IPhone compatibility

Will Apple ever give up trying to push quicktime and finally accept flash on the iPhone? I'm a Utah auto insurance agent and use my phone all day long and I hate when I can't access content because it is in flash.

You should probably ask Apple about that.  They appear to be main reason for the issue existing.  You could always see if Droid provides you better facilitation, though I have nothing to offer on its behalf.  I have a cell phone... somewhere... for emergencies.
I wonder if Apple informs potential customers up front that they won't be able to acess Flash content/games if they buy one of their iPhone/Pads?

  • Envy w/ iphone compatibility

Anyone able to help?  I spent over 2 hours on the phone today with tech support and finally got to an American call center to only get hung up on by Jermaine saying that it was an issue with my computer.  I dropped every firewall I had and still couldn't get the print center to share files with my computer.  I can print without an issue, but I'd like to have full compatibility and have access to shared files from a remote location for printing availability.  On my 64 bit Win 7 it will not link to any of the IP address the iphone 'app' provides.  Let me know if it's user error.  I can be reached at [email protected], Thanks.
    Matthew
P.S. HP support; I added my address so that you'd see it, see my issue and hopefully help me resolve it.  Regardless the VP of customer support will be receiving a personal letter about my dissatisfaction with the lack of help or respect I got from your agents today.  Thanks.

    Hi,
Let me understand your question: do you want to access to your computer remotely ? If yes this software may help:

  • Iphone compatibility with mac OS

Hi I want to get an iphone but found out my imac with Tiger will not support iphone 4. Is it true that the iphone is useless without
an updated OS? Can't afford to replace both the phone and computer at once.
When I do get new computer was thinking about getting my first notebk. Any suggestion? Though am concerned about the screen size. Am use to my 17 in  Imac. Want the mobility of the notebk  What about the ipad? I use computer for email/ facebk. photos /movies web searching calender , Word and some Excel. I have a Apple TV; and an external hard drive (waiting to be hooked up as it will not work with Tiger either.) I have Verizon for my cell carrier and Verizon Fios on  computer and TV.

    Hello Anne ONeil,
the iPhone would not be useless but you will not be able to use
it to it's full potential. iDevices are made not as stand alone
products but as products to Sync with your computer so
that you can manage the content of your iDevices.
In order Sync an iDevice you need iTunes v10.x which
requires a minimum of Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard.
Is your 17" iMac a PowerPC G5 or an intel CoreDuo or
Core2Duo. If it's the G5 the max Mac OS is Leopard. If intel
you might be able to upgrade to Snow Leopard so that you
can download iTunes 10 and Sync your iPhone.
New portable? MBP 13". Check with Apple Customer Support
to see if you can use your Apple TV as an external monitor.
iPad2 is an iDevice and to get the most you need to Sync
with iTunes. At this time MicroSOFT does not have an iPad
Mac Office App for the iPad.
External HD-not sure. As gdgmacguy stated check the hardware
and software requirements before you purchase.
That Verizon fios looked pretty good. I'm ATT.
    Apple Support:
    1-800-275-2273
Automated call but you can with enough patience speak to a software
specialist. Be patient and polite. Have your iMac serial number ready
    for them (About this Mac)
    Happy Computing,

  • Car Receivers that play DVDs and iphone compatable which one?

Hi I am looking to get a car receiver installed with dvd and iphone playing enabled to the max but would also like GPS even if I could get the tom tom app and google maps playing on this receiver is fine.
But what sort of DVD car receiver do people really reccomend for iphone I think I have an iphone 3gs or one of the earlier ones that I hope will last until the iphone 6 comes out, in the meantime I will need a receiver that also charges this old dying iphone.
The receivers I have looked at and sort of like are: Eclipse AVN827GA for around $2499 at the darer scale. And double din A/V receiver Sony XAV-63 around $399 but I don't think this cheaper one has gps can my iphone gps be displayed on this model. Or the pioneer AVH-2450BT with a smaller screen and priced around $899 I also don't think this has GPS and again can my iphone's tom tom and google maps and TVNZ ondemand (now on my iphone in New Zealand) and you tube be played on these cheaper receivers.
But people out there might know of better receivers for iphone in general.
    Thanks
    Shona

if it have hdmi in then one can use the hdmi adator for iphones

  • IPhone compatibility between Asia and Europe

I wish to know if an iPhone4 bought in Asia is fully compatible for use (and covered by guarantee and support) in Europe, accessories included. Thank you.

The iPhone warranty is country specific unless the device is purchased in one of the EU countries.
Any iPhone purchased in the EU can obtain warranty service in any other EU country per this support article from Apple.
There currently are no other exceptions to the iPhone warranty.

  • Iphone compatibility with Canon Selphy?

