IPod keeps freezing and skipping.

I've restored it, i've reset it. nothing is helping. it freezes many times a day. so i keep reseting it and a few minutes later it freezes again. i've restored it multiple times but it keeps freezing anyway. I'm still under warranty until christmas but can i still get it replaced since it's a 30 gb? they have the iPod classic now so i don't know if i can get it replaced.

Okay i guess not?

  • Why does my ipod keep freezing and skipping songs?

I have the 80GB Ipod Classic, and for some reason it keeps skipping songs, for instance, whenever I go to look under a certain artist or a playlist of even just under "songs" I'll pick one and then it will skip one or two or ten, and there are some songs it just doesn't allow me to listen to anymore. Only on my ipod though, not on itunes. It also keeps freezing and will sometimes just stop in the middle of a song and skip to a new one. I've tried resetting it, and leaving it alone for a few days and letting it charge and leaving it off. Nothing seems to work.
    What can I do?

I had this problem with my old 20GB classic ipod, it all started when I began using my ipod for my running trainings, every day it used to get worse freezing every 10 minutos or so, then I got ****** and bought a new 80GB classic Ipod, I have it for about 3 weeks now and guess what? It started freezing or skiping songs also. I did a test where I synced the same library on my both ipod and the songs being skipped on my new one wasnt being skipped on the old one, so its a problem with the song, then I though it could be any damage in the ipod HD but my new ipod has no reason to be damaged, the only impact that it might have recived is from my running trainings, but the impacts are really weak. Other test I did was trying to remove the song being skiped from the ipod, everytime I did that my ipod couldnt be ejcted, it kept showing me the following message "The ipod canot be ejcted because it contains files that are used by another aplication." I had to unplug my ipod without ejecting it.

  • 60gb ipod photo keeps freezing and skipping through songs

I've had my 60gb ipod photo for almost a year and it keeps freezing and skipping through songs and sometimes it won't respond to a reset. I have to let the battery run down in order to use it again. I have restored it several times and it seems to keep happenning at least once a week.I have the latest software for it. • New iPod keeps freezing and restarting.

I just bought a 60GB white g5 iPod and loaded a bunch of music onto it. Whenever I try to play a song it goes back to the apple screen and restarts. If it actually plays a song it freezes and restarts when it needs to go to the next song, if it doesn't do that it will play about three seconds of a song and go to the next one and freeze and restart pretty soon after.
A relative of mine has another new 60GB iPod and we tried loading music on it from my computer and it works just fine so it's obviously the iPod and not my files or anything. I tried doing a complete restore on the iPod and then putting music back on it but it still has the same problem.
Is anyone else having a problem like this? Is there anything I can do, or should I just either contact Apple about getting it fixed/replaced or return it to the store?

did you reset your ipod with the new update, it usually solves that problem, a lot of people were having problems under the factory settings

  • My sing keeps freezing and skipping to totally seperate song! why?

i bought a song recently and it stops in the middle and it either goes to the next song or two songs ahead. It works on my siblings ipod's and we use the same computer is there a reason for this and how do i fix it?

  • 120gb ipod keeps resetting and skipping tracks

I just recently bought a brand new 120gb ipod adn all of the sudden it is skipping down tracks in the middle of a song and it also resets on its own...i will be searching through my artist list and it will all the sudden reset and go back to the apple logo then it is fine for a while until it does ti again...i have tried the five r's and am feeling angry that this keeps happening...if anyone has any suggestions or an answer for that matter it would be gratly appreciated..

I just bought a new macbook pro and got the 120gb ipod with it for $20 after the rebate. i downloaded all my songs onto the new computer and then synced them with the new ipod. the songs would play all the way through but the ipod started skipping in the middle of the song to go to the next song. so it would play though a whole bunch of songs, then halfway through one, it would skip to the next. at first i thought it was a corrupt song so i pressed the previous button to see if the song would play all the way though and the song wound up playing completely and then move onto the next song. it began to do it more frequently so i brought it to the apple store and they swapped it for a new one. i just synced the ipod again and its skipping again. I took my old 30gb ipod and synced it to the same exact itunes library so both ipods mirrored each other and the 120gb still skips but the 30gb doesnt. so i have no idea what is going on with the 120gb ipod but i want to find a solution to this problem before my warranty runs out. can anyone please help?

  • My iPod keeps freezing and jumping to next songs.

    Heres my dilema.
Whenever i play a song and after awhile the soing stops and goes to the next song and whenever I try to go back to it the iPod freezes.
Should I do the 24 hour battery drain or restore my iPod using the Updater. (have the newest version)
    Can anybody help please?????

this is what happened to my ipod, it eventually stopped working altogether and im currently trying to find a way to resolve the problem. read my topic - 'out of warranty sad ipod- what can i do?;-(' is your ipod still in warranty, because if it does end up like mine apple will fix it for you. in the mean time try resetting it, then if this doesn't help then try restoring it- this will erase all your data on the ipod so back it up first. i hope this helps pranesh,
