IPhoto "unrecognized format" error when importing

Looking for some help on a weird one here.
I recently upgraded my Intel iMac to Snow Leopard and iPhoto '09 from Leopard and iPhoto '08. Recently, I've been getting an occasional error message when trying import images that have been scanned and placed in a folder in my Pictures folder.
Scenario #1 - I tried to import a folder with 7 different PNG images in it. iPhoto started the import process and then brought up an error message stating "Unreadable Files: 6 The following files could not be imported. (The file is in an unrecognized format.)." What I don't understand is that it imported one of the images. If it recognizes one PNG file, why not all of them? All were scanned at same time with same settings. I don't believe it's PNG specific and the next instance will explain why
Scenario #2 - I tried to share some images out of my iPhoto '09 library with my wife who is running a MacBook w/ iPhoto '08. I dragged an event directly to my drop box folder. She launched iPhoto and tried to import those images. Of the 154 images (all JPG's), she kept getting an error message that 27 of them were an "unrecognized format".
As an FYI...my existing iPhoto Library has 21,250 images in it. I was once told by an Apple Store employee that they have seen many times that iPhoto starts to act weird after a photo library reaches 20,000+ images. Not sure if that's true, but thought I'd mention it.
Anyone have any ideas here? This is really frustrating because I have a lot of historical images I need to scan and import. I don't want to fight this problem through that entire process.

Hey there TD....sorry for delay, but I've been too tied up lately to try the new account idea. Going to do that later and thanks again for all of your help.
With that said, thanks to all for the feedback and comments. There is some very interesting stuff going on here, but I don't believe my issue is solely related to B/W images. I believe there is some validity to that theory, but not solely. Of the original 7 images that I scanned in Image Capture, 6 of the 7 were B/W and the only one that successfully imported was a Color image. To dispute that theory, the 2nd scenario I mentioned above was all Color images that were originally imported from my Nikon D90 (RGB format). I was copying those images from one machine to another and then tried to import them when I got those images. Machine they came from was running iPhoto 09' and machine they were going to was running iPhoto 08'.
I have gone back to scanning those B/W images in Epson Scan (finally got Epson to straighten that issue out). What I noticed during this last round is if I tried to import a large number of images, I'd get an error on a few of them. My work-around has been to only import 4 or 5 images at a time. Since doing that, I have had no issues with importing any of my B/W scans.

Hi All,
In an attempt to save our users time at month-end, for recurring journals our previous admin loaded a template to a "Recurring" journal location for each future month. That admin is gone, and now I am trying to do the same, with the following result:
"Error: An error occurred importing the file.
Detail: Location: [JE_Recurring] has not been assigned an Import Format"
We do not use import formats for our journals, so I don't know why it won't let me import the journal. I am an admin in FDM, and I even tried adding that location to myself in security.

I was trying to do it via the workspace import option since that is how our users post journals. I tried using the Activities / Journal option and it worked. Thank you!
Could you explain the difference? Why it will only work using method 2?

Iphoto - changed format of when imported?

Hi
By mistake my Iphoto file was sent to trashcan.
I "put it back again".
After that I could not open it at all.
Reloaded a new version of Iphoto.
Made a copy of all pics (10.000) and copied into the new Iphoto.
Major part of all photos are full copies but a nymber of photos have been changed to face pictures with only the face as a picture.
Anyone whon knows what is wrong??

I created a test project and imported one chapter.
The results of the superscript were the same, that is, no superscript: C3 instead of C3. However, there is an exception to this behavior. If there is a cross reference, the cross reference retains the superscript.

Unrecognized database format error when trying to access addin to Acrobat reader?

I get an "Unrecognized database format" error when trying to access addin to Acrobat reader so I can use Pro to edit a pdf document? What do I do so that teh ACCESS program aI am generating PDF's from uses Pro and not Reader?

Adobe Reader and Acrobat Professional are 2 different products. Reader is for free and limited as to what it can do an support.
Add-ins can only use features supported by Reader.
You need Acrobat to edit PDF forms. Acrobat no longer supports access to SQL databases through Acrobat JavaScript.
If you have an add-in and Acrobat can use it for filling a PDF form from Access, you need to talk to the developer to see if it can work with Reader.

Discontinuing unrecognized format message during import

Is there a way to turn off the message that occurs during import regarding "Unable to import ... unrecognized format"?
When I import multiple files or merge through iPhoto Library Manager, I usually do other things but when the message comes up approximately stating "Cannot import file because of unrecognized format", the process stops.
I would like to turn that message off so that the process will continue whether or not I am there watching it and will complete without my constant watching.
I would appreciate your suggestions and help.

How is this solved? I am getting the same message when trying to copy an album from another Mac. I can select the other Mac's iphoto library and see all photos, but when I try to copy the album to my Mac I get an error message that "the file could not be imported. (The file is an unrecognized format.)
They are all jpg files. All are readable. Both Macs are running iphoto 8.1.2. My Mac is 10.5.8 and the one I'm copying from is 10.6.6. I'm using IPLM 3.6.3.

