IPhoto doesn't show all photos in photostream

Apple supposedly saves the last 1000 photos I take for 30 days.  What if I only take 100 photos.  Will all 100 photos stay in my Photostream indefinitely?  OR, will they be deleted after 30 days?
On my iPhone I can see all photos I've taken in the last year in my Photostream, but in iPhoto only the last month or two show up and I can't find the rest.  I'm confused.

Photos in the Photo Stream section of iPhoto are not imported into the library.  Instead they reside in this folder on the hard drive:
After 30 days they will be removed from the Photo Stream and the hard drive.  You need to select the photos in the Photo Stream window and drag then onto the Photos or Events icon in iPhoto to import them into the library so they are permanent.

  • ATV doesn't show all photos in slideshow

My ATV3 doesn't show all my photos in slideshow. It seems to repeat the same, say 50, over and over, even though I have about 400 in the folder on my windows7 PC.
    Whats the fix?
    Thanks
    Andy

For the avoidance of doubt are you talking about the screensaver or the slideshows.
Slideshows should show all your photos, but screensavers will not. Screensavers need to save the photos to the Apple TVs flash storage, the Apple TV doesn't have a lot of this and so limits the number of photos it uses.

  • IPhoto doesn't recognize all Photo Stream albums.

When I take a photo with my iPhone, the photo goes to my photo stream.  I then send it to my TV Photo Stream album.  The TV Photo Stream album is displayed on my Apple TV.  My issue comes when I sync my iPhone with iPhoto.  iPhoto doesn't display all my photo stream albums, i.e."TV Photo Stream"  How do I get iPhoto to display all of my photo Stream albums?  I only use one account, so I know that I am signed in under the right ID.  I am not sure were to post this inquire, should it go to Photo Stream or iPhoto?  I am not sure what App has the issue, or is it just me?  Thank you,

    iPhoto: 9.5.1 (902.17)
    MacOS X version 10.9.4
Upon opening iPhoto, it asks me what photo library I want to use. At the left hand bottom there is a box saying (translated by me from Norwegian):
"iPhoto cannot start without a photo library. Select a library from the list, find another library on the machine, or create a new library to import files into. The library you chose now, will be used automatically next time you open iPhoto."
Then there is a box with no libraries listed, and underneath I've got the options of creating a new library or simply clicking "other library".
First time this happened I created a new library and thus there are 2 libraries: iPhoto-library and iPhoto-library_2 to chose from when clicking "Other library" There is also a non-selectable (grey) "Photo Booth-library" in the same list, which is in the path user/Photos/iPhoto-library or .../iPhoto-library2. But when clicking either of these the "open" button just keeps flashing indefinitely. Upon trying to open iPhoto-library or iPhoto-library_2 from Finder, it just opens iPhoto and prompting me to chose library like before...
The only thing that I changed (I think) is that I installed PSE 12.

  • IPhoto doesn't show all tagged photos

I Apply tags to my photos in iPhoto on ios to keep them organized and easily searchable. But when I select a tag to filter all the photos it has been applied to it doesnt show all. The tag reads 30 photos but only nine of them are displayed in the grid after selecting the tag. Is this a known bug?

    Hello foo-on-air,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of what you are seeing. If you are having issues viewing all of your tagged photos in iPhoto for iOS, you may find the following article helpful, in particular this portion:
View flagged, tagged, hidden, or edited photos
Tap the label above the thumbnail grid.
If the thumbnail grid doesn’t appear, tap . (The orientation of this button changes depending on the orientation of your device.)
Tap an option to select the photos you want to see. To see only hidden photos, tap Hidden. To see all your photos (including the hidden ones), tap All & Hidden.
To view photos that meet several criteria (for example, photos with multiple tags), tap Advanced. Tap Any to display photos that meet any of the included criteria; tap All to display photos that meet all of the criteria.
To sort the photos by the date they were taken, tap either Oldest First or Newest First.
You can also display photos based on more complex criteria that includes or excludes certain types of photos from being displayed. After you tap the label above the thumbnail grid to open display options, tap Advanced. You can then select which type of items should be included or excluded from display. Tap Any to display items that meet any of the Included criteria. Tap All to display only items that meet all of the Included criteria.
    What are albums?

  • IPhoto doesn't show magnified photos

iPhoto shows only thumbnails and when I doble click on a photo, only change the bottom bar tool, but the display doesn't refresh and the thumbnail photos keep showing on the screen. Also when I select Edit a photo, the display area where it was supposed to show the full size image keep black.
I right click on a photo and choose ->Show File and I see that the photo's path is Macintosh_HD/users/AngelSolorio/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals/2007/Madrid/"x".jpg. And the size is 3.1 MB.
However, if I doble click over any image in my Hard Drive, Preview doesn't show anything.
    Someone can help me, please?

How are you getting the images into the library? You must import them. This is from the iPhoto help:
In addition to transferring photos from your digital camera, you can import photos from a flash drive, memory card reader, CD or DVD, or other locations on your computer’s hard disk.
If you’re using Mail, you can drag photos directly from an email into iPhoto. To import photos received when using another email client, including webmail, or when downloading photos from the web, first save the photos to your desktop or in a folder on your hard disk.
You can also scan photos and save them on your computer or save emailed photos on your hard disk, and then import them into iPhoto.
iPhoto supports popular file formats such as JPEG, TIFF, and RAW. Other formats also work but are not fully supported.
To import photos without a digital camera:
In iPhoto, choose File > “Import to Library.”
Navigate to the location of the photos you want to import (for example, a CD icon on your desktop or a scanned photo file saved in a folder on your hard drive).
Select one or more photos, or select an entire folder or disk.
    Click Import.
You can also drag individual photos or an entire folder from the Finder into the viewing area. If you drag a folder, one or more Events are created based on subfolders and the dates the photos were taken.
IMPORTANT:Wait until all photos have been transferred into iPhoto or click Stop Import before ejecting a memory card, CD, or DVD.
NOTE:Some card readers may not be compatible with iPhoto. For more information, check with the manufacturer of the device.

