Iphone bluetooth headset won't answer

anyone have this problem?
i wouldn't call my bluetooth headset "dead", but when a call comes through and i push the botton at the top, it no longer connects me to the caller. i can't hear them, although they claim to be able to hear me. i have to call them back in order to have a converstation.
i bought it at the apple store online back in may/june. if i bring it to the apple store, will they give me a new one?

Hello Joolader. Posted below is an Article that seems based on what it is your doing. I have also posted a couple other articles along with Damon's, As well as some additional troubleshooting steps.
iPhone and iPhone Bluetooth Headset: About auto-pairing http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305665
iPhone Bluetooth Headset troubleshooting http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305777
How to pair iPhone Bluetooth Headset http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305664
Additional Troubleshooting.
1. Turn iPhone off then back on. Simply hold down the Sleep/Wake button and slide to power off, When the screen turns dark. Press the Sleep/Wake Button for 3 seconds till you see an Apple Logo. Once the iPhone boots backup, Now try Bluetooth again.
2. Reboot the iPhone. Press Sleep/Wake and Home button together, Let go once you see Apple Logo. iPhone will Reboot and come back, Now test Bluetooth
3.Go to Settings- Toggle Airport Mode on, Then Off, Retest Bluetooth
4.Go to Settings- General-Reset-Reset Network Settings, Retest Bluetooth
5. Now that we covered all the basic settings without touching data. If you still can not get Bluetooth to work try the last couple steps.
6. Find another Bluetooth headset see if the iPhone sees it.
7.Backup your Data, Restore iPhone, Test Bluetooth
If this all fails. Take your iPhone and Bluetooth headset to an Apple Retail store, Where they can attempt a couple more last min troubleshooting steps on iPhone.
If another Bluetooth works with your iPhone then you had a Bluetooth headset issue. But taking your Bluetooth headset into Apple Retail will allow them to test it on other iPhones to rule out an issue with your hardware.
Please book an appointment at your local store before going in.

  • 3GS doesn't fit into iPhone Bluetooth Headset cradle?

Just got my first iPhone, the 3GS. However, I already own the iPhone Bluetooth headset, which comes with a cradle that it supposed to accommodate the bluetooth and the iPhone. Since the new 3GS supposedly has the same dimensions as previous phones, it should fit, right?
I tried putting the 3GS into the cradle and the latter was a tiny bit too small. The phone almost fit in the port but didn't, and I didn't want to force it. Anyone know if it's supposed to fit?

It is not supposed to fit, and murray65 is correct - Apple never made a dual dock for the iPhone 3G, and in fact, early this year they discontinued the Apple Bluetooth Headset. You can either just use the travel cable to charge both devices, or you can use a Dremel (or carton knife, etc.) to widen the opening in the dock for the iPhone to accommodate the slightly larger and more rounded iPhone 3GS. See the last few posts in this thread for some links to pics of the process.

  • Is the iPhone bluetooth headset out?

hi guys, i cant find any info about the iphone bluetooth headset other than on the online store, is it out in stores? has anyone got one?

Our local Apple store has had it since the same
    day
    as the iPHone release.
I don't use bluetooth headsets so I can't give you
    a
review, but I am sure others will. Also, do a
    search
of this forum for Bluetooth Headset
This is likely a third party headset, not the
    official Apple Bluetooth headset.
Without a doubt...but I'd love to hear the location of the store where they've been released! ;D

  • IPhone Bluetooth Headset - after five months in the backyard

About five months ago I lost my iPhone Bluetooth headset. This headset is so small and slippery that I'd almost lost it several times. This time I searched everywhere, but no luck. Well, this week we were dog-sitting for friends, and this dog loves to fetch. I left her outside when I went to work, and when I came home I walked into the backyard and looked down at a small black object just beyond the patio. I recognized my headset right away -- she must have found it in the yard or garden. After I cleaned off the dirt, it looked like new. I let it air out overnight and then charged it up. Despite five months of sprinklers, rain, and dirt, it works like new.
I've dropped my iPhone enough to know how tough it is, but ounce for ounce, this headset is even tougher.

    Shelly,
The new bluetooth headset from Apple will not play music at all. Mono bluetooth headsets aren't designed for said purpose. The format for doing so is called A2DP and it is currently not available on the iPhone. But there is a good chance that this might be remedied in a future software update.
    Hope that helps!!!

  • IPhone bluetooth headset charging

I'm curious how the dual dock charges the iPhone bluetooth headset. It looks like the area where the microphone is on the headset is also the charging contacts. Is that so?

