IPhone won't turn on or connect to iTunes after trying to restore/ios8

Hello i bought this iPhones 4s broken to fix as he stated it was faulty and thought it was a screen problem as he could hear siri but i couldnt hear anything when came but:
Once i bought it i tried the usual resets with the home and power button etc. Nothing happened
I dissconnected the iphones screen and put an iphone 4 screen on as that's all i got at the moment (i didnt't screw in just connected cables to test screen)
I connected to Itunes and it said "this iPhone is in recovery mode, please restore"
I restored and had to update to ios8 to so i did it. It then turned on on the iphone and came up with apple logo and prgress bar.
iTunes said "waiting for iPhone" and the prgoress bar did not move at all so i disconnected phone and left tillnext morning.
Now it won't connect or show up on my Mac, and 2 other computers.
Is it because i stopped the restore as it was stuck now won't tun on at all?!?

Hard to tell. However, since the iPhone does not have user serviceable components, once you opened the device, you forfeit any warranty or post warranty support from Apple and the forum. You are going to have to try and figure this one out on your own.

  • How to wipe all the data on a broke iPhone 4? it won't turn on or connect to iTunes

Hi there, my iphone4 does not turn on or connect to iTunes since it broke, however it was still working till the battery ran out ( I noticed it was still working because my app was on and the status showed up on my computer as I was online through my iPhone). So I believe that all of my data are still on that phone, it's just not responding to me, I hope that I could get my stuff back somehow, if this is too much to ask, at least I would like to wipe all my personal info before trade it in, any idea? Thanks a lot in advance!

  • IPhone won't turn off or connect to wifi

I have the iPhone 4S and recently I have been encountering many problems with it. I don't know if they are problems with the hardware or the software but my facetime hasn't worked in a long time and my phone hasn't connected to wifi in the past two months. Sometimes the wifi turns off and the bar to turn it back on is dim while other times it turns on but doesn't acknowledge anything to connect to. In addition to the wifi troubles, occasionally my phone screen will turn black for a little while and after some time it will just wake up. The apple doesn't show up so I guess that means the phone isn't turning off- just sleeping. Also, sometimes my apps won't load and then my phone will automatically turn off. Occasionally, my touch screen stops acknowledging the fact that I'm touching it and other times my phone won't turn off. I hold down the power button and the phone just goes to sleep. As you can probably tell, my phone has been malfunctioning a lot and it is starting to get annoying. I don't want my apps to be deleted because I have some that are no longer in the app store and they are very valuable to me. My computer storage is too full to back up my phone though. Any suggestions on how to solve my problem without deleting my apps or any of their saved information?
    Thanks,
         A frustrated iPhone owner

  • My iphone 4s won't turn on or connect to itunes

The phone shows it is charging and when I disconnect the phone from the charger, it shows that its disconnected. It won't actually charge, it won't turn on and the computer doesn't recognize the phone.

I figured it out on YouTube. DFU mode is the key.
Hold the power Button and the home key until the apple illuminates. Keep holding it until the apple logo goes off again. Let go of the power button, but keep holding the home button down for 7-30 seconds. Itunes will recongnize your phone, even though your phone doesn't turn on.
So far so good! Its retoring now...

  • IPod won't turn on or connect to iTunes

About a week ago my home button on my 5th generation iPod stopped working, so I have been using assistive touch. Tonight I had just updated iTunes on my pc while my iPod was charging through it. I took my iPod off of the charger and was using it online. While I was on it, it randomly turned off. I tried turning it back on, but it never worked so I connected it to iTunes after it was done updating. When I plugged it in nothing came upon my pc screen or my iPod screen. I also tried charging it with my wall charger but nothing came up. I have read about troubleshooting, but seeing as my home button doesn't work, I don't think that is an option. Please help, as I am extremely stressed and do not know what to do.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Hello JD_NINJA,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • IPhone 3GS has gone completely dead, after telling me to connect to iTunes, after trying to update the software.

My parents are about to recieve an upgrade to their contract which currently is an iPhone. They asked me to sync their iPhone to iTunes to save the settings, should they get an iPhone again.
When I tried to sync the phone, iTunes prompted a software update (this doesn't suprise me as they wouldn't see the need to connect it to the computer ever!)
Naturally, I accepted this update, only for an error to occr. (I didn't see this, my Dad said it happened but didn't note the error code down.)
Then, when I went to use the phone, it said on the screen, "connect to iTunes". On doing this, neither iTunes or the phone had no response. I set the iPhone into recovery mode to restore it from iTunes, and the phone flashed white for half a second and then cut out. I've had no response from it since, tried charging and leaving it plugged into the computer.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Oddly, I've now fiddled with it a bit more, and I can manage to get the Apple logo up for a short time, but if I let go of the hold button it cuts out again.
If I continue to hold it, the logo turns into connect to iTunes. I do this, no response from iTunes.

