IPod doesn't work after updating...??

Hi everyone,
Anyone who can help me with this - please do! It would be much appreciated!
I run WinXP Pro on my Asus M6A laptop. Recently, I started iTunes and it said there was an update available. I updated iTunes. When I restarted iTunes it told me there was an update available for my iPod. I accepted that and let my iPod get updated.
Now, it's screwed.
Essentially, it spends almost all of its time frozen, not responding to any inputs on the click wheel or on any of the other buttons - not even the hold button. What is displayed on screen just remains, frozen there.
The one exception is the reset - I can reset it. Then, until I plug it into the computer, it appears to function. When I plug it in it will appear in the updated version of iTunes fine, but will stop responding (although iTunes appears to copy across updated data, e.g. if I change the title of a song?).
I tried the 5R's. None of them worked. When I tried restoring it it just crashed about two bars into the process, bringing my entire laptop down with it.
I tried using the old Apple iPod updater, but this exits straight away with an "Invalid iPod service version" error message.
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this please let me know! I've tried everything I can think of, and basically none of it has worked. Thanks!

Mine is exactly the same, worked for almost 9months then started giving me trouble! I am tired of resetting it, restoring it to factory setting and formatting it! My hold button is also broken, my fast forward button is not clicking anymore, suspect its because i use it alot but thats no excuse for apple. Anyone know what there return policies are if u still have a warrenty or know how to fix the proubles so many of us are having with our 5th gen ipods?? HELP PLEASE!!!

I've just updated my ipod nano's software and it stopped working. The itunes works alright, it updates the songs and everything but the ipod itself has no image whatsoever! How can I solve this?

If you can get it to come up to an apple logo, but no further. Try putting it into disk mode. Then restore the ipod.

If you cannot get a response from the ipod and it does not charge or respond to the computer, then the ipod needs to be serviced. you can set the ipod up for service via the ipod service request form on the apple website.

HELP! iPod no longer works after update

I've been using my 20gb clickwheel ipod without incident for a year now, my last update had been iTunes 5 and hadn't updated my iPod recently either (why bother..it worked fine?).
I wanted to purchase music from the iTunes music store, but it wouldn't let me unless I upgraded to iTunes 6 and updated my iPod. OK - so I did that- upgraded iTunes to 6.0.1 and updated tghe iPod using the latest updated dated 2005-10-12. Then the horror begins.
On the first attempted synch post update - my iPod screen turned into a folder/exclamation point icon and stopped working. I tried resetting by holding down the center button and menu..it restarted and went back to the same folder/exclamation point icon. No luck.
I've tried restoring it repeatedly and then synching my library back to the now clean and restored iPod and it stops synching at different points and crashes (after 31 songs - crash iTunes - iPod freezes on the "Do not disconnect" screen - strange clicking noise - restore - try again - 58 songs...same... restore ..again...45 songs.. you get the picture).
It worked fine BEFORE the update except I couldn't purchase music. There has been NO change except installing the updates (it hasn't been jostled, dropped or anything). What can I do? The update killed my iPod?!!!! I am at my wits end!!!!!!

OK..I've tried many things and my iPod is still hosed after updating. I upgraded my Mac to Tiger. I was told that the there might be some issues with synching using firewire with the new update - so I bought a USB cable and tried synching with that.
I have the same issue as before. I can restore the iPod, but when I start synching my music from Itunes back to the blank, restored iPod - it synches up anywhere from 20-200 songs and then freezes (spinning beach ball on one song halfway synched for an hour - then force quit iTunes - and start all over again: restore, synch, crash).
You know, I got burned by the 1st generation 5gb iPod battery issue, then the headphone jack stopped working on my 2nd generation, now my monochrome clickwheel iPod freaks out after Apple forces me to update so I can get my paid music back (it removed, yes, REMOVED my purchased songs because I was still using an older version of iTunes - when I updated to 6 I got them back - how Microsoft is THAT?).
I am really losing my faith in Apple's ability to make a quality product.I am despondent. If anyone has any advice - I would be most grateful...

