Ipod Classic 7th generation will not sync with all movies in Itunes

I just bought an Ipod classic today, due to my iphone 5 not able to connect to my car entertainment system and car stereo.  Needing a 30 pin to connect to it.  So I bought it, connected it to my mac computer, and not all the movie files will sync to it.  I get this message:
For some reason, some of my movies will transfer to the ipod classic, and some will not.  They are all m4v files.  Does anyone have a suggestion?

The files that won't copy probably have too high a data rate. From http://www.apple.com/ipodclassic/specs.html

  • My iPod classic 7th Gen  will not sync with my new computer. itunes is installed and updated.

    fellow iPod classic owners,
the problem is a failure to sync with the new computer. the conditions are as follows: the new computer is a pc. it has the latest iTunes software installed. the iPod is installed properly. i'm fully recognized by my iTunes account. there is nothing lacking other than my iPod's refusal to sync with my new computer. what have i left undone? i could be suffering from a duh, but i'm not the only one. nothing in the apple world is as difficult as this one is, at least on the surface. if it were that simple an issue, no one would be having any problems with it. any more information needed can be provided by request. by the way, the computer being used has been authorized. that is a non-issue.
                                                                                                                 your help is appreciated,
                                                                                                                     hardphil.

I believe the IPOD (Classic) uses USB 2.0,  and my new laptop uses USB 3.0.  I think they are not compatable because of this.  If you find a solution to this please let me know.
    Thanks,

  • IPod Classic 5th generation will not sync with new MacBook

I have had a 5th generation iPod classic that I have been super happy with.  I have used it with several PC laptops.  Because I have gone through so many PC's, I decdied this year to get a new MacBook Pro.  Since my old PC was dying it took forever to get all my music and videos transferred to my new MacBook. Anyhow, I have had no luck syncing my iPod with my new MacBook.  I have read several other posts (but mostly older like 2007-2010) that others have had similar problems.  Here is a quick list of what I have done/what has happened:
Initially, I would get one of two messages:
'The ipod '(My Name) ipod' cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-124)'
    - 'The ipod '(My Name) ipod' cannot be synced. The required folder cannot be found.'
Two times it told me I needed to use a USB 2.0 port (but I have a new MacBook and was using the newer 3.0 port).  I haven't seen that message since.
It actually "transferred" over 4500 of my 7000 items (I have a ton of music that I use for my job) and then just stopped. When it was disconnected only about 200 songs were actually on my iPod.
    I've restored it several times.
Seems to "freeze" on random songs or videos and will not continue to sync, even theough the iPod says it's syncing.  Then iTunes freezes.  I have to "force quit." Sometimes (but not all the time) if I try to re-open iTunes, I get a message that says iTunes is locked.
I thought maybe my cable was bad (it was the original that came with the iPod).  I actually spent $20 and got a new one.  No luck.
With the new cord iTunes now gets frozen on the 3rd or 4th song it is trying to transfer. Once I disconnect the iPod (I have to disconnect with ejecting because iTunes is frozen and it also freezes up Finder to eject) my iPod makes an awful click sound and I have to start it by toggling and then holding the play/pause button.
I have tried enabling disk, manually controlling music, etc. but nothing helps.
I am sick about it because I rely on my iPod a lot for my job-- and I can't afford a new one since I just bought a MacBook.  I think it has something to do with the fact that I got this new MacBook.  My old PC was getting so sensitive that I didn't download the latest version of iTunes (but I still had the second latest version).
    Any help is appreciated.

Although you used the new USB 3.0 port, the actual connection speed is still USB2.0, as the iPod Dock connector, does not have the 10 times faster USB3.0 signal pins, the connection speed is still 480Mbits/s
I assumed that you have tried the other USB 2.0 port to no success..
Can you do the iPod Disk diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting.

  • My Ipod nano 7th generation will not sync.

My Ipod nano 7th generation will not sync, I have updated itunes very recently. Everytime I try to sync anything, playlists, music, podcasts, or even photos from my computer, It does not sync. However before It syncs it tells me that I need to authorize my computer so that I can play purchased songs, so I log in with my apple ID and it says that the computer is now authorized but then when I press the sync button again the same message pops up over and over. Can anybody fix this?

