Iphoto stops responding when trying to export photos

I'm trying to prepare my photos from my summer holiday for the internet by using the Share>Export feature and letting the program resize them while I'm at it. The first batch worked perfectly, I resized some 250 photos, however I'm not able to finish the rest since Iphoto stops responding everytime I try to export photos. It doesn't matter if they are 20 or 200, it always stops responding and I have to force quit it. Does anyone know what the problem is and if it is fixable?

Right click on one of the photos and reveal in finder - what happens?
Is there any change a file with the same name as you are trying to create in the location your are exporting to (if so export to a new folder)

iphoto stopped working when trying to export pictures to facebook - iphoto page and export flip down froze open -  cannot do anything with them - any idea what's wrong or what I can do to fix this?

Force Quit iPhoto (Use Force Quit under the Apple Symbol in the upper left of this page). If you continue to have problems please re-post in the iPhoto's forum, it's located at:

  • Lightroom 5.7.1 stops responding when trying to import photos from iPhone.

As the title says, when trying to import the photos from my phone which I've done with Lightroom for a couple years now, the program stops responding entirely. This happens with both mine and my wife's phones. We did leave hers plugged in over night and it eventually started responding again and I was able to import her photos. But I can account for at least 5 hours during which it was not responding first. I'm not sure what changed over night that finally let it work again.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

You're sure you want to stop using iphoto? Then I would try it this way instead:
Export each event in your iphoto library separately, put the photos where you want to keep them and use "from files and folders". If there's an event that the organizer chokes on, then you'll have to go into that one photo by photo to see where the problem lies. (You are aware that using "from iphoto" is duplicating your entire iphoto library, so you don't want to do that AND keep using iphoto, right?)

  • Firefox does not respond when trying to upload photos or files to Facebook, Google+, or similar sites.

When trying to upload photos to various websites, Firefox brings up the pop up to view and select locations on your computer, but it never fully loads, it just kinda freezes, never allowing you to select files. I eventually get a 'This program is not responding' message and have to force close.

    Second times a charm!!!
Maybe the link I had 1st time had a bug or something... I had installed it, restarted computer and all, exactly same process... and it had done nothing.
But download page wasn't the same. Real weird.
Good thing is, now it works!
So to anyone who has had same problem, tried the "patch download" solution and didn't have any success (like me previously - which is why I posted)... TRY AGAIN! The link above works!
    Thanks

  • IPhoto goes black when trying to edit photos - help!

iPhoto has suddenly decided to go black screen (where the image should be) dark when trying to edit photos.  Permissions are fine (read & edit) so that's not the issue (has been offered on mac forums as a solution to this problem in the past).  I am on a MacBook pro 2.53 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, running OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53).
Any help is greatly appreciated in advance.
    Thanks!

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • IPad mini stops responding when trying software updatea

IiPad mini stops responding when clicking "agree" when updating software

Close all apps on the iPad, reset the device and then try the update again.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Iphoto crashes when trying to export photos

When I try to export photos from iphoto the program crashes.

Trash the HP Plug in from /Library/Application Support/iPhoto
There are two libraries where this plugin might be
    HD/ Library
    and
    HD/Users/Your Name / Library
(On 10.7 or later: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
    Or
This one is inside the Application itself.
    Path:            /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/MacOS/iPhoto
So: Applications folder and find iPhoto.app. Right click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A Finder window will open at the Contents folder. Within that you'll find the Plug-ins folder.

  • IPhoto 9.6 stops responding when trying to print

I just upgraded to iOS 10.10 Yosemite and now iPhoto 9.6 stops responding if I try to print something.
Even if I open it and immediately hit print with no picture selected, it stops responding.
I can work within the program, i.e., move pictures and files around but the minute I hit print, it stops responding.
    HELP!!!!

    Try the following:
    >
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 -  select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox  "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.
4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
5 - in the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2:  Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
6 - try to print from this rebuild library.

  • IPhoto not responding when trying to rebuild permissions library

I did the latest OS upgrade about a month ago now and nothing has been good with my iMac since.
Please help!!! iPhoto not responding during photo library permissions repair process. Cannot get access to 10 years of family photos. This process is systematically erasing my four childrens childhoods from my picture library.

