IPhone Edge Up Mistake

I'm really unhappy with Verizon Wireless Customer Service. They constantly make big mistakes on my acct and they never fix the problem or try to compensate for the problems. Yesterday I called to Edge Up my boyfriends phone. She put in all the info and at the end of the order she needed the payment of the Edge balance. I give her my credit card and instead of putting to the Edge order so it can ship out yesterday she makes a mistake and applied it to my account and now the order is delayed 5 business days waiting for Financial Services to reverse the payment.  It was a medical emergency that he gets the phone by Tuesday and now it's not going to happen and all Verizon Wireless says is there is nothing we can do for you. They should take responsibility for their representatives errors.

That's sucks and is unfortunate giving your situation.  Every time I read post of such it reminds me that it'll probably be better to EDGE up in a store rather than doing it online or via the telephone...

    However, because I modified the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast and nothing changed, I redirected it to another feed and then I deleted this feed.
    Is there any way to change the feed in itunes? The only feed I have now is  http://feeds.feedburner.com/CasaEgyptStation
    I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
    I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.

    If it has been Disabled after entering the wrong passcode - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212.
    Unfortunately, you must restore it in iTunes on your computer.   There is no way to retrieve a forgotten pass lock code.
    You will need to Restore your device from the same computer that you most recently synced to. See - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414.

    If you had a backup before restoring, then yes, if not, then no. Restore from your most recent backup.

  • IPhone/Edge security and available space question

    2 questions here:
    1) Is it 'safe' to access sites like online banking or enter credit card information using the iphone/edge, or is it not really secure? As a side-question, is it more or less secure to do the same using iphone/wifi?
    2) I have about 45MB free on my iphone (according to itunes). Does this number include ALL space on the iphone (meaning if I fill that up, it won't have any room to cache data/download email, etc..) or does it have a portion of the drive partitioned off for its own uses? Should I be worrying about keeping some free space or will it do it on its own?

    1. Safe is a relative term. If someone is snooping they may intercept your transmission. Same thing with WiFi. When you connect to banking sites, you are establishing secure connections, and some have better security than others. But even with a hard connection, someone can have a sniffer hooked up to a port somewhere down the line and intercept your transmission. Bottom line - I connect to these sites and dont worry about it too much.
    2. 45MB??? Where did all your space go??? There is a space allotted for the system, but as an old-schooler I have never "used up" all my storage - it tends to cause problems. I am pretty sure the system will alert you if you fill up beyond capacity or if you will hinder its operation. It a pretty smart phone. I would not fill it to capacity though. Its just an old habit I have.

    In iTunes click on edit then preferences then on the devices tab and the backups are there.  Select the one you want to delete then delete it

  • Mac Mail, iPhone, Edge versus WiFi (Corporate Settings)

    I have Mac mail set up fine on the iPhone it works O.K. on Edge at the usual AT&T speed, but I am seeing issues when trying to access the web and Mac Mail through my work's WiFi network.
    They offer a "public access" (this is a hospital), that when you access WiFi with the web-browser it passes you by a couple of agreement pages (it's a securlogin.arubanetwork.com address). It warns that the speed is throttled down to 0.5 Mb/second, the session expires after 8 hours and access is restricted to HTTP and HTTPS protocols but you can use VPN to tunnel to your home network.
    If I acess through WiFi (it asks for an e-mail address) using the web-browser, then web access to Mac Mail and to web-pages are ok, the WiFi triangle is 3-4 bars and the speed is "good". However if I do this work WiFi web-access through the browser and then turn-around and access the Mail app on the iPhone and Mac Mail off that, then the WiFi "triangle" drops right down to the bottom line and "Checking for Mail" goes on-and-on (both at the top of the screen and the footer of the screen) ultimately nothing appears to update. I've checked against Mac Mail via a PC and confirmed that there are changes, but they do not come over under this mode. If I switch WiFi off and then check mail using Edge, the changes come right on through.
    I am guessing that the work WiFi is the stumbling block, that even using the Mail app on the iPhone it is trying to reverify that web-access. Anyone got any ideas of any settings that I could use on the iPhone that may allow my to get speedy access from Mail through this WiFi process asking for a verified logon? Thanks.

    If they are limiting access to just VPN, HTTP and HTTPS, then Mail.app won't be able to access the .Mac mailbox, but may try and retry a few different approaches to accessing the mailbox to work around that stumbling block. Working with just .5 MB, that could consume a good portion of your individually available bandwidth.
    At that point, I suspect your network may start trying to block you, until you can make a new connection, because you are using ports that aren't allowed. (25, 143, 587 and/or 993).

