Iphoto not printing full photo, cropping some photos

After I create a photo with pixilmator or any horizontial and export to iphoto, I can see the full photo, but when i print it cuts off the edges and only prints the middle.  I have tried selecting different sizes, changing horizontial view to vertical view, nothing works.  I had to print and send a copy of a licence, similar to a car registration format, and that too had the ends cropped out.  Please help.  so far i have to print photos from the pixilatore program or and adobe program, no problems there, only have problems with iphoto.  using epson stylus nx420.  Please help

As noted in the other thread you posed this question in you must crop the photo to the print ratio and then print - iPhoto does not "autosize" photos - if you try to print a 8x12 photo on 8x10 paper you will lose 2 inches - you have to precrop the photo to the size you want to print

Imported photos, transferred some photos to new album, deleted originals, ones in album are gone. How do I retreive them?

Check the iPhoto trash - if they are there select them and right click and restore to library
If they are not there then they are gone
You really should take the time to learn how to use iPhoto - photos exist only in one place  - in your events - albums, keepsakes, etc are just pointers to the actual photos in the event - deleting from an album does just that - deletes from the album - deleting from an event removes the photo and therefore all albums, keepsakes, etc
watch the videos as a starter - iPhoto help menu ==> iPhoto help and watch the video
also more details (for a previous version so some menu items are in different places but the concept is the same) - and it would be a worthwhile investment of time to take the iphoto tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/ - they are very helpful and will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I'm trying to make a slideshow in iMovie, but when I upload photos from my Aperture Library into the iMovie Photo Browser, some photos (305 out of 427) are missing. How do I get iMovie to upload all of them?

I have same problem. I could only see a fraction of my project photos if I browse the Aperture lbrary. It is the same problem when I sync the aperture photos to my iPhone or iPad. I still cannot solve it but I know a way to go around it for your iMovie to see the pictures so that you can work on your iMovie.
    Here is the work around:
Export the photos from your album to your hard disk and re-import into your iPhoto. Now you should be able to see those photos that you want to work on in iMovie when you browse your iPhot library.

  • Document not printing full size

I am a new pages user, and I am creating a magazine for an english class. Two out of four of my articles do not print full size, even though the paper size is set up and everything else seems to be full size. When I look at print preview, the article is shrunk down and I have no idea how to go about fixing this.

    Kurt,
I'm not implying it's a bug. I recognize that it's a "feature." But I'd like to be able to print my doc without having to first turn the Comments feature off. It would make a good Preference selection. But I also like your idea about the warning.

  • IPhoto not printing photo as shown

Just got the miniMac. iPhoto is cropping some of my photos in the preview and the print - isn't showing the photo as was cropped by me. any help?

    Mulevaline:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Are you cropping the photos to the size you want to print before trying to print? What size are you aiming for and how are you going about it?
    Happy New Year
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • IPhoto file too full to accept new photos

the system is a mac book pro 2009 running 10.6.5 and iphoto '09. iPhoto has run into a file limit. there are about 35,000 items in the iPhoto file. the internal hd of the mac book pro is also full. -- 7 GB available.
i photo file is on a 250 GB external (OWC) with a 240GB partition for iPhoto and 10GB partition for misc. a check of "get info" shows the iPhoto 240GB partition full.
a complication, prior to getting a space available reading, 400 new photos (about 1.5 to 3 MB each) were downloaded and attempted to be placed in the already full iPhoto '09 file. now, when iPhoto is opened, the spinning busy ball is the only indicator - no other iPhoto actions are available. the machine was left on overnight, and iPhoto still shows the spinning busy ball.
the 400 photos are sill saved on a SD card and could be trashed if necessary to get out of this fix. but i do not know how to do that.
a new OWC 1TB external HD is ordered and on the way, but it is not clear how to proceed to save the existing iPhoto library and then transfer it to the new 1 TB hard drive.
i did some looking online and found Pogue's iPhoto'09 missing manual, chapter 13, file management. but it does not seem to cover what i need to do here. i am aware that iPhoto is very fussy about how its files are addressed and one can easily destroy them by an untutored action. here is the link to pogue's instructions (scroll to p. 309)
    http://books.google.com/books?id=LG43X_8DtgC&pg=PA309&lpg=PA309&dq=iphotofile+too+full+to+accept+newphotos&source=bl&ots=0dRCENUcL6&sig=5E-8SE5WjV5r3D2w4MMwmNmc9vk&hl=en&ei=1p8aTe7 AIML38AajhIzXDQ&sa=X&oi=bookresult&ct=result&resnum=3&sqi=2&ved=0CCsQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q&f=false
so in summary- how can i accomplish the following:
    - stop the spinning ball associated with trying to load 4,000 new photos in the already full iPhoto file?
    - set up a new iphoto file on a generous partition of the new 1 TB ext hard drive?
    - move the iPhoto items from the old 250 Gb hard drive safely to the new 1 Tb?
    - establish the new 1TB hard drive as the only iphoto file for this system?
i have probably left out something important as well.
thanks for your help - j