  • IPhoto doesn't display all photos that are in Masters

Hey guys, so basically my problem is that my last two imports using my Nikon point-and-shoot have not appeared in iPhoto 11.2.3. The imports were apparently successful but the photos went only into Masters (within the iPhoto Library file) and I cannot see the two latest Events in iPhoto.
I've just reinstalled OS X Lion 10.7.3 and iLife 11 and have fully updated both using Software Update. I've added the Library (10,000 photos) back into Pictures and fired up iPhoto to no avail. I have previously tried rebuilding the iPhoto Library - even checking all the options and waiting an hour or so.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kieran.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • IPhoto '09 doesn't show all photos in Event

I"m sure this must be simple, but I don't use iPhoto a lot.  Here's the problem.  In one of my Events I've got about 150 Photos; however, when I want to sync it with my iPad or Mobile Me Gallery it only shows 3 of the Photos.  I can't figure out what the issue is.

Put a test photo on the desktop and import from there.  Then delete it from the desktop and try to enlarge the photo in iPhoto.  If it enlarges OK the library is good.  If you get the exclamation point the library is damaged. If that's the case try the following: make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - delete  the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot and the option to rebuild the small thumbnails.

  • Iphoto doesn't show me photos in my library

    Hello,
first, sorry for my english, I'm french...
After a complete reinstall of SL and a save of my iPhoto library, I copy-paste my iPhoto library that I saved on an external HD and after reinstalling iLife and open my iPhoto library all my photos are still here but there is no thumbnail for all those. As for faces, events, photos...
The only way to see my photos is to double-click on one !
I tried to repair permissions, rebuild library (by CMD+ALT at opening), but nothing to do.
I really don't want to lose all my organisation, faces, events... by squeezing my library and reimport my photos
Does anyone had this problem and solved it ?
    Thanks for your help

The next step would be to rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be untouched for further attempts at fixing or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Apple TV doesn't show all pictures in photo stream

I have about 1000 pictures in my photo stream, but my Apple TV doesn't show all of them. It shows only 304 photos. How can I get all my photos to my Apple TV via photo stream? I have the latest Apple TV and the latest operating system on it.
    Edit:
And I have tried to reset Apple Tv and photo stream.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there (subject to a 1,000 photo limit) until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

  • IPhoto app doesn't show any photos from my photos app

I just upgraded my new iPad to iOS 6 beta. Maybe that's the problem but suddenly my iPhoto app doesn't show any photos at all. All the tabs (albums, photos, events, etc) are empty.  When I open the app it says "updating photo library" briefly, but that's it. I tried rebooting, deleting the app and reinstalling it, basically everything I could.  Is this a known iOs6 bug?

Ok, I have the release and I have the issue, photos are just boxes w no pictures, is there a way to remove library and reload? The photo app works fine and all pictures are there.

  • IPhoto 11 doesn't show the photos that I just imported from an SD card, but says its importing to library 15 min after SD card is removed.

iPhoto 11 doesn't show the photos that I just imported from an SD card, but says its importing to library 15 min after SD card is removed. The import seemed to start normally, I went to mail to check messages, came back to iPhoto & the usual prompt about wanting to delete the photos on the card never came up. The photos didn't show up in events or the library & the device icon wasn't showing so I tried to import again. A prompt then came up saying that I needed to wait until the import was done!

Hi, this problem is also happening to me also. I just took some pics of my daughter on my nikon d3100 and imported them from SD card to iPhoto. It says 'preparing to import' but during the process i do not see the photos being imported. After it was done, there was a new event album, i clicked opend it to see my photos but all of them were blank. I forced quit and re-launched iPhoto but it didnt work, i even re-imported, not to no avail.. Please help.  Earlly 2011 13' MacBook pro 10.7.2

What does one do when iPhoto version 7.1.5 only opens one event without showing all photos or any other events?

Depends -what other clues? What recently changed? Do you have a good current backup?  best guess is to Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - and repair the database - if that does not resolve things rebuild your iPhoto library database

Do the photos display correctly in the media browser when the mail library ("iPhoto") heading is selected? If so, you could simply add the photos from the library rather than the specific album. Alternately, if you have to select your photos from an "album," you could try reselecting the photos in the main library in the iPhoto application and create a different album to see if all photos then show up in the secondary album in the iMovie media browser.
If the "missing" photos do not show up under the main "iPhoto" heading in the iMovie media browser and do not show up in the main library in the iPhoto application, then the files may be corrupted. In this case, simply re-import the original files if possible. You could also try to force a rebuilding of the thumbnail cache, but this is usually done automatically when the application itself detects inefficiencies in thumbnail access or when the application is updated. In any case, there does not appear to be a manual menu option to do this arbitrarily when the user so desires. I suppose you could try to locate and delete the cache manually and hope this forces an automatic rebuild the next time the iPhoto application is opened but I am personally not that familiar with the package structure to advise such action at this time. You might check the iPhoto forum and see if anyone can help you further in this area of endeavor.

  • When i go into finder   click on pictures why dose it not show all photos just lets me open iphoto

when i go into finder   click on pictures why dose it not show all photos just lets me open iphoto

Ralph9430 offers a good suggestion.  But you may need to do this before taking his advice:
Check in iPhoto's Preferences (which you can open from the iPhoto menu).  Look in General, and make sure "Connecting Camera Opens" is set to "Image Capture").
If it is set to "iPhoto", you won't be able to get to Image Capture easily.
