Iphone camera not recognized in Windows 7

Hello Fellow iPhone users
I am having a problem with the iPhone camera on the iPhone 3g 3.0. I cannot get it to allow me to open up the camera to get the pictures off of it. When I go to Devices and Printers it shows the Apple Mobile Device USB driver and that is installed fine and it works in ITunes, however, it also shows the iPhone but with the yellow triangle and exclamation point. It says that the driver is not installed properly. The status is needs troubleshooting. When I go to properties, it says "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)". I have tried reinstalling iTunes, unplugging, replugging the iPhone. I have tried a different iPhone (a 3GS with version 3.1.2) with the same results(they both work fine in XP).
I have been trying to get this working for a few hours and have no idea what is wrong. Are there any other drivers I can get? How about reinstalling the usb drivers? This is on an Acer netbook, and it was working with Windows 7 starter, but when I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, it stopped working. I assume it is a driver issue, but I don't know what other drivers I can use or which ones to change out. Other USB cameras are working fine.
Please let me know if you need any other information.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Windows sometimes won't detect the phone and allow camera/scanner access if there are pics on the iphone not taken by the iphone camera. Email any non camera taken pics to yourself, download them on your computer, then delete the pics from the iphone. When you reconnect your computer it should start the camera/scanner download as usuall.

  • Iphone 6 not recognized in windows

iphone 6 not recognized in windows but it's recognized in Itunes. I uninstalled and reinstall Itunes but it's still not working. I have photos in my iphone. Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is updated. Under Device Manager and Portable Devices, I can't find Apple iPhone. Please advise.

then uninstall bonjour and maybe use regedit to search and delete all registry keys
and you can always connect it to another computer with a non messed up apple software and copy out the photos without having to pair or sync or anything with the computer

  • Itunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Iphone 4S not recognized in Windows and Itunes

I recently installed itunes 11.1.4 on my Windows 7 (64) laptop computer and my iphone 4S was no longer recognized in Windows or itunes. Previous versions of itunes had worked with no problems with this combination. I completely uninstalled itunes, apple software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour and apple application support and restarted the computer. When I attached the iphone, it was recognized by Windows. I reinstalled itunes only to find the iphone was no longer recognized in Windows or itunes again. When viewing the device in Device Manager, I discovered the yellow exclamation mark and proceeded to attempt to update the driver. Windows reported that it "cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device." Repeated the uninstall and reinstall process with a new download of the itunes installer which produced the same result. Need help resolving this problem because I need to sync data on phone with data on computer.

    Hello JHHamlin,
Go through the section 5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed from the link below
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
Go through the above link in the sections which I am mentioning below and see if it fixes your issue.
    > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8
    * Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Driver
    * In the Device Manager window, right-click Universal Serial Bus controllers and choose Scan for hardware changes from the shortcut menu.
    * Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver> Browse my computer for driver software> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer> Click the Have Disk button.
    * Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
    * Double-click the "usbaapl" file
    * Click Open in the Have Disk window. Then, click Next and then Click Finish. Windows will install the driver.

  • Iphone 3G not recognized in Windows XP or seen in iTunes

I recently updated my itunes to iTunes 10. When I plug in my iphone 3g to the usb port, all that happens is that Windows recognizes and installs a camera device. The iphone is not being seen. iTunes also does not recognize the iphone under devises. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes per the recommendations on the apple support website. To no avail. In the devices section in Windows, the iphone is not showing up. I have tried several usb ports on the computer and none of them show the iphone. When I took the phone to work and plugged it into the computer at work, Windows XP immediately recognized it and so did iTunes. At work, the iTunes is iTunes 9.
I'm not sure what do to. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

If I had to take a wild guess it would be that you have a problem with the USB bus on your computer. Since you tried connecting the phone to another computer and it worked that would rule out the problem being on your computer. The only other idea I have is that if you didn't use the same dock cable on both computers that it could be the cable, but I would assume that you used the same cable both times. I would recommend checking to see if any other USB peripherals have problems connecting to your computer as well.

  • IPhone 6 not recognized by Windows 7 PC

When I connect my iPhone 6 to my Windows 7 PC a pop-up shows the drivers loading, tells me the device is ready to use, then iTunes opens. All good right? Yes, except when I go to my Computer to open anything it doesn't even show the phone. What is going on here? It's Windows 7 Professional (64bit) if that makes any difference. I'd like to get photos off of my phone to my computer but I cannot get them to work together.
    Thanks.