I have a Canon Selphy model CP270. Ive been attempting to print some photos that I've taken with my iPhone through the Selphy; so far I've tried to copy the iPhone photos from my Windows 8 laptop to an SDHC card. This works perfectly fine when viewing the photos on my laptop but when I insert the SD card into my Selphy (or Canon Ixus 105 camera) only the photos that I've taken with the camera show up, not the ones I've taken on my iPhone.
Could anyone suggest a way to solve this issue so I can print my iPhone photos through my Selphy?
Could it be to do with the iPhone's EXIF?
    Thanks in advance ~ Oli.

This sounds like a question about  general Photoshop CS5 use. This forum is specifically for people using the Photoshop CS5 FXG feature with Flash Catalyst.
I recommend you post this question to one of  the more general Photoshop forums:

Your question will get much wider exposure there, and you are more likely to get an answer from the Photoshop community.

  • Wireless-G Camera & iPhone compatibility

I am thinking of purchasing the wireless-G internet home monitoring camera and would like to know if I would be able to view images or video over my iPhone?

  • ICloud, ipad, iphone compatibility problems

I have two iPhone 4S's and an ipad and an ipad mini.  I want the info on one phone to be the same as the mini and then the info on the other ipad to be be a mirror of the other iphone.  If I turn on iCloud all devices have the same info.  What do I need to do to have one phone and one pad the same and the other pad and other phone be the same?

Use one iCloud account for the two of the devices you want to have the same data on, and a second account for the other two.

  • IPhone compatability

I just got an iPhone and synced it with my iMac and wanted to download a couple photos from iPhoto but I got a message saying you need version 4.0.3. Any way to get that version without having to buy iLife 06 which I don't want?

Place copies of both photos in a specific folder, and then use the instructions in this article to set that folder to be synced with the iPhone. A copy of a photo can be made by dragging it to the desktop.

  • IHome and iphone compatability issue

We just received a nice ihome iH14, which I guess was produced back when the iPhone was not around yet since it doesn't mention anywhere whether it is compatible with the iPhone or not. So I just unboxed it and plugged in my iphone to the dock. A window pops up and it says "This device is not compatible with iphone, would you like to turn on airplane mode to reduce interference?"
Now it is odd that it says this because A) it appears to be charging properly and B) it plays the music out of the speaker and sounds fine.
Now the reason I am on here with this issue is to make sure that this is healthy for my iPhone. Is there anything wrong at all with using this ihome device, or can I just continue using it?
Also, it doesn't really fit well in the dock so it seems like it is just hanging on by the plug, which kind of scares me...are there any adapters made for the iphone also so that it is more snug?
    Thanks!

This happens to me also, so far I have not seen any issues. So just say no, unless you don't want to take any calls etc. And enjoy

  • How many of you would purchase the new B.T. Keyboard if was iPhone compat?

Also, is the USB keyboard compatible? Let Apple know how many of you are interested here, someone will post the appropriate link I assume also.

I would not buy it. I want portability and if I have to carry
around a keyboard I might as well just bring my laptop.

  • Iphone video file compatibility checker?

I have a bunch of video files in mp4 and m4v in a folder. Some copy to my iphone when added to my itunes library, others don't with the error FILE CAN NOT BE PLAYED ON THIS IPHONE. Usually the format for non compatible iphone video files was created for appletv device , but its hard to tell which files will play on the iphone, quick and easily. I was wondering if there was a simple iphone video compatibility checker. Like looking at video files listed in a folder directory, where it displays whether or not a video file is iphone compatible?
If no such file checker exists, it sure would be nice to have such a file checker to look at a batch or folder of files at one time, and easily check iphone compatibility. (hint hint programmers)

It appears to me that the only reason cpu speed, would impact play back is that iTunes has designed this effect into the files.
No, they didn't, at least not as part of some sort of deliberate effort to get you to upgrade. Videos and movies from the iTunes Store are encoded with the new H.264 codec. This codec can yield much better quality at a lower file size than can other video codecs such as the most common MPEG-2, but decoding H.264 takes more processing power. Hence the minimum CPU requirement; it just takes that fast a system to decode the content smoothly. In some cases with a system with close specs, you may be able to get adequate playback if all other applications and processes are shut down (as with iTunes vs. QuickTime; iTunes takes up a bit more of the processor for it's other functions), but it's always going to be iffy if you're right at the edge of the system requirements.
You're going to see this sort of thing on any computer system; better quality video requires higher-power systems, no matter what platform you're running on (Windows Media Player recommends 1.5Ghz).

  • My iPhone 4S is not charging when plugged into clock radio. What's wrong?