IPod doesn't work after mac connection

i don't know why my mini ipod doesn't work anymore (it doesn't read the songs!) after i connected it with an imac g3. i started my ipod with a pc... and transfered a program for mac with it... then i connected it with the mac and now it doesn't read the mp3... suggestions?

Try to do a Reset and a Restore, bear in mind please make sure that you have all the music with your iTunes on your computer, as doing a Restore will erase all the data in your iPod

Have you restarted the device and verified that the device is still connected to Wi-Fi? Are you able to browse the internet? If not, try this and let us know the results including any error messages.

Ipod doesn't work after firmware update

I have an old ipod and I tried to update the firmware. After the update It did'n work. ON the Ipod screen it appear like a plug indicating to charge it, but I charged it several times and the result is the same.
Now i'm trying to recover it again but my computer doesn't recognize it.
¿Is there anything I can do?

Also start with the basics from Apple.
1. *Restart iPod touch:* Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPod touch. To turn iPod touch back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If you can’t turn off iPod touch or if the problem continues, you may need to reset iPod touch. A reset should be done only if turning iPod touch off and on doesn’t resolve the problem.
2. *Reset iPod touch:* Press and hold both the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Touch id doesn't work after update ios 7.1 APPLE PLEASE HELP!!!

Touch id scanner dead after update 7.1. Tried remove fingerprints but cannot add new fingerprint because the touch id scanner DEAD. Tried rebooting the device and touch id scanner still doesn't work. For somehow the scanner works when the iphone is charging even it works slower than before the ios 7.1 update. APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
FYI : I am not going to try backup and restore my 5s, for the last time i bought this 5s i already tried for 2DAYS and cannot restore my old iphone 5 data to my new 5s!! I give up and lost all my DATA! Cannot find any answer from apple support. REALLY DISSAPOINTED WITH APPLE!

Home sharing doesn't work after updating itunes to 10.6.40

Just update my itunes to 10.6.40 and ipad1/iphone4 to 5.1.
The home sharing doesn't appear after enable it and both remote app (ipad and iphone) don't work!
Now, my ipad doesn't sync thru wifi and my iphone 4 sync thru wifi even when not charging.

Lightroom doesn't work after update to CC 2014

After last update to CC 2014, Lightroom doesn't work for me. I use Windows 8.1

kmvereb - Don't accuse me of lying, OK? It works fine with penderra's instruction.
1. Close Adobe Creative Cloud completely.
2. Empty the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
3. Launch Lightroom - you should be asked to Sign in to Adobe CC.

Auto-lock doesn't work after updating iOS 6.

I'm using iphone 4s. After updating iOS 6, the auto-lock function doesn't work anymore. I left it for 10 minutes and when i came back, the screen was still on although the auto-lock time is 2 minutes. I tested many times, tried to reboot but it didnt help. But the screen auto-lock is still working. Does anyone have problem like me and know how to fix it ?

"Just wanted to add to my previous post. This widget uses images “.png” files so the font issue has not affected it’s performance. After some digging I found WebKit2 was bundled with the latest Safari update (5.1 and 5.0.6). WebKit2 uses a whole bunch of new APIs rendering some old ones obsolete. My guess is as good as yours, but most likely the SudokuC controller inside the widget is referring to one of those obsolete APIs."
Does anyone know what this means, and can explain it to someone, like myself, who is not a programmer?
Also, does it seem like a relevant solution and/or cause of the problem?

YouYube doesn't work after updating to 2.2

Does anybody know how to fix this? After I updated my iPhone 3G to 2.2 YouTube search started showing "Cannot connect to YouTube" error.
I have Finnish language set. When I change the phone language to English it works! But when I change it back to Finnish, it shows the error message again (but now in Finnish "YouTube ei ole käytettävissä.")
The phone is NOT jailbreaked!

Define "doesn't work"? That's an extremely vague explanation which makes offering suggestions difficult.

hi, after recent update with 1526, email stopped connecting to server with error saying "connect to wifi and try again " (and surely wifi is on at that moment and browser does work and I'm writing this message on PlayBook right now, but email still doesn't work ) neither my gmail account work nor my yandex (russian free email service) one. my pin 502e8815 can you fix this issue? or maybe you can tell me how to downgrade to previous os version?