    My family and I have the OLD at&t family plan, with 3 lines.We will probably get the newer att family plan, but is it right that you pay $20 a month for another plan, or is that in addition to the $10/month for the existing extra plan?

    What's the deal with ATT EDGE? Does the iphone plan come with the edge service? I'm wondering if I can access the internet while driving in a car without a wifi network near? I know it's free to use my wireless network that I have at my home, but what about the EDGE thing without wifi? Please give me more information and whether I have to get it also...

    I had the same set-up. AT&T Family plan - 3 lines. I added $20 per month to my main number as that's the number associated with my iphone. Net net it wound up being $15 because I had to drop the insurance I was carrying on my razr since iphone is not insurable. Do you have a blackberry now? Or a pda of some sort which receives email? I managed to do a little switching around of things and saved myself a couple dollars - but it's complicated and I won't bore you with details if not necessary. By the way, this guy Shawn at AT&T customer service was so helpful. The most helpful AT&T employee I have ever encountered.

    I made the mistake of uploading all my Outlook contacts from my PC to the iPhone.  Now I have over 100 contacts in my iPhone contact list where I only had 10 before.  How can I delete them?  Do I have to delete them individually?  Is there is way to select the 10 I want to keep and get rid of all the others?  Can I delete everyone than just add the 10 I want in there?

    Depending how many contacts you started with and where they were from? were they on your sim card before? to remove ALL contact from an iPhone go to iTunes / info un-tick Sync Contacts and change Outlook to another addrss book that has nothing stored in it (ie. empty) sync your phone with that and that will leave your phone with no contacts. Next look for the backup where you had your previous contacts loaded (group) and re sync it to put them back. Chech iTunes when you plug in your phone that it doesn't sync immediately when you plug it in to eliminate future problems.

    I'm not sure how to fix this, but my iPhone will not download new messages from hotmail, gmail, or my work e-mail unless I reset phone. I have it currently set to check mail every 15 minutes, but it doesn't. Then when I went to manually check, it just says "connecting" for forever and never downloads, even though I have full EDGE reception. Has been happening since I upgraded to 2.0. Is there any way to fix this without restoring? Anyone else having problems? Am sending just fine.

    I've had this problem ever since upgrading to v2.0. I've read the suggestion about holding the home key for 5 seconds, and will be giving that a try the next time I notice that my mail is hanging up.
    I would hope that this is something that Apple is looking to resolve asap. Granted, I don't have the time in the day to manually reset or check my phone for mail, but it "was" nice to get that little ding every time I received a message on one of several mail accounts. One of the things I've come to love about my iPhone was the ability to have the phone fetch new mail at an interval set by me, and since the new software came out, I've had to reset the phone every time I notice that it isn't fetching or pushing mail. What's the use of having these options on the phone if the upgraded software is preventing the phone from checking/getting mail..

    I got a new iPhone (upgraded 4 to 5).  When I plugged it into the computer, I chose that I wanted to treat it as a new iPhone and did not want to back it up with all the things on my old phone.  I have my pictures and things saved onto the computer, but I subsequently realized this was a mistake because I lost some music and things.  (we have also gotten a new computer recently, and music that was on my old phone had refused to transfer to the computer, which is why it isn't already on the computer and I can't just move it onto my phone).  Is there any way I can undo this action without restoring my phone? I already added some apps and my contacts and everything were added at the verizon store, and I'm not entirely confident in my abilities to do that myself.

    If your music was purchased in the iTunes store, you can just go to your purchases and re-download. If it was from cd's, etc since you have a new computer, you'll have to import them manually to add to your library.
    As far as pictures go, when you have your phone plugged in you can open up iTunes and go to the photos tab and sync whatever pictures you wish from your computer to your phone.

    Have you tried resetting your device? Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If you see the Apple, then the reset is processing and you should see your Home screen shortly.

    Apple does not sell iPhone parts at all. Any parts you can get are either stolen, counterfeit, or salvaged from other phones. So, the answer to your question is: There is absolutely no way to tell whether it will work at all.  The iPhone is not user servicable. You can get an out of warranty replacement phone from Apple for $149. If you attempt to fix it yourself, or take it to an unauthorized servicer, you give up the right to have it serviced by Apple at any price.
