in "Deleted Messages". On your mac, if you don't have a mailbox that says "Deleted Messages" you're fine, because that means that you've told it (or it automatically chose it) that the mailbox "Deleted Messages" is your Trash. On the computer it shows just "Trash" for whatever mailbox is chosen for deleted messages.

  • IPHONE 5 RETRIEVE DELETED PHOTOS WITHOUT BACKUP

    Hi,
    Hope anyone could help me.
Is there any way to retrieve my photos (taken last night then accidentally deleted earlier this morning)???
Just got my new iphone 5 (last week) and I forgot to ON my icloud that's why I dont have the backup files.
Please help me, I hate this feeling. I really need to retrieve all the important photos.
    Thank you.

You can use iOS data recovery, I've tried and test it on iOS 6 on my iPhone 4, so I can't guarantee anything for an iPhone 5 but I would be fairly sure it would work.
First restore your iPhone 5 from backup so it has all your pics which you want to save on your phone (among the useless extra stuff you don't want). Then back up your phone and open iOS data recovery and locate your most recent backup. Find photo file and select then and export them to your desktop (along with the info which it asks, required to restore into a backup).
Then restore your phone to new and do not restore from backup. Once it's back to factory settings, back up your phone (obviously this will backup practically nothing as you have just restored it). Then open it and locate the clean backup you just created. Then choose "import" and select the pic file and import them into your backup. Once this is done, go to iTunes and choose restore from backup and select this backup. This should keep everything clean, and just put the photos back onto your phone, aka your photos and contacts.

  • HT4859 If I delete the camera roll on my iPhone will it delete photos on my iPad /pc

My iPhone displays the message that it can not back up to the cloud because their are too many photos on it but it then says any items deleted from one device will remove them from connected devices and I do not want to lose them by not fully understanding what i should be doing.

They were initially setup with the smae Apple ID but when you delete the iCloud account from the phone you disassociate iCloud items on your phone.
If you want to rid the device of the Apple ID completely you will need to sign out in seceral places:
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account
Settings > Messages > Turn off iMessage
Setings > FaceTime > Turn off FaceTime
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > Sign out
Settings > Game Center > Apple ID > Sign out
Note: You can keep the iTunes & App Stores sign in to share purchases without any effect on anything else
You should consider getting your own Apple ID.

  • Z30 won't delete photos or move photo files to other folder

O/S was updated to 10.3.1.2582 today.  Since the update I can no longer delete or move photos.
I've tried deleting single photos as well as multiple photos and I've tried moving single photos and multiple photos to another album.
When I try to delete I get a popup that says:  Delete Failed - This item(s) could not be deleted
    Tried restarting device already...didn't work
    Please advise

I am wondering if something went wrong with the SD card. This would be a coincidence. Remove the SD card and read it with an SD card reader on a PC.
Another idea would be to remove and re-insert the SD card. Then reboot the phone before doing the above...

  • Deleting messages on iPhone won't delete on .Mac

I have an issue where if I delete an email on my iPhone and then log in to .Mac mail, I still see the message there. Further inspection shows that the message is in the .Mac trash AND in the inbox - almost like the message was copied rather than moved. Not sure how to get the sync to finally take effect. I think if I check mail via mail.app it will force the sync. Also, if I delete one of the many messages in the .mac inbox, it will suddenly delete all the messages that should have already been deleted.
Anybody else see this? I have a buddy who is also able to reproduce this "bug".

  • IPhoto "09 Won't Delete Photos

I'm using iPhoto '09 and backing everything to Time Machine and to DVD discs. I'm trying to clear some space on my computer's hard drive by deleting old, backed up, photos.
I moved them to the iPhoto trash and emptied it. But the "ghosts" of past events are still there and the Library still reads at a little over 9GB.
When I say "ghosts" I mean that the events are still there but appear empty until I scroll then the images are visible while scrolling but not at any other time.
I tried dragging them to the trash again and emptying it again but that makes iPhoto unresponsive.
Why are the images still there and how do I delete them?

The images you see are simply cached data.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

  • Songs on my IPhone won't delete when syncronized

I am able sync new songs to my IPhone, but the songs that were on there prior my IOS upgrade are still there.  I can not delete the old songs and they take up a lot of the memory.  The old songs are not removed when I sync even if I remove all songs through ITunes.  The old songs are available to play from the phone but are not visible in ITunes.  I upgraded from 6.7 to 7.1 IOS and these songs were on my phone prior to the upgrade.
How do I free up the memory and remove the old songs?

    resynch your music.
