IPhoto on iPad2

How do I delete photos in iPhoto on an iPad2? Delete does not work.

If the photos are on the iPad from a sync with iTunes you must sync again to delete them. When you sync - uncheck the photos in iTunes to deselect them and then sync again and they will be erased from the iPad.
Photos in the Camera Roll can be deleted directly from the device - all other albums or photos that have been synced must be removed as described above.

  • Editing a Journal in iPhoto on iPad2

Using the Journal with my iPad2 in iPhoto, can I change the order of photos during edit?  By this I mean other than the obvious way of re-sizing them.  There is a randomness to that method that I would like to not have to deal with.

  • HT4221 Syncing from iMac/iPhoto to iPad2 destroys the picture order...?

Why is the order of pictures in iPhoto albums destroyed when syncing via iTunes to iPad2?
It can be solved by giving each album picture a new alphanumeric name which defines the wanted order. But this is time consuming and boring and should not be necessary.
It's appreciated if anybody can give me an easy solution to this annoying issue.
    Many thanks.

  • How can I Group/put in Folders my iPhoto Albums on the iPad2?

How can I Group\put in Folders my Albums in iPhoto on iPad2?

You can't currently create new albums, or move photos between albums, directly on the iPad - it has to be done on your computer prior to syncing them.
With iOS 5 in the Autumn (from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos) :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device

  • ITunes can't sync photos to iPhoto

    Hi,
in iTunes 10.6 / Apps tab / File Sharing, when I add my photos to iPhoto on iPad2, they are transfered, but when I start iPhoto, there is no transfered pictures at all.
    Bug, or I'm missing something.
    Thanks

I have a similar problem. Updated to iPad 2 to iOS 5.1 and Mac to iTunes 10.6 today. Now the app file sharing (i.e., file transfer) in iTunes does not transfer files for any apps. Restarting, reconnecting do not improve the situation.

  • Download straight to iPhoto?

Prior to converting to Apple and iPhoto, I used Kodak Gallery online for photo storage. They have now sold to Shutterfly and I want to download the thousands of photos that I have there to my MacBook Pro iPhoto and iPad2. Kodak went bankrupt for a good reason, they don't offer software that will allow me to do it all at once for Mac OS-- only Windows based PC's. SO, I have to individually download each photo and move it to iPhoto. Is there a way to download directly to iPhoto rather than to my download folder? That would save me a load of time.

This may work - In the download window, click on the "Where" scroll arrows.
The next window-see if iPhoto folder shows up

  • How do I fix the below sync issue between iPhoto, iTunes, my iPad2/iPhones

I am having this issue with iPhoto'11. I had the issue at one point in iPhoto '09 but eventually I fixed it but I don't know how. I was told it's a problem with my iPhoto library.
Here's the problem: When syncing with either my iPad2/iPhone4/iPhone3GS it tells me not all photos were were synced to my devices because there is not enough space, even though there clearly is enough space. I don't think it happens with my AppleTV2 but maybe that's because it's streaming, not syncing, to my ATV2.
Any thoughts on how to fix? I'm also seeing that only the places and albums icons are included within the photo app on each device. Do I need to somehow repair my iPhoto library?

Make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select options #1 and #6.

  • Is there a way I can sync and keep more than one iPhoto library from my MacBook on my iPad2?

Hi, I have several iphoto Libraries on my MacBook - as it's a good way to organize all my photos and keeps them in manageable form - but I would like to keep them on my ipad2 aswell.  In the normal way I can only sync one Library at a time - unless someone knows better!
Many thanks and hope you can help.

found solution...i've now got iphone sync'd between new IMac and macbook pro (meaning that I can now add songs, video, from both computers...i don't know about all that sync of contacts and mail, etc...not concerned with that at moment..)
follow solutions here:....http://www.iskysoft.com/topic-iphone/sync-iphone-with-multiple-macs.html. NOTE: as mentioned in my previous post, I was unable to change my Library Persistent ID, as it would always revert back to the original....however, in the link above, one user, made suggestion to corrupot Itunes Library.itl, and then it will repair itself with Library Persistent ID (of old/original machine), and now it works..!

  • How can you erase a certain event from the iPad2 but keep it in iPhoto?

