Iphone backup on windows vista

I was trying to find the post to have everyone on the same page, but I guess why keep it simple right?
If you are running windows vista and need to find your iphone 5s backup follow this steps:
1.press the start button on the left hand side bottom corner of the task bar
2.a screen will pop up, find the shortcut that says computer
3.Open the computer short cut, it will display the drives in your system
4. on the left hand top side find the tab that says Organize, click on it - it will open up  (in this menu select Folder and search options)
5.there is going to be a few tabs on the top, select View then look at the center there will be a folder that says Hidden files and folders
6. Under Hidden files and folders make sure the option (show hidden files and folders) is checked
7. press ok
8.Now go to your C: drive (the drive that is actually runing your pc) click on it
9. Select Users - There will be 2 folders that you do not need to touch(Default and Public) You need to look for the folder listed with your user name
10. Open your user folder / go to folder (AppData) - go to folder (Roaming) - go to folder (Apple Computer) - go to folder (MobileSync)
11. Now you can see a folder named (Backup) inside this folder is were your iphone 5s backup data is (encrypted or unencrypted depends on how you back
     it up from itunes.
12. all your iphone 5s back up files are here, anything you do with this files is on you.

As you backup the iPhone in iTunes, it overwrites the last backup. Files are kept as they are changed, so that would explain how you get different dates in your backup folder. The only backups that are saved and not overwritten are the ones done just prior to a restore. You do have the option to go back in time on a Windows computer, however depending on the last time you set a restore point in Windows, it could be back further than you are willing to go.

  • Iphone 3Gs on Windows Vista 64 bit

What programs are included with the iphone 3Gs for downloading photograph to a windows vista 64 bit machine? Is there an iphoto version for windows? How about video downloading?

Guys/Gals - I was able to fix this. I don't know for all versions, but here's the system/setup I was having problems with:
    * iPhone 3G software version 3.1
    * iTunes latest two versions (current 9.0, also previous version before I tried upgrading)
    * Windows Vista 64-bit
I've been able to connect my phone to iTunes and download pictures in Windows, but after a recent Windows Update, OR a recent iTunes upgrade, OR a recent Norton 360 update (I didn't know which was the killer) I could no longer see the iPhone in Windows OR iTunes. Nothing could. I couldn't transfer music, couldn't transfer photos.
I did both a RESTORE on the iPhone and UPGRADED iTunes this week to version 9.0 and finally got a solid connection between iTunes and the iPhone. That is the first (current) fix.
But still couldn't "see" it in Windows Vista Explorer.
After reading and reading and reading, and finding no workable solution (I tried: shutting off User Control, shutting down the Windows and Norton Firewalls, tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, and performed those steps in many configurations), I also tried resinstalling the drivers through Control Panel (but it kept finding some generic "Windows Camera Driver" or some such), looking on my computer for usbaapl.sys (not there), I started looking on the web for it (but I'm always nervous about downloading drivers unless from the specific vendor's site), I finally did a search for "usbaapl" - and FOUND a driver in c:\windows\system32\drivers\ called "usbaapl64.sys".
On a fluke, I first created a COPY of the file, and renamed the copy "usbaapl.sys" (since that file did NOT exist on my machine previously).
Voila. I can now see the phone in Windows Vista Explorer.
Someone at Apple isn't talking to someone at Microsoft, I think. Microsoft Vista x64 (with all current updates) is still looking for usbaapl.sys - iTunes is now shipping with usbaapl64.sys.

  • Is it possible to restore an iPhone backup from Windows 7 in Macbook Pro? How?

I losy my 1st gen iPhone and the Windows 7 laptop it was synchronized to. I have a full backup of the laptop on an external drive. I can see my iPhone backup files on my external drive.

    Does anybody have an idea?

  • IPhone Syncing Problems (Windows Vista)

I've ran into a problem, where I can't sync any of my photos, i've seen problems but not like this, almost all the time when i sync my photos it gives me a blue screen error (windows vista) sometimes it will sync some of them but they arent viewable or even able to find on the phone, another problem im having is i have 3 computers and i cant sync my 3 librarys on my iphone i want all 3 to be the same any ideas... thanks,
    greg

    greg,
This article may help with your blue screens when you are trying to sync photos:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306048
Also, you can only sync to one computer at a time. Therefore, you will not be able to use the iPhone with 3 different libraries without erasing what's on the iPhone when you sync it with a new computer. You can find more information about syncing in this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesWin/7.3/en/2626win.html
If you want all 3 libraries to have the same content, you would need to copy the content on each computer to all the others. For more information on how to transfer your iTunes content to each computer, check out this article:

    Good luck!