Thanks for reply.
We have checked driver dim and region dim(s) members. Its looks fine. Even though we are facing import error.
As per basis guidance we have executed program SE38--> UJA_DATA_CHECKER on source system appset. And observed there are several errors showing up related to BPFs & Invalid attribute name ACCTYPE for CO_ENTITY dimension.
If any of you faced similar issue. Please share your input in this regard.

Whenever I try to upload photos into iPhoto, they load but when importing it just stops a picyure or two into it and then just sits there. I can't stop the import so I have to shut off my camera when it is importing and start again. Help?

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Tru importing from your camera to it and to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

Error when import BI content 3.5.3

Hi All
I have error when import BI content 3.5.3 step at Tcode 'SAINT' (file SAPKIBIFIH.car) for mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.0 IDES).
The error occur in step 3/5 after enter SAINT:Passw request.
System shown information "Queue SAPKLTHQ10 has not yet been confirmed".
In step 4/5 sytem shown statue/remarks "The Add-on installation terminated during phase PROLOGUE".
I think about installation THAI font package at Tcode "SMLT" uncompleted.
I run report "RSCPINST" at Tcode "SE38" for editing codepage after that the system shown error message "MDMP is not supported foe SAP Business Information Warehouse. Message no.RIN010" Please see sap note 563975.
Note: When i import Thai font package "SAPKLTHQ10" using Tcode "SMLT" the system shown error message "TL1277" in define schedule job step.

This is a long story that you write, but your problem seems just that you must "Confirm the queue". Is that correct?
Without this step no further Support Packages can be inserted into the system. Confirming the queue is done by one of the buttons in the SPAM transaction. Just put the mouse on the buttons and read the quick help to differentiate between the buttons.
I have never had a problem like this but I think it can happen if, together with the new BI version you also include one or more support packs. This happens automatically if these packages are available, so you may not even have noticed it.

Error when importing CO Hierarchies from R/3 DEV to R/3 QAS

I am getting the following error when importing Cost center and cost element hierarchies from R/3 DEV to R/3 QAS...
Object OSOA 0COSTCENTER_0101_HIER has not yet been imported successfully
Object OSOA 0COSTELMNT_0102_HIER has not yet been imported successfully
Ended with Return code ===8...
But The two hierarchies were available in R/3 QAS and also i am able to utilise..
My doubt is if i transport these hierarchies from R/3 QAS to R/3 Production any major issues...
Now i want to test a data in BW DEV from R/3 Production data...
So, I am planning to transport These hierarchies from R/3 QAS to R/3 PROD...
Here we do not have BW QAS...So, getting data from R/3Production to BW DEV and testing...
After testing Directly use in BW Production...
So, Please suggest me why when importing these hierarchies errors occuring???

"Bad image format" error when displaying an image on Nokia 6600

I get a "bad image format" error when I try and display an image on a Nokia 6600 cellphone. The image displays correctly when I run it on the J2ME 2.1 Emulator, but gives an error on the phone. Plz help!!

Hi, i think that the problem is around the rollback segments.The solution is bring other rollback segments ONLINE state, if not exist others rollbackup,then you need create the other rollback segments and bring online state.

"error when importing object" when selecting variant

Hello,
we recently migrated from 4.6 to 4.7.
For some programs, when selecting a variant, this gives a runtime error, like
Error when importing object "C131A2"
What is the cause of this? Because the values in the variant aren't valid anymore?
How can this be solved?

Error when importing from Excel in SAP

Hello experts,
My gets error when importing price list using the import form Xl menu :
(-1200) DBMCconnBase::EndTransaction SQLEndTran sqlState 08S01, nativeErr: 0, errText:[Microsoft][SQL Native Client] Communication link failure
This happens only when connected with SAP Client, it never happens when connected in terminal server directly on SAP server.
Server 2003, MSSQL 2005 SP2
SAP 2007 Sp01 PL08 HF01
This has always been working before, it has stopped working when he changed the motherboard 3 weeks ago. Nothing else have changed.
Any idea where to look at?

Thanks for your answer. that would have probaly fix the issue
my techs fixed the issue by doing the 2 following thinks, i don't know if only one of them would have fix it.
1. in the boot.ini file there was a /3G in the end, restricting the memory to 1G for the OS. The tech deleted it.
2. in management studio, the technician changed the memory reserved for sql from 9/12 to 14/16Gb
there was probably not enough RAM available for the import.
since that change it works well.

I have installed BOXI 3.1 SP3, Integration kit SP2, BW/BI 7.0 and ECC 6.0 on Windows 2008/64bit.
My goal is to import the roles into CMS from SAP BW/BI but getting the follwoing errors:

Install the 32bit version of the Java connector. BOBJ is 32bit so even on 64bit Windows you need the 32bit version of the Java Connector.