I have two events that were split up by iPhoto when it synced to my iPad2. Collectively there re about 400 photos in the two events and they were split into over 50 separate events some labeled sequentially as 102IMPRT 103IMPRT....and so on, and otehrs labeled with the original event label.   I have not been able to regroup the events. they are still OK as two Events in iPhoto. My latest idea is to try to export the files from iPhoto without the geo and file name to a folder. Erase the events in iPhoto and then reimport them  into new events in iPhoto. Then sync to iPad.
Before I did all that I wanted to remove the split events from my iPad. I tried to remove them from the iPad by unchecking the source events but checking all others in iTunes before syncing but that doesn't work probably because the pieces all have different names in the iPad. Maybe unchecking the events just doesn't sync them or make any changes..I thought that if you unchecke the events it would remove them. The real problem probably is that the spit events don't exist in iPhoto.
I did remove them from the iPad once by checking sync with nothing by unchecking iPhoto in iTunes. But that removes the whole library of 10000+ photos. I did that and restored an old library from before the time the events were split (from Time Machine) then resynced with the newest iPhoto and it split the same two events again in pretty much the same way. I got nowhere and it took 4-5 hours to delete and reload the10,000 photos.
Is there any way to remove events from the iPad that the crazy sync is creating, and don' t exist in your iPhoto library or on your iMac and iTunes without destroying the rest of the library of photos on the iPad??

I tried syncing with the sources unchecked so no photos would sync. When it got done it erased all the library photos except the messed up events, they remain on the iPad. The Vacation photos are in two albums, one is called camera roll, and the other improted photos. None of the photos were taken with the iPad camera and should not show up in camera roll.
At this point I am going to restore iPad2 to factory settings and sync from computer not backups and see what happens!

  • When I send a photo directly from iPhoto using the Mail app on my iMac, the wrong photo appears on my iPad2 Mail app.  However the correct photo shows if I log into gmail on the iPad2.  I assume there is a glitch with my "Mail" app on the iPad2.

When I send a photo directly from iPhoto using the Mail app on my iMac, the wrong photo appears on my iPad2 Mail app.  However the correct photo shows if I log into gmail on the iPad2.  I assume there is a glitch with my "Mail" app on the iPad2?  Any suggestions for getting the correct photo to show on iPad2?

Update:  I was able to have the correct photo show in my email as received on my iPad2 by changing a setting on my IMac prior to sending the photo on the email.
On the iMac, I went into iPhoto > Preferences > Email photos using > Mail (in lieu of "iPhoto").  This seems to have corrected the issue.  I'm not sure why.  Now the correct photo shows up when received on my iPad2.

  • TS3195 My mac mini (Snow Leopard, v10.6.8) does not acknowledge my iphone 4, iphone 4s or ipad2 in iPhoto, Image Capture, iSync or Preview but it does in iTunes.  I am at a loss for importing photos, short of emailing them.  Glitch with OS X 10.6.8 ?

My Mac Mini (v10.6.8) does not acknowledge my iphone as a device in iPhoto, Image Capture, iSync or Preview although, iTunes does.  I am at a loss for importing photos other than emailing them to myself. Same problem with my iphone 4, iphone 4s, ipad2 and New iPad. Is this a problem with OS X 10.6.8 as I read some posts claim? Please help.

I was able to import photos in iPhoto and Image capture when I was running SL 10.6.8 on my older MacBook.
Did you try quitting everything, restart the Mac and then try again?
Are there any updates at all for the Mac? I was helping one user not all that long ago and there were updates for her Mac software that had nothing to do with the OS and when she downloaded the updates - the iPad was then recognized in iTunes.

  • When I edit photo's in Iphoto on my ipad2, it decreases the resolution. Why does this happen and does this also happen on a macbook air?

I have made pictures on high resolution with a Canon 100D camera, which means the pictures are 5-6 MB.
But when I edit them on my Ipad2 in Iphoto it decreases the size and resolution of the pictures to about 0.5MB
Does anyone know why Iphoto decreases the resolution of my pictures when I edit them?
And does this also happen with Iphoto on a macbook air?
    Thank you.
    Onno

I have made pictures on high resolution with a Canon 100D camera, which means the pictures are 5-6 MB.
Are the photos raw photos or jpeg? When you edit raw photos in iPhoto on your iPad, the raw image will not be processed, only the embedded jpeg. That will reduce the resolution of the image considerably.
But when I edit them on my Ipad2 in Iphoto it decreases the size and resolution of the pictures to about 0.5MB
How do you save he edited version after editing?  That will determine, if the image will be scaled down,
For a full-resolution edit you need to share the edited photo to the Camera Roll,
see this help page:   Edit a photo
If you edit a photo in the iPhoto Camera Roll album, the edited photo automatically appears in the Camera Roll on your iOS device, at the resolution of your device. If you want a full-resolution version of the edited photo sent to the Camera Roll, tap and tap Camera Roll. The full-resolution photo appears in the Camera Roll, and is transferred to your computer when you sync the Camera Roll with your computer.
And does this also happen with Iphoto on a macbook air?
iPhoto on a Mac has a lossless workflow. iPhoto will always store the original image file that you imported and compute an edited version from this stored original.  The quality of the photo you will see outside iPhoto will depend on the methode you use for sharing. You can export at the original size or scaled down, depending on the purpose you want teh photo for, small for email and web presentation, full versions for printing, for example.
