Iphoto wont show all photos of an album on top?

Absolutely new to mac, so bear with me, still learning basics of keyboard and mouse!!
When i open iphoto and select an album (all imported from pc via network or thru usb drive, none thru camera) only first photo shows and the film strip does not show on top. So, when want to select photos for, say, slide show or book etc, can not do it. On edit screen, all show on top as a film strip, but can not transfer them to slide show, or book etc. What to do?
Thanks in anticipation.
MACBOOK Mac OS X (10.4.9)

The general rule of thumb is that where you would use Control on a PC, you use Command (the Apple key) on a Mac. To select discontinuous items use Command-click. To select a continuous range of items you can Shift-click on the endpoints, and all items included will become selected.
To better become acquainted with your Mac and OS 10.4, try the Mac 101 courses. Or follow the link on that page to the Switch 101 course designed for users moving from PC to Mac. There is a lot of good information there.

  • During import Aperature wont show all photos on memory card.

During import Aperature wont show all photos on memory card. Typically loads the previews of the first 15 photos only showing "loading assets" and spinning wheel. Running Aperature 3.2.3 on MBP 2.16 core duo 2gb ram importing from a SD card reader contining approx 300 nikon d3100 NEF files. Created a new user account and new library with same results.

Could be the card.  Transfer the files to your HD using Finder, and then import into Aperture.  All OK?
Then reformat your card in your camera, and see if the problem recurs.  Also: does it happen with other cards?  Does it happen with the card in the camera (instead of in your card reader)?

  • IPhoto '08 shows all photos, but can't locate images in Finder

I just bought a MacBook and did an "Import to Library" from my backup external drive. All photos now appear in iPhoto including some that I just imported last night from my camera. The only problem is, I can't find the folder that actually contains all of the pictures. When I click on "Pictures" in my home folder then the iPhoto icon, iPhoto opens. Where is the folder with the actual images?

    dave-m:
The photos are in the iPhoto LIbrary package in the Pictures file. SeeTD's treatis on file access. It describes three ways to access the image files.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • IPhoto not showing all photos

I have iPhoto '11 v 9.4.3.  Some time ago I noticed that certain events in the event view were showing up with zero photos in the event, with a gray palm tree sunset as the key photo of that event.  When I go to import pictures from my camera, iPhoto reports that photos in the camera are duplicates of photos already imported, but it shows a blank for the imported photo.  Since iPhoto seems to know they are there, I don't re-import. When I go to the Finder and look for the "missing" photos, they are there in the iPhoto Library (under Masters).  So, my question is, why does iPhoto know they are there but can't show them?  And how do I fix it?  And BTW, they have not been made hidden in iPhoto.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Iphoto wont show my photos

When I try to upload photos to my blog or on facebook, it just says Loading iPhoto images.... on the upload window and just stays that way.  I have never had problems before until I was in iPhoto and tried to close it and a small window came up saying 'iPhoto is saving critical information for your photo library but It dosn't go away, just stays there until I click 'later'. Please help. (I added screenshots to help)
I have a Mackbook - Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and iPhoto is version 8.1.2

It won't work that way as you have discovered.
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
Launch iTunes then select the iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window.
Now select Photos from the manu.
Importing photos can be done using iPhoto but not PhotoBooth.

Do the photos display correctly in the media browser when the mail library ("iPhoto") heading is selected? If so, you could simply add the photos from the library rather than the specific album. Alternately, if you have to select your photos from an "album," you could try reselecting the photos in the main library in the iPhoto application and create a different album to see if all photos then show up in the secondary album in the iMovie media browser.
If the "missing" photos do not show up under the main "iPhoto" heading in the iMovie media browser and do not show up in the main library in the iPhoto application, then the files may be corrupted. In this case, simply re-import the original files if possible. You could also try to force a rebuilding of the thumbnail cache, but this is usually done automatically when the application itself detects inefficiencies in thumbnail access or when the application is updated. In any case, there does not appear to be a manual menu option to do this arbitrarily when the user so desires. I suppose you could try to locate and delete the cache manually and hope this forces an automatic rebuild the next time the iPhoto application is opened but I am personally not that familiar with the package structure to advise such action at this time. You might check the iPhoto forum and see if anyone can help you further in this area of endeavor.

