IPhone: Anyone else get a "featured" app in the Apple stores?

Several weeks ago I got a call from Apple and they wanted to use my app, Distant Suns, for some promotional deal. I was asked to do a version that "I would feel comfortable giving away." Well, I just saw it in one of the stores preloaded on an iPhone demoing Edu software (pretty cool!). But what I am wondering is if it is only meant to be loaded on demo phones, why not just use the full version, instead of having something peppered with upsell messages? I was hoping they might take all of those apps and craft a special featured-demo section in the Appstore targeted to new or would-be customers, but haven't seen anything like that.
Does anyone else have the same experience and know what the full story might be. It's very flattering to have mine plucked out of 20k+ apps but it seems like there might be a little more to the story here that hasn't been completely revealed.

Sorry but no, that is not possible in iOS. Other than what is offered in the Restrictions, there is no way to lock apps in general unless the app itself has a password feature. You can in iOS 6 lock the iPad into a single app, but that's your only option.
It's a tradeoff; apps can't affect each other except in very restrictive ways in iOS which makes such features from third parties impossible, but it also renders getting malware infecting your iOS device extremely unlikely, something not the case with Android-based devices.
Regards.