    Hello stowie10,
I would make sure that music is checked to sync, or any other data at that. Check out the following article to get the squared way with this setup.

  • IPod touch 4th generation will not sync with iTunes, but shows up in Windows 7 64bit(Acer Aspire laptop)

Hello all, I am writing this message in the hope that somebody can help me to solve my issue with my iPod touch fourth generation. It has been unable to sync with iTunes, but shows up in windows as the iPod touch. I also had this problem with my older iPods as well (Ipod nano 4th Gen, iPod touch 2nd gen(Batteries done for that one)) I can sync music with iCloud, but I have a bunch of songs that are not in the store, and I sincerely want to add those, alot.
I've checked the "iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes" with the link here: (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363), and followed that process, but to no avail, it does not solve the problem. I've tried to reset the entire ipod by making it enter DFU mode and then rebooting the entire iPod (shows up in iTunes in temporary mode) but once restored, does not appear in iTunes, but still in Windows detected still as a iPod, looks like the iPod and everything. I also have the most uup-to-date iTunes installed (10.5 I believe, just got it today)
This is extremely frustrating because that is why I purchased the iPod (and for the games and apps, those are great too). The iPod was also purchased three days ago, and the setup still didn't detect it.  I am not mad at anybody here or the Apple company itself, but I have not found any help online with the browsing option (for support of course).
Please, I would absolutely love the help, i'd be eternally grateful for it.
    -Tyler

Never mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

  • My brand new iPod Touch 4th generation will not sync with iTunes on my Windows Vista computer!  Please help!

I have tried every trick in the book and read every thread on why my version of Windows Vista will not allow me to get at the iTunes Store.  I cannot even get this new iPod Touch to sync with iTunes.
I've rebooted, soft restart, hard restart, removed iTunes and re-installed iTunes.  Nada...nothing!
Does anyone else have the same issue and can they offer me a solution?

it is and all ready mut wont work tried moving but still dosn't work

Well, shut my mouth!  There was a similar question over to the right about a 6th generation nano repeating over and over again -- I read the answer to that one, followed the instructions, and holy crap, it's back to normal.
Is there a name for this when you end up replying to your own aggravating question?  That's what I did.  Now I can go out and listen.  It's only 91 degrees.  Heaven. Thanks, Apple.

  • My ipod classic 80 gb will not sync contacts form Outlook in windows 7.  I have tried many suggestions but none work.

My ipod classic 80 gb will not sync with contacts in outlook in windows 7. It never has synced all contacts but for a while it would sync "All Contacts" if I created a distribution group in Contacts for that purpose.  Now it will not even do that. What can i do ?

  • New ipod suffle 4th gen will not sync with cd import

my new ipod suffle 4th gen will not sync with cd import, through itunes, other computer has no itunes

I'm not sure how the "other computer" is relevant, but on the computer with iTunes, you probably need to update the iPod's settings for automatic syncing, or load the new songs from CD manually.
In iTunes, if the sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  The shuffle appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES, when connected.  Select it there.  The shuffle's Summary screen is shown to the right.  There is a checkbox for Manually manage music there.  Is that setting currently checked or not checked?
If it is checked, your iPod is set to add and remove songs manually.  It does not use automatic syncing to update content.  This is how to manually add and remove songs from an iPod.
To add songs manually...  Show a song list in iTunes.  For example, select Music under LIBRARY in the sidebar, to show your main music library list.  Drag a song from the song list to the iPod in the sidebar.  You can do this with more than one song selected, such as the songs from that "CD import."  Alternately, right-click on the selection and choose the command Add to Playlist -> [name of your iPod].
To remove songs manually...  Click on the small triangle to the left of the iPod's name (in the sidebar) to drop down its content list, indented below the iPod.  Click on Music there.  The list of songs on the iPod is shown to the right.  Select the song you want to remove and press Delete on the keyboard.  You can do this with more than one song selected.
NOTE:  If Manually manage music is currently not checked, your iPod is set to use automatic syncing.  Please post back for info on setting up or updating the iPod's automatic sync settings.  When automatic syncing is enabled, you make iTunes responsible for keeping your iPod "in sync" with your iTunes library.
