IPhoto didn't install with Mavericks

Hi all,
iPhoto didn't install when Mavericks was downloaded, is there any way of getting it seperately, rather than downloading it all over again?
Many thanks,
Isobel

Ah, I see. I messgage came up saying that it hadn't installed, but that would make sense as to why!
Many thanks for your reply, much appreciated.

  • IPhoto didn't install with fresh Leopard install. How to install?

I'm afraid I might have to re-install the entire OS, but before I go there, is there any way to simply install iPhoto on its own?
I've also got Pacifist installed to try to find just the iPhoto package but I don't see it on the disk in anything other than resource files.
    Thanks in advance!

iPhoto is not included with OS upgrades - you need to install from the restore disks that came with your computer or the iPhoto upgrade that you purchased if you have upgraded previously - use a custom install - install bundled software only option - <a href-"http://www.macworld.com/article/132243/2008/02/pacifist.html"> see this MacWorld article for additional information

  • Mavericks install incomplete. No Apple installers on HD. Will I be able to upgrade to Yosemite and will it fix all that didn't install with Mavericks upgrade? Very slow connection speeds 30 hrs to download Mavericks. Tried re-install; no help/

Ever since upgrade to Mavericks I have been having problems which are too numerous to mention. I finally found a program from a UCBerkley professor called Pacifier which indicated 4000+ of 400,000+ files and folders did not install. I was unable to go further to try to fix everything because Pacifier can't find ANY Apple installers on my HD. It recommended I download the Mavericks installer without reinstalling to continue; however, after having done so (very slow connection; takes 30 hours to download) and although the installer appears in apps while downloading it disappears and NO Apple installer packages can be found on my hard drive. I tried to download Yosemite once and it indicated my system wasn't eligible for the upgrade. Its' download time was similar to Mavericks; 28+ hours.
    I am using a Macbook Pro mid-2012 version OS X 10.9.5 (13F34); Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5; Memory  4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3; Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB.
Regardless of how many files and apps I remove my memory is being eaten up to the point I can hardly do anything at all. There are no civil words for how frustrated I am. Someone please help me.
    Thanks,
    JJ

Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer.

  • New macbook air didn't come with Mavericks?

I ordered a MBA last week from the apple store and received it today -ordered it with additional RAM.  I am surprised it didn't come with Mavericks installed since the version of the OS was released last month.  Anyone know a reason for this?

There are a few people getting such machines, they can do it for you at the Apple store if you need help, its free regardless.
As for "new old stock" , we are talking about something thats only a few weeks old as "old stock without mavericks".

  • 32-bit windows 7 install with Mavericks - need Boot Camp 4?

    Hello,
I've tried fairly extensive searching and can't find precise answers, wondering if anyone can help?
I have a retina MBP (mid 2012) with latest OS X (Mavericks) installed, and thus Boot Camp 5 installed.
I have an academic version of Windows 7 ("for students and faculty")
My Windows version is 32-bit "upgrade" license, thus requires pre-existing OS key, ALTHOUGH I'm pretty sure it never asked for prior license when originally installed on my old windows machine.
    1) Will this work? If TRULY an upgrade version of Windows 7 my understanding is no
    2) 32-bit versions of windows won't work with Boot Camp 5, correct?
    3) Can I install Boot Camp 4 on my machine, and thus install this 32-bit version of Windows 7 (assuming I can get around #1 above)
    Thank you!

    Thank you,
    1) according to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634? I cannot use Windows XP for MBP retina (mid 2012), thus I cannot install my original (full) version of XP, then upgrade win7 onto that?
    2) How do I know if boot camp 4 will work with my hardware?
    3) I was directed to http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1635 - described as "boot camp support software" - is this the same as boot camp 4? If I download this, will it "install" boot camp 4 on my system and allow me to install win7 32 bit version? (again, with the limitation that I might not be able to install my copy because it is an upgrade copy)
    Thanks!

  • IPhoto v9.5 crashes with Mavericks

I updated to Mavericks yesterday on my mid 2012 MacBook Pro and have updated to iPhoto v9.5 today.  When i opened iPhoto initially, it told me i needed to upgrade the library to work with the new version of iPhoto.  I chose the option to upgrade and left it to get on with it.  However, iPhoto then crashed before the library opened.  Now whenever i try to launch iPhoto, it crashes after a minute or two and tells me that iPhoto quit unexpectedly.
    Help!!