First off: the problem isn't that iPhoto is full. iPhoto is good for 250,000 images. The problem is the volume (or partition) that the Library is on is full. Attempting to add the extra photos means that iPhoto was unable to write to the database file, which has been damaged.
So, you need to move the Library to a bigger disk. You can do this by drag and drop.
    Then Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Finder date and Iphoto date are very different in some photos

I run Iphoto 9.6 on OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 with an Imac 27" of mid 2010.
Some photos have wrong date in Iphoto while the right creation date of these photos are in the finder (exif dates are always correct).
Because, i have more than four thousand pictures with wrong dates, is there a way to fix that issue easily (by a script or a utility ?). I discover when there is a difference between those two dates, it's always a difference of + 6066 days and 11 hours ??? Like that, some photos appears to be done in 2045 ???
Some body came help me ?
    Many thanks in avance,

    Poelger,
thanks for your interest, please let me explain it better.
I have 2 data blocks. The 1st one is a single record, non-database block, where I input some parameters, and one of these parameters is a date field. This date field will be passed via PL/SQL inside the form to compose the search criteria.
:BLK_PARAMETER.date_field receives 02/02/2009 as typed by the user, being configured as a field which receives data in date format (dd/mm/yyyy). This date is used inside a form procedure called PRC_SEARCH_CRITERIA, which mounts a variable called p_where. Please consider the code below belongs to PRC_SEARCH_CRITERIA.
    p_where := 'trunc (date_field) = ''' || :BLK_PARAMETER.date_field || '''';
    set_block_property ('BLOCK_BEING_QUERIED', default_where, p_where);
I ran it on Oracle Debugger and I saw p_where being mounted as:
    trunc (date_field) = '02-FEB-09'
And, when my form executes an execute_query instruction, it raises FRM-40505 error. I copied this p_where value and tried to run it in Oracle SQL Developer, where the error was the same. When I edited it on SQL Developer, changing this date to '02-FEV-09' (since "february" in english is "fevereiro" in portuguese), my query ran finely. So it seems to me that Oracle Forms and database aren't configured to use the same date format, maybe they're using different language date formats.
I need to understand this behavior and act so this should not happen again; now I solved this problem in other ways, but 1st of all I would like to understand it better, so I won't repeat it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Franklin

  • Having trouble with iphoto, will not print full image

Having trouble with iphoto on my laptop and desk top computers.  On laptop will not let me print full image and having trouble getting correct rotation to print
On desk top printing too dark and cannot get correct rotation there either, seems like the problem just started recently

    Ronleedek-
What App are you using with the microphone?  I've used Skype, which has a "test call" feature to check your microphone.
There is a good chance your microphone is defective, possibly disconnected inside the iPad.  If an Apple Store Genius can not fix it, you may get a new iPad on the spot.

  • IMac, iPhoto not printing correctly

I have an iMac and print to a Canon ip4200 wirelessly. I bought the printer from Apple with my iMac and have tried to print 4x6 photos to the printer but it doesn't print correctly. I went through the print setup in some detail choosing the canon printer, the media (Canon 4x6 photo paper), yet the preview window comes up with red text that it cannot be setup to print like this. I have double-checked the canon manual and the paper is in the tray correctly. What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you
    Clyde

It's probably a setting in iPhoto that is causing it. I don't know about the later versions of iPhoto as I am still using version 4.03 but if I remember correctly one thing you have to do is to crop the photo to 4 x 6 and then make sure the settings in both iPhoto and your printer match.
You may have more success asking this question in the iPhoto forum as that is where the real gurus for that application hang out!

  • IPhoto not printing properly to P-10

I downloaded the correct driver for my Olympus P-10 digital printer, and iPhoto recognizes it. The printer prints fine directly from the camera, however, when I try to print an edited photo from iPhoto 5.0.4, the full image does not print. A portion of it does, depending upon what constraints I have set in the edit process. I've tried multiple configurations of restraints to no avail. So far, the closest acceptable print is to set the layout to "N-up" which essentially prints four 4X6 photos to a page, but even that is not as good as it should be. What am I doing wrong in iPhoto?
    Thanks in advance.

  • IPhoto not printing

since updating to 7.1.3 iPhoto - cannot print. I get a message saying: "There were no themes located. Until at least one theme has been installed, this feature will be unavailable."
In Application Support I have the iPhoto themes. Don't know what to do.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    Restoring iPhoto Themes
First look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation process described below:
1 - delete the current application.
2 - delete any files with iPhoto in the file name that reside in your HD/Library/Receipts folder.
3 - delete the Themes folder from your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder. Also look in the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If there is one there then delete it also.
5 - boot into the system disk that came with your computer and do a custom install selecting only iPhoto.
After installing reinstall the iPhoto 7.1.1 updater again followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility. Also make sure you're running the latest Quicktime, 7.3.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
