IPhone showing on TV with iPod AV Cable?

Hi. I bought the iPod AV Cable and was told it work with the iPhone.
I can't get the slide show to show up on the TV.
Does the iPod AV Cable work with the iPhone or should I return the cable?
Thanks!

Go ahead and return the iPod AV cable, it won't work with the iPhone. It only works with the iPod with color display and iPod Video.

How do I connect an iPhone 5S or 6 with audio video cables? Our van only has these connections. Apple did have a cable that worked with the 4/4S, but it does not work with an adapter on the 5S. I want audio only.

    I Thought I probably was.
something like this should work then, right?

i tried for update but when i saw the screen its showing an arrow with a USB cable towards itunes icon, and now i'm not able to do anything, i also tried to connect ipad through my laptop but no use

That message means that you have to restore the iPad now. There was a problem with the update. So connect the iPad to your computer and restore your iPad.
You can read bout it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
If that does not work you will need recovery mode. You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
Or you can follow these Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

  • Iphone 6 working just with third part cables!

One week old, Iphone 6, IOS 8.1.2 runned out of battery, and don't charge anymore with Apple original cable (I have 4 original... they all work with my iphone 5s and with another iphone 6 from my family)...
But my faulty Iphone 6 can charge with my third part cable(don't know if it is apple certified)!!
So I could turn it on, and save information thanks for a China cable.
    (I already restarted, restored, followed:
If you can’t charge your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Can someone help please? Any suggestion will be welcome
-If I plug to itunes, even doing a hard reset(itunes red icon) with original cable. Nothing changes... Itunes don't show any message... the cellphone continue showing the red itunes icon.
-Also I want to thanks Apple for this technology, to you win 10 dollars extra from some users. I'm spending a lot of hours to fix this issue.

Did you use recovery mode to connect to your computer?
If you can't update or restore your iOS device
If recovery mode does not work with the Apple USB cable, contact Apple support, the cable for your device is also covered by the warranty.
You can also visit an Authorized Apple Service Provider and let them test your device and USB cable.

  • IPhone SDK - trouble working with iPod Touch 2G

Hello, new Macbook OSX 10.5.4, new iPod Touch running iPhone OS 2.1. Just downloaded and installed xcode 3.1.1 and newest iPhone SDK.
I read the iPhone OS Pre-Installation Advisory document found here:
    http://developer.apple.com/iphone/download.action?path=/iphone/iphoneos_software_preinstallation_advisory/iphone_os_2.1_preinstallationadvisory.pdf
    I created shortcut:
    .../iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.1.1/
    pointed to:
    .../iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.1/
    Checked the shortcut, it works.
Start xcode, open Window->Orgnizer. "Xcode cannot find the software image to install this version" is showing up just below the "Software Version" line. Software version has a value of 2.1.1 (5F138).
If I ignore this and continue to build, sign and try the application. I will receive an error message "Your mobile device has encountered an unexpected error (0xE800003A) during the install phase: Verifying application" I tried disconnect the iPod Touch, power off, power on. Same problem.
I tried to make a complete copy in (not a shortcut):
    .../iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.1.1/
    Same problem.
What should I do to trace this issue?

I wanted to compile and upload the sample app Accelerometer Graph onto my brand new ipod touch 16.
I got the notorious error (0xE800003A) during the install phase, verifying.
i checked all the product id#'s which i just copied/pasted when creating the certificates etc.... so i don't know what's wrong... so what IS wrong?
    here's the logs:

  • Can i watch videos from my iphone on my TV with the USB cable?

Hello. My TV has a USB port but i can't seem to get my iphone videos through my tv by linking it via the USB cable. Does anybody know a way to do this?

You cannot connect an iPod to your TV via USB. You need one of these two cables:
    Apple Component AV Cable
    Apple Composite AV Cable
depending on this inputs available on your TV.

  • ITunes freezes when syncing with iPhone, but works fine with iPod?

