Iphone calendar items disappeared!

Last week, everything on my iphone 4s calendar disappeared - past events, future events, and events synced from my email calendar.  I was able to re-sync to my email, which got those things back, but everything I had directly entered into the phone's calendar (which was almost everything important) seems to be completely gone.  And no, I hadn't synced my calendar to icloud.
Anyone know of a way to get it back?  I've already missed an appointment that I had forgotten about.

I understand about the backing up, thanks. I had thought, every time I synced the apps on my phone, when it said it was backing up my iPhone, it really WAS backing up my iPhone. My question was about only restoring the calendar instead of the whole thing.
It is strange that you have to use iTunes (as I've now discovered) to sync the calendar with iCal.
Here's another strange thing: I have now synced it with iCal, and my appointments still have not shown up on the phone, but they DO now show up in iCal. I'm wondering, if I sync it again, will they show up on the phone? I suppose I could try it--couldn't hurt, could it?

  • Contacts and calendar items disappear when exchange server is off

    Hi All
I've been having this problem for a few weeks now and it's most frustrating. My iphone is setup to sync over the air to our corporate exchange server. It seems that when the server is down for repair/patching ALL my contacts and calendar items disappear from my iphone. This doesn't seem to happen if the phone is out of signal?
I know that I can sync directly with Outlook, however this would then mean that the phone is only updated when synced with my laptop at work. If I sync both over the air AND with Outlook, I get duplicates of everything in my calendar.
I'm not restoring my iphone to factory defaults to get rid of the duplicates and go back to over the air sync only.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get calendar and contacts to work "offline" when the exchange server is down?
Main PC is running Windows 7 and exchange is 2007. This problem is only recent, I think in the last month of two. Nothing has changed other than the last few firmware updates from Apple.

hi, cheers for the info. That would make sense, however how come when I'm out of signal and not connected to wifi, the data doesn't also disappear as that too would render the server "unavailable".
Is there a way to make the iphone keep a copy of the data much the same as "offline mode" in Outlook where you can still browse your email, calendar and contacts when the server is offline, and it picks up where it left off when the server is available again?
I appreciate this may not be a "problem" as such, but is frustrating as all my contacts and calendar live in Outlook and I can't function without them

  • Text in body of Calendar items disappears

Users have complained of this and now it has happened to me:
Appointment in Calendar contains text, after 'something happens', the Appointment is opened and the body is now blank
However, if I search for the item, the text is partially visible in the Results Pane
I have disabled add-ins and started Outlook in safe mode but the text is still missing
    Outlook 2010 Exchange 2013
Has anyone any ideas what could be causing this?
    shapi

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, text in the body of Calendar items disappears, Please follow theses steps: -
Message body disappearing in Outlook is a known issue of two commonly used antivirus software: AVG and NOD32. It happens like this: -
A message arrives in the Exchange mailbox and synchronizes with Outlook.
The AVG or NOD32 add-in, which is added to Outlook automatically if you have the software installed, deletes the message body.
The message is then synchronized with the server, so it is also synchronized with OWA and with wireless devices.
To prevent this from happening you need to remove the AVG or NOD32 add-in in Outlook.
Also, there are other Outlook issues which could be caused by antivirus add-ins. For example, when sending messages they can come back undeliverable with no header.
    To remove an add-in:
    Outlook 2010: File > Options > Add-ins
    In the
Manage field, choose COM add-ins and then click on
    Go.
    Highlight an add-in and click
    Remove.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Calendar Items Show on iPhone Calendar Then Disappear - Reappear

We have deployed about 25 iPhones in our enterprise. All are running v2.1 and are 3G. One user (on same Exchange server as the rest) cannot see his appointments on his calendar. Upon further review, they are there! BUT, if you look at the month, week or day view they show, then 3-4 seconds later disappear. Then 3-4 seconds later re-appear!! In a loop over and over. We have gone through 3 different iPhones now it happens the same each time.