  • In iPhoto 9.5.1 is there a way to redate all photos in an album?

In iPhoto 9.5.1 is there a way to re-date all photos in an album?

Select the photos and use the adjust tiem/date command for photos from a digital camera - use the batch change time/date command for scanned photos or other photos without EXIF data

  • What does one do when iPhoto version 7.1.5 only opens one event without showing all photos?

What does one do when iPhoto version 7.1.5 only opens one event without showing all photos or any other events?

Depends -what other clues? What recently changed? Do you have a good current backup?  best guess is to Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - and repair the database - if that does not resolve things rebuild your iPhoto library database

  • When i go into finder   click on pictures why dose it not show all photos just lets me open iphoto

when i go into finder   click on pictures why dose it not show all photos just lets me open iphoto

Ralph9430 offers a good suggestion.  But you may need to do this before taking his advice:
Check in iPhoto's Preferences (which you can open from the iPhoto menu).  Look in General, and make sure "Connecting Camera Opens" is set to "Image Capture").
If it is set to "iPhoto", you won't be able to get to Image Capture easily.

  • Photo Sharing not showing all photos via Apple TV 3rd Gen

    Hi
Have Apple TV, 3rd gen, latest update of the software. Running 10.8.5 on a mid 2009 MacBookPro. When I select a few smart albums from iPhoto 09 (v. 8.1.2) and then select those albums to share/stream to my Apple TV via iTunes (11.1.3) only a few of the photos show up; in the 3 albums I have selected to share/stream there are in excess of 500 photos. However, when I have my photos selected as the slideshow/screensaver in my Apple TV, only a few photos show up, less than 100, and then the slide show starts to repeat itself.
Any ideas why it's not showing every photo in the albums I have selected to stream/share?
    Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
    David

Are you mixing slideshows and screen savers up, screen savers won't show all the photos in a large collection.

  • How do I move all photos in an album to camera roll?

I want to move all photos in an album to themCamera Roll.  But after hitting the share icon and selecting Camera Roll, the "All" option is grayed and not selectable.  Am I missing something?

I should also be clear that I am using the iPhoto app on an iPad.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Time Machine backup of external iPhoto library shows recent photos only as outline, no image. Any suggestions?

The Time Machine backup of my external iPhoto library shows all pictures 'now' but previous backups show the most recent pictures only as box outlines, some with a curled corner. How can I see all pictures to make sure TM has them? And if I would need to restore photos from TM can I do this one picture at a time or only the whole library? If I upgrade to iPhoto 11, a more recent OS, or both, do the answers to any of these questions change?
    Many thanks!

You can not use the iPhoto library while it is a TM backup - you must restore it to use it - and you must restore it all

  • Wont show all my picture (folder) Files

When I try to sync pics on to my phone, it wont show all of the folders I have in my pictures. It wont let me import the folder either?

The best way to do this with manually created folders on your hard drive used for storing photos is to have a parent folder which contains all the folders that include photos you want transferred to your iPhone.
Do not place a folder that contains photos within another folder that contains photos.
Each folder that contains photos located in the parent folder should contain photos only.
Select the parent folder to be synced with your iPhone and all folders within that contain photos only will be transferred to your iPhone.

  • How to add all photos in one Album

    Hi,
I bought iMovie yesterday and I have albums in photos application. I want to add all photos in one album to iMovie.
    Thanks
    Best Regards

They can only be added one at a time, a bit annoying but that's the way.
    Add photos
With your project open, scroll the project timeline so that the playhead (the red vertical line) appears over the location where you want to add the photo; you can move the photo later if you want.
If the playhead is resting over a video clip, the photo is added before or after the end of the clip closest to the playhead.
Tap the Media Library button , and then tap the Photos button at the bottom of the screen.
Tap Camera Roll, Photo Library, or an album, and then tap the photo you want to add.
To preview a photo before adding it, tap and hold the photo in the Photo browser until it appears in the pop-up viewer.
The added photo appears for a duration of 3 to 6 seconds, depending on the length of the transitions that appear before and after the photo, but you canchange this duration.
A Ken Burns effect is also applied to the image, which means the camera appears to sweep across and zoom in on the photo. You can adjust this effect. Go to Edit a photo to learn how.
You can ask Apple to fix this in the next update:
