IPhone with 2.0 software dropping calls

My boyfriend and I have both downloaded the 2.0 software and are experiencing the same issues.
1. Someone will call us and they say the phone rang and then went to voicemail, however our phones do not ring, we only receive the message. Sometimes we receive the message up to three hours after the person left it.
2. When accessing SMS texts both of our phones seem to take much longer to show the conversation than they used to. (Taking a LONG time to load)
3. We have noticed that with the 2.0 software our batteries are not lasting as long as before.
Is anyone else also experiencing these issues??? Does anyone know of any solutions?? Please help!!! We use our phones for business and this is SERIOUSLY causing issues!!!!! Any help is appreciated.

If you haven't already, try hard rebooting your phones. To do this press and hold the home button, then press and hold the sleep/wake button at the same time, keep hold of them both even when it comes up saying "slide to power off", a couple of seconds later the phone will turn itself off. Now let go of the home button but keep hold of the sleep/wake button and it will turn itself back on.
This may or may not solve your problem - I think your problem is most likely due to the terrible reception people have been getting since the 2.0 update. All we can do is hope that apple release a bugfix update that addresses the issues.

The accessibility options permit only three choices. First, increase type size. With the the low greyscale, thin typeface, increasing type size makes it HARDER to read. There is no option for contrast enhancement. Third, the background switch options suffers from the same deficit as the white background. The third choice is to enhance brightness but without the option to change contrast, this is useless. Am I missing something? Can this be fixed? How? When? Are you planning a similar negative "update"/change to other devices?

I am having the same problem. I have gone through every setting, set the bold font, contrast, larger font....everything I could find in any post to try and help - and between the new color scheme that makes it virtually impossible to use the pictures of my grandchildren as background (the picture colors now become the theme colors - which now match the colors of many of the "flat" icons...) I am finding the phone very difficult to use--espeically things like the calendar which has now become very hard to "see" and use. If I can't revert this thing to iOS6, I may have to get a different phone.

IPhone 4: Blank text messages, dropped calls, slow Internet connection

I thought I was going to be so happy with the iPhone 4 but I am very dissatisfied... Every time I am on the phone the call drops, called AT&T and they can't help and transfer me to apple, still no answer from both parties. I could not believe that they said to use DUCKTAPE.... Are they being serious??????
Also, when I send a text message, most of the time the person receiving the text says it is blank. Has anyone else experiencing this problem?

I just bought a couple of iphone 4's last week (one for my wife and one for me). After two days of using it, my wife commented that her sister (who lives in Los Angeles, we live in Seattle) was receiving "some" messages blank. Originally I thought it was related to my sister in law being on a T-mobile network or just because she was using a different phone.
However, last night, a friend mentioned exactly the same thing. Out of three text messages I've sent, two came in blank, no text.
My theory: We both text in English and Spanish, therefore we have two keyboards loaded on the iphone, so we can switch easily. I have a feeling the special characters in the spanish language is what deters people with other phones/different network to receive them properly. I will switch my keyboard back to English only and post my results.

I have iPhone 5, 15 months old dropping calls!

I bought this phone with 64gb and it was not cheap! My autistic son wanted something powerful with space for game apps! About 10 to 12 weeks ago the phone would consistently drop calls. I would have to call back, very annoying fir a phone whisper primary feature us phone calls! I spoke with 3 the carrier and they were excellent and after the diagnostics did not come up with anything they sent me a new sim just in case. This did not help and phone calls were still being lost! To add to this I would turn my phone off at night with about 40% battery remaining when I turned it on it would shut down and say battery needs charging. I decided this was intolerable and booked a Genius Bar at The bentalls centre Kingston. It was busy I waited an age and eventually git to see a smiley young man who seemed very pleasant. He listened to what I had to say then connected it somehow to his iPad and voila.. He showed me a graphic saying my battery was normal and calls dropped were down to carrier not phone... Thank you he said and I had to leave. I know this is wrong as I had a new 3 sim also my eldest boy has an iphone 5s on three and his never drools calls when mine does and were in the same room!!

Everyone having issues with i4s:Activation issues,dropped calls,no SMS,no Network...read this for a temp fix!

for all the users out there that have issues with thier new i4s having:
dropped calls
no SMS
no Network
Activation Issues
MultiSIM issues
etc.
You guys must DISABLE your SIM PIN!
I know this is not the best thing to do, but until Apple fixes this, this is the only solution right now!

Truth of the matter is ATT was not ready for this. I was ready to turn in my 3G
and go back to my old iPhone when a tech rep at Apple told me to turn off
3G. I went from full bars at home to only one when 3G was on and all of my
calls were getting dropped. After the rep told me this I replied, "excuse me?
You mean the reason I bought the new iPhone, so I can talk and email at the
same time on the 3G network, is not even doable yet?" He replied that they've
been telling customers to turn off the 3G and then the phone would work fine -
which it did. Now I just keep it on the edge network and hope that one day the
3G network will be up to speed and I live in LA! So give it a shot and turn off 3G.

HT4623 Can I update 3 iPhones with the latest software update that are all on thr same iTunes account?

