IPhoto froze and now no images at all

I was working between iPhoto and PSE6. I had taken an image from iPhoto into PSE6 to edit. Suddenly it froze the whole computer. The only thing I could do was hold the power button for a few seconds to shut the whole machine down. Now when I open iPhoto the iPhoto screen opens with absolutely a white screen and iPhoto freezes. It freezes the whole machine for a few seconds and then boots out with a message offering to report it to Apple. I have 2,000 images of our summer swim team in iPhoto that we are doing a fundraiser with. Yikes. Thanks for any help.

I tried a lot of suggestions that I found in other posts and nothing worked. I found a suggestion that I should hold the option key along with the command key while opening iPhoto and then checking the second to last box to rebuild library that way. It worked.

  • Iphoto froze and now won't work after restarting... help

I uploaded pictures to my MacBook earlier today, and while editing them, iphoto froze. I restarted my laptop and when I opened iphoto, it comes up, but doesn't show anything and gives me the rainbow circle meaning its trying to load. I have restarted my laptop many times now to try to get it to work, and it does the same thing everytime.
I have a MacBook, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. It normally works fine, till I was editing today. Please help!

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Iphoto froze and now I can't open it!! HELP!!

I opened iphoto, imported a few new images and then the program froze. I could not do anything and I had to force shut down. When I turned it back on and opened iphoto it came up with a message that said "your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable." I tried to do what it said but nothing works. Have I lost ALL my photos!!! Please HELP!!

Simple, quick solution: restore from your back up...
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.

  • I updated to iphoto 11 and now cant find any of my photos. Have they all been deleted?

I updated to iphoto 11 and now cant find any of my photos. How do I find them?   Have they all been deleted?

Your iPhoto library should be intact - you can find it in your home directory in Pictures>iPhoto Library. Hold down the option key when you open iPhoto and you'll be prompted to select a Library. Select "iPhoto Library" and you should have your photos restored.

  • My ipod just froze and now all i see is a white screen

i dont know what to do my ipod just froze and now all i see is a white screen.

    Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If not successful and you can't turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour, try the above again.
    - If still not successfully that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipad 3 froze and now is not turning back on what should i do?

my ipad 3 froze and now is not turning back on what should i do?

    Hi,
I have the same problem. My Ipad 3 was a bit slow/unresponsive, and then it just went blank. I pressed the home button to see if it would come back on, and it was extremely slow, but it did show me the home screen. However, then it went off and wont come back on at all now. I have tried charging, tried the reboot, connected to itunes (which cannot detect the ipad) and nothing is working.
The ipad is only 2 months old, and no damage!
    Any suggestions? Thanks

  • I tried to update the software for my iPhone 4S. It froze, and now won't turn off, or on, or sync.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

I tried to update the software for my iPhone 4S, 16 GB to the most recent version (8.1?).  I don't know what I was updating from, because I can't access that, but it was whatever was installed on it (I got it about a year ago, so probably 6.something).
It froze, and now won't turn off, or on, or sync with my macbook plus, which is what I have always sync'd it to.  (I backed it up and sync'd it right before I tried to update the software.)
Since it originally froze almost 3 hours ago, it shows a white screen with the apple on it and a line underneath.  When I try to sync with my laptop, it says it needs me to enter a passcode on the phone, which I can't enter because the screen is frozen.  So I'm unable to access the iPhone portion of iTunes.
I have tried to turn it off, with no luck.  I have tried rebooting my laptop and syncing, but I still get the same result.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I really wanted to wait to update the software, but I was having internet connectivity issues for the past 3 weeks, and Sprint suggested updating the phone's software.
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi NWL1,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone won't update and is stuck. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • I had to restore my ipod touch and now I have lost all my games.  Is there a way to get them back?

I had to restore my ipod touch when doing an update and now I have lost all my games.  Is there a way to get them back?

    Restore from backup
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