  • IPhone sync with Windows Vista

    Hi,
My Outlook was syncing fine with my iphone until I was asked to change my password. When I did this, my mail wouldn't come in anymore. So I erased my account and tried to set it up again. Now I can't even connect to the server! It says my password is invalid even though it works fine with my work computer and webmail.
I heard that it will not sync because of a software issue between the iphone and Windows Vista server or something. Where can I get help for this??? I have no mails, contacts, or calendars. My IT department doesn't support iphone so they won't touch it, and the phone company has no idea also.

If all this changed after you had to change the password to access your server, then perhaps you are mistyping the password.

  • Receiveing "Unable to load data from Sync Services" message following iOS 5 Upgrade on iPhone 4 w/ Windows Vista, iTunes 10.5.1.  How do I repair?

I upgraded my phone to iOS 5 yesterday.  Lost several apps which I restored through my Purchased list in the iStore.  Now when I try to sync the phone using iTunes, I receive an error message advising iTunes is unable to load data from Sync Services, and to disconnect and try again later.  Have tried again later...no difference.  After I acknowledge the error, iTunes continues to say it is Syncing the phone, but it continues to idle.
I have an iPhone 4.  I am running iTunes 10.5.1.42 on a Windows Vista system.
What do I need to do to clear this up?

  • I have an airport express that i am using for my wifi network to include iphone 4 ipad2 windows vista laptop and a hp eprint printer.  My internet is coming from my iphone 4 via peronal hotspot.

The problem is i only am able to be on one or the other, at first i was able to be on internet and connected to wifi network thus being able to surf and print how do i need to fix this?

You are asking several different questions. If you need to store your photos, music, and movies on an external volume, you certainly can. Any externally connected hard disk drive will work, connected either directly to your Mac or to your Time Capsule as a shared volume.
You should not rely upon using that as a backup device though. Although you certainly may use it for both purposes, it is a better idea to have dedicated backup devices for a variety of reasons not limited to redundancy. You would not want to simultaneously lose all your pictures as well as your backup. If they are all on the same device, that could happen. Furthermore, a backup cannot back up the volume on which it is running.
As for adding an Extreme or Express, using its LAN port for your iMac, and then enable Internet sharing so you can effectively use the iMac as a "hotspot", you can do that too, but I am unclear on what benefit you believe this arrangement would convey for you.
An Extreme's Guest network is separate from its Main network; that is the reason for having it.

  • Connecting iPhone 3G to Windows Vista laptop

Is there a way I can connect my iPhone to my laptop via bluetooth? I have tried directly-no go also have tried a bluetooth dongle (2.7) but again, no go..
I have successfully upgraded my iPhone to iOS4

You can't do it, as tethering is not supported on the iPhone at this time. Perhaps in a future version of the iPhone software it will be available, but until then you'll just have to wait and see.
If you have further iPhone questions, you should probably post them in the iPhone forums:

  • Where can I find my iphone backup files in windows 7?

My computer died and all I have left is the hard drive.  Fortunately it is in good working order and is readable.  I successfully transfered all of my apps and music, but cannot find my pairing information.  Consequently, I cannot sync my devices.  Where are my iphone and ipad backup files located?

    Hello Thom,
Good to hear that you are still able to recover information from your old hard drive.  I found an article that provides the locations of the iOS backup files:
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press theReturn key.
You can find the full article here:

I hope this helps get you back on track!

  • How do i connect my windows vista laptop to iPhone personal hotspot? Will it still work if my laptop doesnt have iTunes installed?

I am currently using iPhone 4 and windows vista laptop. i cant seem to get my windows vista laptop to connect to the personal hotspot on my iPhone using USB. Is it because iTunes is not installed in my windows vista laptop?
I have tried it on a MacBook Pro and it works perfectly fine.

when you switch your hotspot on your phone you will see a user password - when you switch your laptop on and search for your iphone connect and you will be asked for the user password once you enter it and click connect you will link the two devices and they will work together as long as you have a good signal and good data allowance you shouldn't have any issues