I kept all my iPhones after I upgrading to the latest one each time my 2 year contract was up so I have an iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S. I actually still use all 3 phones for different purposes. My iphone 3gs is not activated, but I still use it for apps among other things when connected to wifi. My iphone 4 & 4s are both activated with 2 saparete phone numbers, but I have all 3 devices on the same iTunes account. I never noticed this to be a problem until just recently when I was thinking about selling one of my iphones since I'm now due to upgrade again to the iPhone 5. Well my problem is that when the latest iphone software update came available I noticed that all 3 iPhones had a notification letting me know that there was a new update available & I didn't want to update my iphone 4 & 4S until I had a recent back-up on my pc just incase anything went wrong like once before. Referring to the last time I updated my iphone 4s for some reason right in the middle of the update it lost connection. So I had to restore my entire phone from scratch & because I didn't check to make sure that had a recent back up right before I updated I ended up losing a lot of important information. So anyway since my iphone 3GS I knew had a recent back up & plus it doesn't have a lot of important information stored on it I chose to go ahead & update it first. Then later on when I went to update my other two iPhones I noticed the notification that was there before on all my phones to let me know the update was available was now gone & it would not give me the option to update either of my other two phones. I don't know if this is true or not, but I was later told that Apple will only let you download the free update software on only one device on each iTunes account & since I have all 3 devices on one itunes account I could only choose to update one. I didn't know this beforehand so I used the update on my 3GS which I barely use except to play with on wifi & now my other two iPhones which are the main ones I use are both activated now function very slow & constantly crash. Also if I was to choose to sale one of the iPhones without the latest software update on it does that mean that the new owner will not be able to get the latest update meaning the phone would be out of date without having that latest software installed? If anyone knows how to help me fix this or give some advice I would really appreciate!!

That's utter non-sense.
Just connect your 4 & 4S, iTunes running, & hit the "Check for Updates" button, or you can update directly on the phones(if running iOS 5.0 or higher): Settings>General>Software Update.
iOS 6.1.3 is the current iOS version for both phones.

How did you get the unlock for your 3GS? If you recently updated to
iOS 6 and your SIM stopped working after the update, the most
likely reason is that your iPhone had been hacked/jailbroken/modified
to work with your Carrier and the update relocked the iPhone to the
original Carrier.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
If it does not name your current cellular provider, then the scenario
is as I laid out above. In this situation, Google may help as you can
get no assistance here for jailbroken iPhones.
If that is not the problem, give some more details and someone will
answer.

After downloading the iOS7 software my battery was having MAJIOR issues. Issue #1 Phone does not keep charge, #2 my iphone no longer accepts a charge from wires that are 3rd party(meaning a lightning bolt charger that is not made by apple), #3 Once the phone reaches 100% i will sometimes keep it on the charger as I use it but as I am using the phone on the charger, the percent of the battery starts to decrease as if it was not on the charger. #4 The lighning bolt DOES NOT blink while charger and it does not disappear once the phone is fully charged so it looks like the phone is still charging. Can someone please tell me what I should do and is it normal for the lightning bolt to blink while charging and disapear once the charge is full??

Can you shutdown the computer (Mac I suppose), then do the SMC reset and after that a PRAM reset (without the iPhone connected, also disconnect all external devices).
SMC reset for computers with no removable battery:
1. Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
2. On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option(Alt) keys and the power button at the same time.
3. Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
4. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Test the iPhone (with all other external devices still disconnected), still the same issue? If yes,
do the PRAM reset:
1.Shut down the computer.
2.Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3.Turn on the computer.
4.Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5.Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6.Release the keys.
Test the iPhone (with all other external devices still disconnected), still the same issue?
If yes, disconnect the iPhone and test if everything is ok with sevral external devices connected, if OK: It may be a failure in the iPhone.
If no, there maybe an issue with the USB of the mac. But: you have to test by starting in another account in which you onle start iTunes and no other programs. It might also be a software failure of a user program.

First, if you have not already, I would restart the iPhone then try again.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
After the device has turned off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

When do you know you have a problem with your phone and dropped calls?

My iphone 4 hasn't really been a problem but I've noticed and all the people who call me notice that my phone is dropping a lot of calls. It's almost dropping every other call, and that is awful should I go back to the store and take it back? I don't want to waste anyone's time or should I be angry. I try not to get ****** over a phone but my 3GS never did this.

You have 30 days to decide. Albuquerque has good to moderate 3G coverage. It is possible that ATT has again been overloaded with a mass of new phones and may need to make adjustments to their service. I am lucky to live in S Florida where coverage is great. However, if your coverage was marginal to begin with you may have trouble. I would let it sort itself out by July 24 the 30 day mark for most and decide than. The only thing to be mad about is not being able to have the phone you want at this time. In spite of what appears to be a large vocal group on this forum, who are really have problems, most of the 1.7 million phones are not. Again see what plays out in your 30day trial and make your decision accordingly.

When i connect iphone 3G to computer everything is ok, but when i try to connect with itune its not work and writing : " This iPhone cannot be used because the equired software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install itunes again."
I try everything and use all of itunes versions un all QuickTime versions - i already get all computer updates and i dont know whats a problem.
Im try nearly everything and now getting tired because i try to work out that nearly a two weeks.