It's a bit of a long story with my iPhone/iTunes problem. In late July, my iPhone stopped syncing properly. It's an iPhone 4. Basically, I tried to add more photo albums to sync onto my phone, something I have done before. It began syncing, then notified me that it couldn't sync 'x' amount of photos. It was a pop up on my phone screen. I tried deleting my cache in My Pictures, still errors. Then it seems like everything possible has just glitched when I sync as weeks went on. It wouldn't sync music. The songs would appear gray and failed to play. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it doesn't. Now, iTunes freezes when it reaches the end of the sync and I have to ctrl+alt+del to close iTunes as it stops working.
I took my iPhone to apple, and she ran diagnostics and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. She told me she couldn't run diagnostics on my iTunes because it's a Windows laptop and she's "not trained to work with them". She said everything seemed fine with my iPhone and asked if it was possible if I have a virus. I've had no other problems with my laptop whatsoever and I have a decent virus protector that we pay for monthly.
I have tried restoring my phone twice, with a backup. I tried again WITHOUT a backup, and still, it freezes when it syncs, some songs are gray on my iPhone and won't play, and photos refuse to sync, period.
I then tried syncing my dad's iPod with my iTunes, and it worked. I also tried syncing my iPhone on my dad's laptop, and it worked. So something is clearly glitching between specifically my phone and my iTunes. I'm avoiding uninstalling iTunes at all costs because I don't want to lose play count information as the majority of my playlists are created this way. I thought iOs 7 or iTunes 11 (now 11.1) would fix it, but neither did.
Can anyone determine what the problem could be and how to fix it?

the same thing is happening with me. itunes will freeze and then it wont put songs on my ipod.
im starting to get upset since i just went out and bought a new ipod. thinking that was the problem.
    PLEASE HELP!!!

  • I have a mew iphone 5, my earbuds from ipod dont seem to work in them? Is the new iphone 5 not capatible with ipod ear buds?

i bought a new iphone 5, my ipod earbuds dont appear to work in the phone,, the stem eapears a diff length then the earbuds that came with the iphone5 ?

You can transfer the purchases you made on your old iPhone 3 by plugging it in to iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases from your IPhone to the iTunes on your computer.  This will get music you purchased in iTunes, apps, etc.  (e.g., movies).
But for the rest you would need to restore a backup of your newly deceased computer.

  • IPOD frozen after use with Jensen car stereo with IPOD control cable

I recently installed a Jensen MSR7007 stereo and connected the IPOD mini with a special Jensen cable that allows the IPOD to be controlled from the radio without having to touch the IPOD. It works beautifully and the IPOD display reads "JENSEN RADIO" while it is playing. However when I disconnected the IPOD it was frozen (locked up) with the Jensen Radio display still on it. It was inoperable when I disconnected it and I couldn't even turn it off.
    Please Help.

I am having a similar problem - I just purchased a pioneer DEH-P690UB indash car stereo, but I can not get the radio to recognize my iPod mini (N/A USB). The installar has a newer iPod, which worked when he tested the system, so I have been looking for the new firmware to see if that will help.
Can anyone direct me to the firm ware downloads?

  • 7th generation nano not recognized but iphone 5 is recognized with the same cable.

I just received a 7th generation nano and it is not recognized on my computer.  I used the lighting cable on my Iphone 5 and it detects it fine.  It does not power up or respond to anything.  Did I buy a dud or is there a way to detect it in Windows?  Thanks.

There is no way to interact with the phone if the screen is not working.
Did you happen to have iCloud backup enabled? If so, you'll be able to restore from an iCloud backup and get at least some of your data back.

  • IPhone does not work with IPOD Dock to select next song / pause - play

After using the iPhone at the gym, the IPhone quit working using the remote for the Docking station to navigate to next song nor pause / play. Suspect Iphone connector....
Also the iMuffs Headset bluetooth adapter that plugged into the iphone connector quit working. Tested iMuffs bluetooth connector on another iPhone and is still functioning.
any ideas?? clean connector?? short?? service??
Note, the iPhone still syncs with iMac via docking port (USB). So the connector is not totally bad.

Have you tried a reset...and if that doesn't work ..a restore? Back up your phone before you restore.

  • HT201210 iphone displays "itunes" logo with a USB cable pointing toward it

    Hi
Whilst downloading the latest "itunes" update, I left the room and came back half an hour later to discover the above on my iphone screen.
On switching the phone off to remove the symbol message, the same message on a black background was all I could access each time I restarted the phone.
Any ideas of what happened and how I can use my phone normally again.
    Your help would be appreciated.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • How can I show film taken with iPod touch on pc?

I am attempting to run a film taken with her Ipod touch on her PC without success. Does any have any info that would help?
    regards
    derek

Thanks for the info. not quite what I wanted though.
I had already downloaded the photos and videos and have tried viewing the videos in iTunes, Quicktime and Windows media player with the same result. The first frame of the video appears but will not run.
I should have explained this better from the start.
