IPOD Mini front panel buttons not functioning

First of all, thanks for reading my message.
I have this wierd problem. My front panel buttons namely Menu, forward, rewind, play/pause and wheel donot work.
The thing that is wierd is that my ipod is still functional using the remote. Even when I am playing MP3s using remote, those regular buttons dont function. They look like they are dead, no response what so ever.
Since the remote has limited buttons I want my front panel buttons to work. Any inputs on this regard is appretiated.

I can charge my IPOD.
sync it to itunes.
Hold works.
ear phone jack works.
In all my IPOD is in a state similar to what you have when you switch to "HOLD". Irespective of whether I swith the hold button or not.

Hi everyone,
I would like to ask something regarding the Front Operation Buttons on my Protege M500 laptop. They are the 6 buttons above the keyboard which can lead me to the Internet Explorer, CD/DVD, Windows Media Player Play/Stop/Previous/Next.
They have been functioning well but have recently stopped to function all of a sudden.
And also, my volume wheel dial at the side of the laptop still works but does not show an indication of the volume adjusted on the screen anymore (it does previously). And this problem happened i think at the same time as the front operation buttons one.
I've already checked the 'Toshiba Control Buttons' under 'Toshiba Assist' and all the shortcuts have been specified there.
Can someone please let me know what can be done?

What is visa os? I'm currently using Windows XP Home edition. Does it matter? And my part number for the model is Portege M500 PPM50L-06V005, so i'm unsure if i should choose the series that say M500 (PPM51A/ PPM50A). And also, for the drivers saying Toshiba Value Added Package (Portege M500-Tecra M6(2button model).exe), are they only meant for laptops with the 2-button type of operation buttons because i have the 6 buttons type. Oh, and do i need to uninstall anything before reinstalling the VAP? Thanks!

Automatic Pause (through program) and Manual Resume through front panel Button

Hi, I am trying to implement a system which measures voltage and current for a varying source voltage at varying temperature. The program acquires 5 pairs of voltage and current data. The issue here is that the source voltage is varied by manually changing the value of the variable resistor. What I would like to do is somehow pause the program automatically once the loop (for acquiring 5 V and I data pairs) has completed. Then, after the user manually changes the value of the variable resistor (and enters the new value through a front panel indicator), the user should be able to resume the program through a front panel button like in this example: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-10792
Is it possible to implement this in LabView?
In summary: I would like to implement a system in which the program would pause automatically after a condition has been fulfilled, and can be resumed through a front panel button.

Hi all! I've overhauled my program after learning how to create state machines in LabVIEW. I think I've managed to make it able to pause program execution by staying in the Initialize state if Pause After Measurement is set to True, only resuming measurement once the user has pressed the front panel button to Acquire Data. Attached is the code for the program.

when the screen saver turns off my front panel does not refresh. If I use the show desktop button sometimes I can not maximize my vi by just clicking on it from the start bar.

I utilize both a screen saver and the show desktop feature but have never seen this problem in the past. You might play around with your screen saver settings to see if they have any affect. You might also try another computer just to make sure something larger scale isn't going on. Also, testing with other programs to make sure it isn't a general OS issue is always a good idea. Other possibilities include changing your Video Driver settings, updating your video driver, and uninstalling - reinstalling.

I just bought an iPod mini but I am not sure if my battery is working properly. When I have fully charged the iPod mini and disconnected from my iBook, the battery status doesn't show full charge. Is something wrong with my battery?

Have you tried the standard fixes:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store is in order.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Front panel sound not working

Front panel sound not working* Hello everyone,
I've just bought a PCI Express X-Fi Titanium. So far everything works great with my 5. sound system, but I have problems with my front panel audio.
My case only supports AC97 front panel audio, but has all individual connectors (so 7 single connectors, not one with 0 pins).
I've already tried only connecting 5 pins (the two AC97 return pins unconnected) and connecting all 7 pins. In both ways the microphone works, but sadly not the headphone output. I also tried changing the two options in the driver but that changed nothing.
I did some Google searching and found many reports where the sound itself works with an AC97 front panel on an HD soundcard, just no jack detection.
Any ideas why that isn't working for me?

! Try here for pinouts of your jacks. I have a Cooler Master case that has AC97 and INTEL HD front panel jacks, but here is the kicker. The AC97 jacks come from the front panel first and then about fi've inches from this jack is an INTEL HD jack. A few wires are changed but perhaps these will help...

When pressing the home button, it has no function at all. Please advise me what is the solution for it! if I press the power button, it has functioned, therefore I got no idea why the home button totally cant work as usual

Try calibrating the home button.
Open a stock app like Calendars or Notes.
Hold the power button until the red slider switch appears.
When it appears release the power button and press the home button until the home screen appears.
Hopefully your home button now works.

