Ipod Classic 120g - How to make it work again? Was formatted by windows.

My ipod classic shows as "removable device" in the finder, but does not appear on itunes. The iPod was formatted as a mobile device on windows. How to make it work again?

Try putting your iPod classic into Disk Mode and then use iTunes to restore it. Then it should show up within iTunes to sync media across to it.

My final cut pro 6, is missing some files. because of mac keeper. I think its atom strand.HD. what to do, and how to make it work again?????

I got mac keeper to clean up some files, and now I cant open Final cut pro 6. because of missing files. it is loading, at Atom strand.HD file, before it says that the program suddenly shutted down. the atom strand.HD is a file, that is connected to motion. if I put motion in the garbage can, then final cut works, but if I take motion out of the garbage can again, then it doesn`t. arrrrr. shall I re install final cut or motion. or is there a better way to make it work, again????? !!!!

Well, best bet would be to reinstall FCP. I'd use the FCS REMOVER from digitalrebellion.com (free) to uninstall the app first, then reinstall from the DVD.

After the download of the new version of numbers the cells with formulars are not updated automatically after changing values in cells in the formular. In the previous version this was done automatically. How to make it work again?

I'm creating a heater system and i've used plant simulator.vi for the lag and dead time. However after inserting the plant simulator block into my VI, my PV no longer gets to my SP. But when i remove that block its seems fine again. Whats the problem?

Hi Wormwood,
1. The plant simulator is suppossed to mimic the system that needs to be controlled. So technically, you should be plotting the Manipulated Variable (output of the PID and input/control for the plant) versus the Process Variable. The manipulated variable tries to bring the Process Variable to the Set Point.
2. The PID needs to be able to output control action that is both positive and negative. So, the output range of the PID should be set to (-100, 100), for example. In your VI, it was set to (0, 100), which means that the PID could never output any negative control.
3. You are performing some numeric operations on your Process Variable in the lower part of the while loop. Although, these affect the PV, you donot need to plot them in the graph.
I made some changes in your VI, some calculation is gone but its useful to see how the Manipulated Variable can actually bring the Process Variable to the SetPoint.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.
There's more to try but let's go a bit at a time.

If your media is in iTunes restore the iPod, but the iPod is/was the only location currently hosting some of your media then the first task is to try to extract it. See the user tip Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for some recovery tools. Most third party tools will probably require the device to have a functioning library however the techniques outlined in the iLounge Article referenced at the end should work as long as the device still shows up in Windows Explorer or Finder.

Might be worth tearing down the whole iTunes install and starting over...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:

C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Thanks, for info, iPod Classic is a slower machine compared the Nano, unfortunately, if you read these discussions, majority of the freezes involved iTunes 10. Although if might be just slow and some impatient user just disconnect the iPod ands cause more problems. ( Yes I also did that but safely by doing a iPod Hard Reset, before disconnecting).

Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your iPod to the PC, using a high speed USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC, do not use any USB Hub.
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.

Sounds like you are just hearing the normal sounds that a hard drive makes. Because there is a drive in the Classic iPod, there is some lag and that is normal.

If you use an HDMI cable, the audiostream will be integrated, so there will be sound when using an HDMI cable!
Not necessarily. That only works as stated if you have one of the most recent MBP's that has a built-in HDMI port.
If the MBP only has a Thunderbolt or miniDisplayPort, you need an appropriate adapter cable and even if you use an HDMI adapter or cable to connect to your HDTV there is no guarantee it will carry audio. You have to determine if your specific MBP model supports audio out through its miniDisplayPort or Thunderbolt output, and whether the adapter does likewise.

When the music is all in the same library, sync the Touch.
You will still need to authorize your computer to play purchased music. For that, use the Apple ID that was used to purchase it.