    Hello everyone,
I seem to found a solution! I was having this same issue yesterday... events appearing, then vanishing just as quickly. I suspected it is a sync issue with an event on the exchange server. This is what work for me:
    - Exported my calendar from Entourage/Outlook (or make sure you have a recent backup).
    - Deleted all events (so there is now no events on the exchange server).
    - Double check there are no stray events remaining on the server.
    - Open calender on iPhone so it looks to the server.
(All events should now be purged)
    - Now import your backup/exported calendar back into Entourage/Outlook
    - Make sure all events now appear on the server again.
    - In iPhone calendar settings turn Exchange off then on again. (I also restarted iPhone, home button and power button.)
    - Finally open iPhone calendar so fetches Exchange events (this will take a while as it's starting afresh).
Everything is behaving itself now. As I said above I suspect it was getting confused with an old or stray event on the Exchange server that wasn't visible in my Entourage.
Good luck! Do let me know if it works for you all. Dan.

  • Set up iCloud with iPhone and iMac, and all my calendar items disappeared from my iPhone.  Help?

I had a full calendar on my iPhone4 before I activated iCloud on my iMac and iPhone.  All that's left on the iPhone calendar are a few birthdays.  Can someone please tell me how to sync my iMac with my iPhone via iCloud (boy, that's a lot of "i's")??

If you are going to use iCloud then stop using iTunes. Set up 2 user accounts on your PC, one for you and one for her, in each account enter the correct iCloud credentials (ie: yours for you and hers for her), do not sync the items that are on iCloud with iTunes, it will make a mess.

  • IPhone calendar entries disappeared from the iPhone when I moved to iCloud on my iMac...

I migrated from MobileMe to iCloud on my iMac, which runs Lion.  I have an iPhone 3G (not 3GS), so I can't upgrade to iOS5.  I know that my iPhone Calendar won't sync with iCloud; however, all the calendar entries iPhone calendar entries have disappeared.  I thought that all entries made up to the time of moving to iCloud are supposed to remain on the iPhone calendar, and subsequent to moving to iCloud, I'd have to make calendar entries in iPhone manually (with not sync with iCloud possible).
What happend to all my calendar en

Thanks Winston, after I posted the question I went into iTunes to sync and update the iPad and it came to me that I should be able to change the credit card info here.. and I could.  I realize I cannot use the iCloud on my iMac, but right now I cannot purchase and new computer and the current one is too old to handle the memory requirements of Lion.  Again, thanks for your help.

  • IPhone calendar items not syncing with Mac calendar

A few weeks ago I noticed that items added to my iPhone calendar stopped syncing with my Mac calendar.  Items added or deleted from my Mac calendar, however, do sync properly to my iPhone.
iPhone 4S iOS 7.0.6.  Mac OS 10.8.5 (whatever beast that is).  I sync via iTunes and USB cable.  I do not use iCloud and am not interested in doing so.
I looked through other discussion threads, and  they did not seem to address my problem.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

The answer given by randers4 here solved my problem (turn out I have Mountain Lion):

  • After installing Mountain Lion on my iMac, calendar items disappeared.

My iPhone, iPad and MBP still have the calendar contents. The one item that still appears on the calendar is a holiday schedule I downloaded from another site a few years ago. I checked the preferences on the iMac and "Calendar" is checked for iCloud. Thanks for any help/suggestions!

Strange as it seems and without having resolved my problem, I decided to enter an appointment fo tomorrow. When I double-clicked tomorrow's date on the calendar to enter the information, like magic, the other appointments appeared.
Therefore, double-clicking a date on the calendar was the answer or it was a magnificent coincidence of timing!

  • Calendar items disappear after upgrade to 10.5.2.

through software actualisation I have downloaded the lastet update of mac os X (10.5.2). After restarting my mac book all calender items from january 2008 backward and march forward are no longer shown. I can not find out , what to do .
    Has anybody an idea?

    reply to self:
    1. reinstalled the 10.5.2 combo update as suggested elsewhere here.
    2. Made a new calendar, new event, quit ical, restarted ical, the event was still here. surprise.
    3. double-clicked the whole .icbu backup that I had made when ical appeared already broken (i.e. no events whatsoever had shown in any of the calendars in any of the weekly or other views, but search still found some files, and the backup had 15 MB so it wasnt nothing). Import took not even five minutes, and ical is now back.
    so what helped was to
    1. make that backup of ical even if it appears not to work,
    2. delete all calendars (from within ical, not manually),
    3. delete all recommended .plist and cache files as recommended in these "help, empty calendar" threads and restart ical to create new ones,
    4. reinstall 10.5.2 combo update,
    5. double-click the .icbu file.
I dont know what from this list can be omitted.
    good luck.