  • When I turn on iPad it says connect to iTunes after attempting a restore

Been having a bit of trouble with my iPad recently so thought I would do a factory reset to try and fix it. So i put it on to do the reset using iTunes and left the room, only to come back 5 minutes later and see that my iPad is showing the iTunes logo with the USB plug-in image. Which I thought was odd as it was already connected to iTunes in the first place when i left the room...I disconnected and re-connected a couple of times with no luck, however the sound on my laptop was coming through as though the laptop was recognizing the device had been connected but no such luck with iTunes picking it up and recognizing the connection. I then tried turning the iPad off a few times and turning back on to no avail. I then started searching online for answers and solutions about trying to go into recovery mode but the iPad wont. When I press the power down button on the iPad I do not get any 'slider' or anything to swipe as you normally would when you turn off an apple device. When I try holding down the home button on the iPad whilst connecting the iPad to the USB which is connected to my laptop it does not go into recovery mode. But I am still hearing the noise as though the laptop is recognizing the device, it is just iTunes that is not. I do have the latest version of iTunes, as that is what I thought would be the initial problem so I downloaded it but it made little-to-no difference. I believe the system software on the iPad was up-to-date too.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? Been searching online for solutions for the best part of 2 hours now and nothing is seeming to work or make any difference.
If anyone can help I am grateful
    Thanks

UPDATE: I have managed to get it working, after disconnecting and re-connecting over 50 times, iTunes finally picked it up and I have now completed the factory reset and everything is now working as it should

When I was connecting my iPhone 5s to my computer to update it to iOS 8 it started working perfectly fine but then it said looking for iPhone and then it wouldn't find it and it told me error and now my iPhone is stuck on connect to iTunes even though it's already connected. • My iPhone 4 is stuck on the progress bar/connect to iTunes, been trying to restore it for about 3 hours, tried everything and nothing is working?

I've updated iTunes, checked all the network etc connections through iTunes and they are all fine. I've restarted my laptop twice, I'm an administrator on it, I've done the msconfig thing. It wasn't jailbroken or anything like that. It's been stuck at the same point on a progress bar for ages - before that, the progress bar completed fully twice, and still came up with the 'connect to iTunes' logo afterwards. I am at the end of my tether, and I need to fix this as soon as I can. Please, is there anything else I can try?

  • Ye olde stuck in 'connect to itunes' after attempting to restore to factory

    Hi everyone.
(I'm sure you've all seen this problem a gazillion times, and in-before-anyone-says "use the search feature", I have done, extensively all day, and have gotten nowhere despite applying the advice)
I've been gifted an iPhone 4, which was locked to EE. Online guide from Vodafone claimed that choosing to 'restore' your iphone via iTunes would restore to factory and remove the lock. Unfortunately what seems to have happened is, iTunes has attempted to update me to latest iOS, and in the process something has gone horribly wrong, now I'm stuck on the 'connect to itunes' logo. Connecting to my computer results in iTunes error message saying: "Your iPhone can't be updated; you must restore it to factory settings. If you previously backed up the iPhone, click Restore Backup after the restore process completes."
After completing the loading bar for 'Extracting software' I keep getting an error code 3014 which I've been able to ascertain is usually a connectivity issue. So far I have:
Put phone into DFU mode as it crashed on the Apple logo (with a grey line beneath), which is what imo created this loop
Setup port forwarding for all ports necessary for iTunes / iCloud
Attempted to use 3rd-party program to Exit Recovery mode, worked but then went straight back into recovery mode.
Disabled my firewall (Comodo) during attempt, still results in error code 3014
Created a new user profile with admin priviliges, error code 3014
Attempted to install an older firmware in case it's trying to update me to iOS8 or above, error code 3014
Reset my hosts file, zero entries yet again, error code 3014
I'm now at a complete loss as to what to try next... something tells me 'throwing at wall' or 'jumping up and down on' will not be viable solutions to the issue! Would greatly appreciate some help from the community.
Oh also worth mentioning, I don't have another PC or access to one at the mo to see if it's my PC's settings that are causing the issue.

Check this support document, if you haven't, for some additional troubleshooting steps. http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201442
If that will not do it, you can take a look at this and see if Recovery mode helps. If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
The last resort would be to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider for assistance in restoring.