Seriously, how can anyone help you with that amount of information?
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • Firefox stops responding when trying to "save page" or "save image"

Windows 7 64 bit and Firefox 28. When trying to 'Save Page' or 'Save Image' the save dialogue window is nearly blank, then info bar shows 'not responding'. I have tried all the tips in the support pages. Resetting Firefox, Starting Firefox in 'Safe Mode'. Upgrading graphics driver to latest version. Turning off 'Hardware Acceleration' in options. Nothing resolves the problem. This issue has only recently started, the last time I tried saving an image it worked fine, certainly prior to Microsoft's most recent 'upgrade Tuesday'.
    Edit:
Checked the save dates of the last images I successfully saved from within Firefox and compared them to my windows update log. The Microsoft March 'Update Tuesday' was installed on March 14th. My last successfully saved Firefox images were saved the following day on March 15th. Thus it is unlikely that the Firefox saving issue is a result of a Windows Update corruption. So the question is what changes have Mozilla made to Firefox between 15th and 24th March 2014 ???

I understand that finding a root cause is ideal, and I would be happy to further investigate this with you.
Since it is still happening in Safe Mode [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-issues-with-plugins-fix-problems please try to troubleshoot the plugins and extensions]
The other route is to troubleshoot the downloads folder and antivirus to make sure the downloading of the image is not having an issue either. [http://mzl.la/LJ0h2w]
In the meantime there is an add on that enables this [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/save-images/ Save Images]
Please post back with your results, there have been other reports, but no issue filed yet.

  • ITunes Stops Responding When Trying To Play Video - Windows 7 64bit

Ok, I've been getting my new Win7 box up and going. Everything is working great with the exception of iTunes.
Setting up iTunes / Quicktime is quick and easy. After a single reboot then launching iTunes and trying to play any video results in "iTunes has stopped responding". Then it shuts down.
If I either, re-install iTunes or Quicktime. Video works again, until I reboot. Then I end up with the same error message "iTunes has stopped responding".
I've ran the test over and over, probably a dozen times. I re-install and all works again, until I reboot. And yes, I scanned for viruses, I've check and rechecked settings.
Can anyone help!? I really want to move everything from my XP machine to Win7, but this one thing keeps holding me up.

PLEASE!! ANYONE! No one has any ideas?

  • ITunes stops responding when trying to restore from backup

I tried to restore my iPhone 5 from encrypted backup, but everytime I launch iTunes get the stops responding message and shuts down.  I managed to backup from iCloud, but it is painfully slow.  Does anyone konw what could be going on here?  I never had this problem whit my iPhone 4, both on iOS 6.  I am running Windows 7 with latest iTunes.

It happens with my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 as well without encrypted backups.  Anyone see this behavior or know how to fix?  I removed all Apple software and reinstalled and the backup worked once, now back to the "iTunes has stopped working" error.

  • IPhoto Stops responding when assembling new book

I've been trying to buy a book on iPhoto but it keeps freezing out every time. This is a 50 page photo book, and after I click on the "Buy Book" button, the "Assembling Book" process starts, but after no more than 7 pages out of 50 of "Assembling", iPhoto simply freezes and stops functioning, I've had to Force Quit iPhoto every time because it simply doesn't work further than the 7th page. I've restarted my computer a couple of times, I've tried connecting through WiFi and wired connection and still, my book will simply not go through. Is there a problem on Apple's side, is it something on my book or my computer ? Thanks for the comments and help.

is iPhoto up to date (version 8.1.2 I believe)?
is there a map in the book?
have you previewed the book? - Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

  • Aperture freezes when trying to export photo

Everytime I edit a photo in Aperture, the program freezes when I try to export the photo.  Why?  I can't even "force close" the program, I have to turn off the computer!

I can't even "force close" the program, I have to turn off the computer!
Try to send a signal from the Terminal, as described in this user tip:
If Aperture is unresponsive, how to quit?
Everytime I edit a photo in Aperture, the program freezes when I try to export the photo.
    What is your Aperture version?
Have you tried any trouble shooting steps?
First of all check, if you have enough free disk space for the export. The oprating system needs working space in addition to the size of the of the exported image file. Keep at least 10GB free.
Where are you exporting to? To a folder on your system drive or an external drive? Do you have write permissions on that folder?
Try to repair your Aperture library - see this Manual page:
Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library: Aperture 3 User Manual
If repairing the database  does not help, try "repair permissions" as well, and finally "Rebuild".  Make a backup of your library, before trying to rebuild.