So about a week ago, I docked my iPhone 4S into my Sony ICF-C7iP clock radio as I do every evening before going to bed. I bought this clock radio back in August and have had no problems with it at all. However this time, I noticed my phone was not charging. It didn't make the charging beep nor did it show on the display that it was charging. I tried removing it & re-seating it...nothing. I tried rebooting my phone which resulted in the same problem. When I plug my iPhone into either a standard sync cable or an iPhone dock, it charges/syncs as normal.
Suspecting the problem was with the alarm clock, I contacted Sony support. The clueless support rep on the other line suggested I return the clock in exchange for a refurbished one. For a $60 clock, this was more trouble than it was worth, so I decided against it.
I then decided to purchase an iHome iA9 which was sure to work. I just unpacked it and set it up. When I docked the iPhone on it...you guessed it...nothing. It is still not charging. The funny thing is that the iPhone will play music through the iHome with no problems. I had also tried plugging the iHome into a different outlet with no luck either. I am out of ideas. I am left to assume that for some reason, my phone does no longer like charging when docked on to an alarm clock.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how I can get this to work again? I recently upgraded to iOS 5.1 and honestly don't know if that would have anything to do with it. But the likelihood of 2 completely different clock radios exhibiting the same problem is virtually non-existent.
As mentioned, I tried rebooting the phone with no luck. Docking the phone to a standard charging cable plugged into the wall charges the phone fine. Docking the phone on an iPhone compatable dock charges the phone fine. Is the problem with my phone?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Tim, I was speaking generally. Obviously the iOS upgrade didn't remove the ability to charge on ALL 3rd party devices, else my iH9 wouldn't charge it either.
What I just can't understand is how an old iHome model works just fine with a new iPhone, yet a new iHome model will not. If anything, I would think it would be the other way around.
Anyway, I emailed iHome explaining my situation and I asked if they had planned on releasing a firmware update to fix the problem. I got the typical generic response about unplugging the iHome & removing the batteries for an hour then trying again. And if that doesn't work, send it in for repair in which I would need to pay for the shipping.
If I decide to go that route, I think it's just going to be a waste of time as I would get the iHome back "repaired" and it would have the exact same problem. But I guess I'll never know until I try.
I remember reading on these forums about several others having the same problem. So what are the odds that the iHomes these other people got who are experiencing the same problem are problematic as well? Unless the "repair" iHome is referring to is a firmware update, I don't really buy into this.

  • Message in the Iphone

There is a message appearing in my iphone. It says; Quote" The accessary is not optimized for this iphone. You may experience noise caused by cellular interference and decrease in cellular signal strength. Unquote What's this n how to rectify or get rid of it... Pressed dismissed but it keep appearing.

Are you using accessory like a dock for example where you put your phone in? If yes, and this part is not made to function with your phone, you'll get this message.
See more info here: iPhone: Compatibility message appears when connected to a "Works with iPhone" accessory
If you get this message and there's nothing connected to your phone, reset it by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again. Also make sure that your docking connector is free of any debris or lint.

  • IPhone G3 S with built in BlueTooth car Kit problem

    I have an iPhone 3Gs.
When I connect to my car kit (Motorola T605) the kit always falls back into music mode.Tthe phone works in this mode but when I use either the iPod feature or a GPS navigation app I get no sound through the car.
It worked perfectly with my older iPhone with 2.2.1.
Any ideas as to what is wrong or what I can do to rectify the problem ?
Do any of you have car kits that work fully with the iPhone 3G s that you can recommend .. It looks like I might have to change my car kit.
I have updated my 2.2.1 3G phone .... The same problems exist. It seems to be a version 3.0 software issue to me.

    Hi Tim,
I have just spent 2 hours on the phone with Motorola's tech support (They were useless at best !!!). I got nowhere at all. They blame all the problems all on Apple and say their kit is NOT guaranteed to work with all phones with A2DP. I wish they said that in their sales literature and i told them that .. they seemed to be unable to accept the idea that their saying it works in writing is somewhat misleading (Wrong in this case) and perhaps even a breach of sales law.
I then spent over an hour at my local (and very experienced) car audio store. they were more than helpful but they also could not get things working correctly.
I do have a Sony car stereo system and this has a lead for an iPod to play through the stereo system.
I connected my iPhone to this ... it worked .. sort of ! .. I had to play around a bit .. I managed to get Audio to work and my navigation App (Navigon Europe) worked this way also.
The store then played around with a Parrot MKi9100 car kit that they had on a demonstration stand.. This was significantly better and I am having my motorola T605 removed and disposed of in disgust tomorrow and the Parrot installed.
The Parrot will also charge the iPhone via it's cable unlike the Motorola and Sony setup.
I did speak to Parrot themselves and they have said to me that any of their models in the MKi range will be fine with the iPhone with version 3.0 software as they have done software updates .. The updates can be applied by the owners simply and quickly.
Just for information for you and others with similar problems ... We also tried several car stereo systems that say they have bluetooth and iPhone compatibility built in to them .. Alpine in particular ... Not one worked !!!
The Parrot is being fitted as I said earlier tomorrow ... I will make a further report when it's all done to let you know just how good it is and how everything works.
    I hope this helps.