  • IPhoto won't work with Maverick

Please can anyone help.  Also note I am not a techie!  I have upgraded to OS X maverick and now my iphoto wont work. Keep getting the message:  "Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable"  From what I can gather I need to possibly re-build it.  Got no idea what that means!  I backed everything up to Time Machine/Time Capsule before I started but I can't access anything before the date I put the new OS on my laptop.  (Macbook pro/13").
Any help would be very greatly appreciated as there is thousands of photos saved in my iPhoto and I would hate to lose them.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi pollyt30,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you see a message that your iPhoto library is unusable, first make sure you've updated to the latest version of iPhoto. This article explains how to update applications using the Mac App Store:

Backing up your library was a very good idea, and repairing/rebuilding your iPhoto library is the next troubleshooting step. This article explains how:
iPhoto 6 and later: Rebuilding the iPhoto library
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2638
    To rebuild the iPhoto library:
Quit iPhoto if it is open.
Hold down the Command and Option keys on the keyboard.
    Open iPhoto.
Keep the keys held down until you are prompted to rebuild the library.
A dialog will appear with rebuild options. Select the options you want to use.
I'd suggest trying each step in order, and seeing if your library opens in between each step.
    Best,
    Jeremy

  • IPhoto not longer launches with Maverick upgrade

Upgraded to Maverick and now iPhoto won't open. Keeps telling me it is updating - launches the App Store as if it wants to update but no updates available.

I'm having the same issue. I supposedly have 9.5 and it installed on October 23rd. However, it keeps throwing up the error that iPhoto is being updated, it launches the App Store, and there is no update. It's becoming really inconvenient.

  • Java Web Start didn't install with j2sdk-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe

I just uninstalled all my java stuff from my XP Pro system
    then re-installed... j2sdk-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe
With the SDK installation... j2re1.4.2_04 also installed... I think this is the Java Runtime
But, before I had a folder for Java Web Start... not I don't...
    AND, the file... javaws-1_2-windows-i586-i.exe
refered to on the Java Web Start Installation page isn't on my system anymore...
(It was in an older vrsion of the Java Runtime... ( I had 2 java Runtimes at once installed, that is why I uninstalled... and even though I had Java Web Start, it wasn't working... so I deleted everything and reinstalled the j2sdk-1_2_04-windiws-i586-p.exe.)
I would just download the java Web Start but the docs tell me it should be installed when the SDK and Runtime are installed... so I worry if I got the installation correct.
Can anyone please advise me of how to get things working again.
thanks for any help - Will

I fixed this broblem just install both JDK and JRE.

I recently installed adobe premiere pro CS6.  I don't see Photoshop or After Effects as an application.  Note:  I previously had Adobe Elements 12.  Do I need to uninstall that in order for Photoshop CS6 to install?  I am definitely a newbie so please be gentle...

with your two licenses you can install and activate both.  if you need installation files:

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

  • IPhoto won't work with Mavericks??

    Hi,
I just got mavericks on my used mid-2011 macbook air. iPhoto now has a white slash going through it saying I need to update it. The problem is that when I try to update it, the apple ID that it is connected to is the previous users. I have no problem repurchasing if that is my only option I just need to know how to do it without losing all of my photos!
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Your Photo's are not part of the iPhoto App
Photo's are located in ~/Librbay/Pictures/iPhoto Librbary

  • Dreamweaver didn't install with CS4 programs (web premium)?

I recently installed CS4 web premium, and noticed that dreamweaver was not an option to install on the initial installation, and it was not loaded onto my computer at all.  The only sign of it is a DW alias that is an uninstall but there is not DW to remove?
Has anyone had tis problem?  Should I uninstall everything and retry?
    Thanks for your help!!

Thank you so much David!  I didn't even remember I had downloaded the trial version a while back.  I was able to follow the Cleanscript instructions after uninstalling CS4.  Then it worked perfectly to reinstall
Thanks again!  I had tried contacting customer service via phone and support portal, and was not helped much at all.