  • IPhone 4s not recognized by windows 8 after updating iOS and stuck on "connect to itunes" screen

I tried updating the iOS on my iPhone4s and now it is stuck on the connect to itunes screen. It also doesn't show up in the devices folder of my computer (windows8.1) but makes the notification sound when connected to a usb port. It also isn't recognized by itunes, but that's probably because the computer doesn't connect to it either.
I've tried reinstalling iTunes multiple times, updating the driver for the usb port, and pressing the sleep/home buttons as i connect it but nothing has worked and I'm still stuck on the connect to itunes screen.
Also, every now and then, the iphone screen blacks out and the disconnected from computer sound plays, then a second later connects again

  • IPhone 4 not recognized by Windows

So my computer just won't recognize my iPhone 4. When i plug it in, Windows sees it as an "Unknown Device".
My brother's iPhone 4 flawlessly connects to the same computer.
I found out that my iPhone only connects to one specific usb-port of a relatively old laptop (but when it's in DFU-mode, it stops being recognized, though).
I guess the only thing left is replacing the dock-connector, right? But would that really fix the problem?
    Thank you

    Hi Simon
    I have the same problem.
Once I connected my iphone to the computer and my iphone turned off being very hot.
I plugged it in and it turned itself on after hour or something and started charging.
I was happy to see it wasn't dead, however I am unhappy as it is not being recognized in any computer I plug it in to (I tried both Mac and PC).
I sent it to service but they returned it with verdict that a liquid has entered my phone because of the activated liquid indicator (however I know, that there never was any liquid in there - it never fell into water).
So now I am a bit lost. When I connect it to PC it is charging but not recognized.
I am willing to take it to a different service as my warranty has been cancelled.
Can you please let me know whether you had any luck with replacing the dock connector?
I am afraid the issue may be in the logic board or the dock connector (hoping it's the latter as the logic board is too expenisve and not worth it to replace).
    Thanks.

  • Iphone 5c not recognized by Windows iTunes; cannot sync

    Hi,
I realize many users are having problems with this same issue on various iOS devices.  I'll note that not only are all of my drivers/systems/software versions up to date, but I've also followed all troubleshootings steps that are commonly given, such as but not limited to:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5254?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Additionally I've checked to ensure my AMDS is running with up-to-date drivers, checked for software conflicts, etc.  Regardless of what I've tried the issue remains: iTunes will not detect my device because the device has "timed out."  Ran a diagnostic from iTunes and it merely said it couldn't detect a device.  Also interesting to note is that Windows itself does not seem to detect my phone when connected - but it detects anything else I plug into the USB port.  I cannot sync wirelessly yet as I've never managed to establish a wired sync.
Could someone please address this issue beyond the standard re-posting of the sync troubleshooting steps?  Obviously these steps are not helping many users, including myself, and I think there must be a larger issue that Apple isn't addressing yet.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Iphone 4 not recognized in Windows and won't charge

My iPhone 4 suddenly stopped charging via ANY charge medium, connected directly to USB port with adapter, via an iHome-like stereo, nor will it work in a wall charger. Also, neither a Mac (10.7) nor will a Win 7 computer with updated iTunes recognize it. Every time I connect it I get a message "USB device not recognized and has malfunctioned..." I have already changed the battery out (it was already out of warranty) still not charging or being recognized. Any help resolving this would be far more than appreciated!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!

Clean the iPhone charging port with a clean dry toothbrush. See it this helps. If still problem, clean port with toothbrush and some Isopropyll Alcohol. Clean especially the pins which are on top of the port mid-rib.

  • IPhone 5 not recognized by Windows 7

My iPhone 5 is not showing up in iTunes or in Windows.  I've looked in the Windows Device Manager and in Printers & Devices.  I have an iPhone 4 which is being recognized, but not the 5.
I've tried uninstalling Apple Mobile Device Support and iTunes, then downloading and installing iTunes.
I've tried all 4 of my laptop's USB ports.
Anyone out there know the trick?
    Thanks.

Sorry, that wasn't clear.  In another topic, I read that sometimes it will actually say "Apple iPhone" in Device Manager, even if it's in the "Unspecified" group.

  • IPhone 5 not recognized in Windows Explorer, Advanced

    Hi all,
My goal is to rescue the pictures that my phone is holding hostage.  iTunes recognizes the phone and syncs correctly, I can see the device in Media Monkey and write to the device properly with that app.  However, I cannot see the device in Windows Explorer on my Windows7 box.  I do see the Apple device service running and have restarted and I do see the USB device driver is installed and operating properly.  I have reinstalled iTunes.  I do know there "were" photos on the iPhone.....  The digitizer is not working and the screen does not work due to a drop in the pool so I can't verify or do anything on the phone.  The phone receives calls, texts and the alarms, calendar reminders all work and the music is in memory so I see no reason that the photos would not still be on the phone but I cant get windows to see it.....
    Any ideas??
    Thanks

No, that should not happen. If all you did was a backup, or even a sync, the photos are not indexed as being imported. Many times I will decide not to import pictures on the phone if there are only a couple and I want them for some other reason. I will just close out the import utility and then sync the phone. I sync my phone daily, and if those pictures are still on the phone, then it will still start the import utility again the next time I connect the phone.
However, as a after thought, why not just try a screen shot, the content doesn't matter, then connect the phone and see if that will get it recognized.
