a common problem is that you don't have permission to upload those files, but it is an easy fix
1) Finder
2) Users(it should have the account name on it)
3) pictures
4) right click on iphoto library then click info
5 on the bottom of the new window there should be a sharing and permissions tab
6) make sure you have permission to read & write
The only other problem I can think is that you are having problems with hard drive space. if so you might want to clean up your hard drive to free up some space. please let me know if that worked for you.

Recently updated from iPhoto 09 to 11 and iPhoto won't import pictures from Kodak camera. Says it doesn't recognize file type "jpg". Imported pic last week from same camera just fine. Also upgraded to OSX 10.6.8– this is when the problem started. I don't want a work around solution, as I know there is a fix for this. Just can't find it.

There isn't a fix. Workaround: use a USB Card Reader.

1. Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner. You would be better off carrying around a USB Flash Stick with Portable Firefox for use on "strange" PC's.
2. You could open the "Library" {Ctrl + Shift + B} and highlight all those bookmarks and then delete them all at once. But that would also delete all the other bookmarks, and it isn't foolproof. All another person would need to do it to '''''restore''''' a bookmark backup file that has your bookmarks. Beyond that, a new Profile could be created and then the current Profile deleted; but that's "messing with" someone else's computer - an action that is worthy of terminating a friendship over, IMO.
And if that "public" computer was set up properly, Sync should have been disabled.

Just had my computer less than 10 days... I have problem opening up iphoto, note and notewriter...all close unexpectedly and can't open these app.
What cause this problem and how to fix it?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) IPhoto Doesn't recognize my camera and my macbook won't connect to it

Have a Kodak EasyShare V610. Can't get the camera to connect to the macbook and have iPhoto acknowledge it. Tried the blue tooth (which previously worked) and can't connect using the USB cable either.
Recently had a hard drive failure and have been having this issue since.

also try renewing your iPhoto preference file - A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help

I moved a file and can't open it anymore

Hi! I'm using a computer at work, so I'm kind of worried that I messed something up.
I wanted to use the equation editor in microsoft word, so when I found where it was on the computer (maybe under applications?? I can't remember), I moved it to the desktop so that I could always find it more easily. But, I guess that wasn't a good idea because now I can't open it at all. I tried moving it back into the applications folder, but it still won't work. Any help would be appreciated! I'm afraid I broke the computer.

Is this the Equation Editor for Office 2004? If so, I believe it is supposed to reside in the Office folder inside the Microsoft Office 2004 folder. I think you only access it in Word.

Help! iPhoto doesn't recognize my camera anymore

My Pentax Optio S4 has worked great for the last couple of years - when I plugged in the USB cable, iPhoto opened and all went well. Now all of a sudden nothing happens, and iPhoto doesn't recognize the camera and neither does Image Capture. Did I inadvertantly DO something, or does anybody know what happened and how to get my seamless importing back?

Move the "com.apple.iPhoto.plist" and the "com.apple.ImageCaptureApp.plist" files from your user's "Library >Preferences" folder to the trash and reset the Image Capture preferences to recognize your camera.

Camera Raw won't open certain JPG files from Bridge, others open in ACR with no problem.

I've searched the internet and the Adobe forums and cannot find a direct answer to what I'm dealing with.
The issue I am having is that Bridge CS5 (current version 4.0.5.11) will open some JPG images in Raw with no problem and others nothing happens at all. All the images come from the same source (Fujifilm Frontier SP2000) so I really don't understand why Bridge ignores some of them as being openable in RAW. For example, say this roll of film has 36 images. If I "Select All", right click, and select "Open in Camera Raw", it will open whichever it deems acceptable in RAW and nothing happens at all to the others (The RAW dialog will, for instance, only open 10 images instead of all 36, and the remaining images are not altered in any way).
I've made sure that Photoshop is prefering Adobe Camera Raw with Supported Raw Files and in Camera Raw Preferences I have the box ticked to Automatically open JPGs with Settings but nothing helps.
My work around is to one file at a time in the Photoshop Open dialog, selecting an affected JPG file and have it open them as Camera Raw instead of Jpeg.
Any ideas? It's done this for quite a while and I have no idea how to fix it.

Iphoto doesn't recognize black and white jpg files

I scanned in an old black and white photo and it is a jpg file. When I try to drag it into iphoto it doesn't recognize the file. I tried changing the file by going to soft proof with profile, checking RGB, saving it and re-importing it but no luck. When I reopen the file, I noticed that my settings never saved in preview. How do I permanently change this files settings?

Cannot open CS6, it craves JBX-plugin, and my Mac doesn't recognize the file so I can't download

I wonder why CS6 is not complete when downloaded? Why should I have to download JBX? If needed it should be a part of Indesign. My Mac doesn't have a name of a file to open and download, so now I simply don't have CS6 and can't convert my book to Kindle for sales on Amazon.

Screen saver can't recognize .jpg files in photo folder

I just upgraded my iMac G4 (power PC) from OS X 10.1.3 to OS X 10.4.8 and am having a serious problem with my screensaver (I guess serious is a bit blown out of proportion since for me it is a fancy feature to show off family photos). I know where to look to find my own picture files. And thankfully I don't have the problem of not getting the option to choose my own file like I noticed others have had. But when I go to my pictures file in my home, the screen saver just doesn't recognize picture file formats (I've tried .jpg and .pdf). The files are there in the list, they are just listed in grey and not selectable. Thus the screensaver is black and says in white writing that there are no pictures in my file. I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I know you don't select individual photo files for the screen saver, but when I pick a folder (that contains photos recognizable by preview or iphoto) that is in my "photos" file in my home, the screen saver does not recognize that there are any photo files in it. And by the way, downloading new .jpg files from my camera in my new OS X 10.4.8 did not solve the problem. The strange thing is that the "desktop" program can see the files (both old photos that were created in OS X 10.1.3 and my newly created files). Weird and annoying!

I can't import MXF files shot on a Canon C300 into FCP 10.1.2. I have the Canon plug in for MXF file to FCP import but FCPX still doesn't recognize MXF files when I try to import. Premiere works fine importing MXF on the same computer.

I did uninstall and re-install Canon XF Utility and the Canon FCPX plug in. Still no luck. I checked the CanonXF64.RADPlug folder is on my computer in the Rad Plugins folder in application support This is where it is supposed to be as far as I can figure out.
Another piece of the puzzle is that footage shot on a Canon C300 in 2013 and I reimported today and it DOES import into FCP10.1.3. Footage shot on a different Canon C300 filmed this summer will NOT import into FCPX. The latter will import into Premiere. But I am trying to work in FCPX, but maybe I shouldn’t be??
Any ideas? (screen shots below)

FYI Here is what Canon says
"There is another trick that works sometimes though. Try uninstalling the plugin and XF Utility. Then, install the latest XF Utility, followed by the plugin, in that order."
I did do this but no results. Otherwise they say I need to wait for a new plugin.

Here's 2013 Canon C300 files does import into FCPX. I thought it was Contents folder but another set of footage shot on C300 does import and there is no contents folder for that.

I can't import Nikon NEF (RAW) files. It says it doesn't recognize the file. Help.

I just installed Nikon Transfer and then View NX2 with Nikon Transfer 2 and successfully transferred over 300 RAW (Nikon NEF) files from my camera (Nikon D600) but Lightroom (v5.6) won't import them. It says it doesn't recognize the files. How can I resolve this?

Obsolete versions of Nikon software corrupt Nikon raw files slightly making them unrecognized in Adobe products.
You can reverse this corruption by using the utility from the following webpage:

Basically you need to use Nikon software that is at least as new as your newest camera or don’t use Nikon software at all.