  • Calendar Items Created on the iPhone do not Correctly Sync to Outlook 2003

I have a first generation iPhone that I upgraded the firmware to version 2.0. This problem didn't exist until after I upgraded.
I only sync my iPhone with one Outlook 2003 calendar. Soon after the upgraded, I noticed there were 3 calendars showing on my phone:
    - Calendar
    - Home
    - _ModCal24c5.Home
Since Calendar seems to be my main calendar and the other two were empty, I deleted Home and _ModCal24c5.Home. Now, when I create a calendar item on my iPhone and sync, it appears not to have transferred to my PC.
If I search for the iPhone calendar item in Outlook, it shows up in the active appointments list and I can copy it over to the Calendar folder. But then later, I notice that other meetings I set up in Outlook have disappeared. Erased both on the iPhone and in Outlook even though they were there and I never deleted the meeting in either the phone or the application.
Pretty much, the Outlook Calendar iPhone synch is screwy. I'm afraid to investigate my Contacts list since some entries may have disappeared, too.

I have been unable to sync Outlook 2002 and iPhone 2G since I upgraded to 7.7 and 2.0. Don't want to have to upgrade outlook but will do so if I know it will work. Anybody not having the problem???
I have spent hours trying to resolve. Please help

  • How do i text an calendar item

How do I text a  iphone calendar item to someone else?

    Hi,
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab.
Click the Edit button next to *Other forms*
Delete the url's for the site(s) you have problems with.
Quit Safari (Command + Q) then relaunch Safari for changes to take effect.
If you are running v10.6.2 as your profile indicates, there are updates available.

  • Why do new event items disappear from calendar after a few seconds

Suddenly, new event items disappear from calendar a few seconds (7-30) after creation. This has never been a problem before, and I have used iCal for years. All my old events remain but as of today, when I try to add an event, it stays on the screen for a few seconds, then disappears. I tried entering the events on my iPhone and then syncing, but they went away on my phone as well. Does anyone have an idea of what's happening? Is my iCal out of memory?

I had success with this method:
    1) make a backup of iCal's database (-> file menu)
    2) revert to that same backup ( " " )

  • Deleted calendar items still appearing on iPhone

Calendar items deleted on the PC (Outlook 2003 or Entourage 2008 - 12.1.7, - both linked to Exchange Server 2007) remain in the iPhone (OS 2.2.1) calendar. I am using wireless Exchange ActiveSync.
It was working fine, but has now stopped removing deleted items.
Calendar items added on the iPhone show up in Outlook/Entourage, so no problem in this area.
I have tried turning 'off' the Calendar on the iPhone, then turning in 'on', allowing it to re-sync, but this has not solved the problem. My MobileMe accounts are all fine.
I had Xerox DocuShare client add-on installed on Outlook 2003, but this was installed well before the problem appeared. It have uninstalled it, just to be sure, but the issue was not resolved.
I am mystified as to why this issue should appear. Any ideas? Thanks in anticipation.

    Thanks for the suggestion Allan.
I deleted the Exchange account and recreated it. Unfortunately the deleted items still appear.
I thought it may be linked to the deletion of single occasions of repeating events, but the failure of single events to delete from the iPhone is also apparent. I appreciate the help.

  • Calendar items not showing ONLY in list view on iPhone

Weird: My Calendar items are not showing in the list view only, on iPhone.
They show when I search, they show in month, they show in Day views--just NOT in list view.
    Ideas?

I just had the same problem (calendar information--for eight different calendars--OK on laptop and on Mobile me; on the iPhone only 3 of my calendars were displaying in "List" view, but all eight were appearing in "Day" view); first time I've encountered this problem (and immediately after installing the 11-February-2010 iPhone software update, so I'm suspicious that this might have been the cause).
Solution described in posting immediately above seems to have worked. I.e.,:
    1. shut OFF MobileMe syncing for calendars on the iPhone (from Settings menu);
    2. wait for calendar entries to be removed;
    3. shut off iPhone, and wait 2 minutes;
    4. restart iPhone;
    5. turn ON MobileMe syncing for calendars on the iPhone (again, from Settings menu).
All eight calendars now appear in List view (and still appear in Day view).