  • Iphone bluetooth headset stops bluetooth keyboard from connecting

has anyone else had a problem using an iphone bluetooth headset in close proximity to an bluetooth keyboard? If i wake up or boot up my macbook pro when my headset is switched on and close by, the keyboard will not connect to the mac! any ideas anyone please?

    Hi.
I have found that having my WiFi on at the same time I try to pair with my Plantronics 925 prevents me from hooking up. If you have WiFi you may want to turn it off why you pair. Once paired you can then turn your WiFi back on with no problems.

  • IPhone Bluetooth Headset - looking for ear plugs?

I just bought the iPhone Bluetooth Headset. I like it. I had the jawbone (which is also very nice), but I am pretty sure the Apple headset will suite my style much better.
One problem I have is getting it to stay in my ear (horizontal, i.e parallel to the ground) and not fall down. It seems to fit better in my left ear than in my right but still seems to wobble downward on occasion.
Is there some kind of rubber ear plug that can be added to the iphone that might make it fit my ear better? Thanks for any ideas.

The same thing was happening to me when I first got it.
As soon as I put the earbud pad covering on the earpiece that comes with the headset the headset fit perfectly and is very stable.
    For replacement earbud pads:

  • 2.2.1 Software Update broke connection with Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headset

Since performing 2.2.1 software update, my iPhone 3g does not recognize my Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headset when plugged into back of iPhone Bluetooth Travel Cable.
Is there some sort of reset operation I need to do?

    Hi Jonathan,
Try resetting the iPhone by holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see an Apple logo as described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305743
If that does not work, try the general troubleshooting tips here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305743

  • Iphone Bluetooth Headset

I just bought one maybe 2 weeks ago and the silly thing will not hold a charge, it says it's charged but when it is paired with my Iphone 3GS the battery icon shows less than a 1/4 charge on it........Whatsup with that? These things aren't cheap........

I haven't really seen any problem with mine. It works fine. I hate bluetooth headsets to begin with, and only use it when I am driving in an area that does not permit the use of a cellphone in the car that isn't through the headset.
It holds the charge for about a day or two if not used -- an hour or so if you do use it. It's longer than I would ever use it.
But if yours isn't holding a charge - it's defective and return it for exchange or a different headset.

  • Does anyone actually own or seen in reall life an iPhone Bluetooth Headset?

hi guys, anyone actually own the bluetooth headset or is it not out?

I am successfully using Motorola HS810 headsets. I have two of these, I keep one in each car and the Iphone recognizes each one individually. Synching was a cinch.
I wonder how the apple bluetooth will compare?

  • IPhone Bluetooth Headset will occasionally not connect?

Sometimes I turn the bluetooth headset on and it makes the four rising tones indicating it is turning on, but the phone does not recognize it and it does not connect. It takes MULTIPLE tries to get it to connect sometimes. Other times it works flawlessly. Anyone have any insight on this?

Once you power it on, you hear the 4 rising tones... once you've heard that then you need to click the button once more and you will hear a single beep.
This beep will make the Headset icon show up on your iPhone. If you don't click the button after it powers on, it doesn't always connect immediatly.

  • IPhone + Bluetooth Headset H710 = ????

Will my Motorola Bluetooth Headset H710 work with my iPhone? I just bought it online and I didn't even think if it would be compatible with my iPhone and I don't want to open the box if it's not going to work. I tried connecting a different Motorola Bluetooth headset to my iPhone and nothing came up when it was trying to pair it. HELP!!!

According to Motorola's website, apparently the H710 does support the iPhone.
    Take a look [here|http://www.motorola.com/consumer/v/index.jsp?ps=y&itemID=5041586a336a0110 VgnVCM1000008206b00a___&sectionName=SEC_TYP_00012&vgnextoid=38b5f7c0c1a0b010VgnVCM1000008206b00aRCRD &show=globalSupport&catID=7af81300ec3b0110VgnVCM1000008206b00a____&pg=PG_TYP00003&productID=69e5a8a6663c6110VgnVCM1000008206b00aRCRD].
You should be able to use that web page to select the Apple iPhone and it'll show you how to use the two together.

  • IPhone Bluetooth Headset - Interference

I have an Iphone headset paired to my iPhone, however when I accept a call, there is a lot of interference - much like a badly tuned radio to a station. How can this be fixed.

I have the same issue with an Apple Bluetooth headset. I am on my third one. They will work if the headset is less than 3 inches from the iPhone and as you increase the distance you go from static to no connection. The Genius people keep giving me a new headset????