Programmatically resizing Front Panel does not repaint

I am trying to extend the width of a front panel at run time when a user hits a button. The problem is
that the contents of the newly exposed front panel section are not redrawn. I have to either drag
another window over that section or minimize-maximize it to get it to repaint.
My issue is how can I get the front panel to refresh/repaint, or if that is not possible what other
ways are there to do resizing. I have tried changing the "Window Bounds" and "Panel Bounds" properties of
the VI (not at the same time) as well as using LVWUtil32 (Windows API Function Utilities (32-bit) for
LabVIEW). Each of these methods results in the same problem.

HI Naveen,
It seems to me that you are having Problem with your Graphics Hardware, rather than labview. Generally the window should be repainted by system.
If you go to Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshooting or Graphic Acceleration - You may see the slider to full Acceleration. Under this setting the OS basically relegates most graphic duties to Graphic Hardware.
What you may want to do is to Move the slider a couple of notches back. And then try your VI's. Infact try all the settings on your Slider. See if it works at No Acceleration.
The Problem for me is I do not Have this Problem and cannot even simulate it to try a solution.
Another Solution is this -
There is a vi Property Class called "Front Panel" Which can be access
ed from Vi Server. Under this Class you will see a Property "Defer Front Panel Update" Generally this Property is used to Prevent a redraw. But if this Property is set to False, Labview immediately redraws the Panel.
What you may want to do is after resizing to let you program go through this Property Node set to False and See if this Helps.
By The way, the way you have to wire this Property is to Open a Vi Ref, Wire it to Property Node, Select Property as "Front Panel". Right Click on "Front Panel" and Click on Create-> Property -> Defer Front Panel Update. Wire the Referneces of the these Objects, with the output of "Front Panel" going to "Defer FP Update".
I hope your ver of Labview has these Properties. I am Using 6.1

IPod connected, however, it does not function properly

The iPod I have is the 60gb. I have had problems with my iPod previously since the 2006-3-23 update but fixed it.
-Delete all files manually from iPod
-Uninstall iTunes, iPod, and all applications associated with the programs within the installation
-Delete files manually within the specified drives
-Reset iPod
-Reinstall everything
Upon fixing my iPod, the updater 2006-1-10 was running without my knowing and I happened to disconnect it and now, it fails to interface properly with my Laptop. The iPod itself works. The menus function and I can still reset it.
The problem I have is that upon connecting my iPod to my computer, my computer slows down and when clicking on 'My Computer,' and clicking on my iPod icon, it freezes and the iPod itself is inaccessible. Whenever I click on the icon, the 'busy' icon appears then the whole window freezes forcing me to Ctrl Alt Del, as that is the only way to exit out of the window.
I have tried erasing all the files from my computer several times and reinstalling along with system restores but to no avail. The contents within the iPod itself are simply inaccessible by PC and the Updater 2006-1-10 fails to recognize my iPod and simply freezes. Resetting iPod via Hold button + Menu + Select button/Menu + Play Button = ineffective as well.
Any suggestions?

I think the solution is fairly simple:
First, turn off MobileMe.
If you have any iCal events on your iPhone or iPad, enter them into iCal on your Mac.
If you have duplicate calendars on iCal, delete them (be sure to check that you're deleting the right one (click on each copy of the category - e.g., Home, Work, etc. - to make sure that you don't delete the main one you're going to use to sync later). If, say, some events appear in one "Work" calendar and not in the main "Work" calendar, then enter those events into the main "Work" calendar. It's easy to figure this out. Just turn off each "Work" calendar and you'll see which events disappear. If no events disappear when you deselect a calendar, you're safe to delete that calendar.
Once you have all your events entered on each calendar category, sync your iPhone or iPad with iTunes. Be sure to check "Calendars" under "Replace all information on this iPhone" under the "Info" tab.
The sync should put one copy of each calendar on the iPhone and all your events will appear (only one of each).
I haven't tried to use MobileMe to sync iCal events to other devices. All my problems seemed to start when I tried to sync with MobileMe. I think it's useless.

NI DMM Soft front panel did not detect any ni-dmm

has anyone seen this failure? I can´t open soft front panel to setup the dmm. I tried to reinstall VISA and NI-DMM without success.

Hello,
reinstalling the nidmm and visa will cause several reboots of the system. That was no solution
for me and my problem.
After starting the nidmm, the window with the information, that the 4072 won´t be found shows
a RESCAN button. By pressing the RESCAN button, the error code -1074118656 and the message,
that the device ist not recognized and this version or driver wont fit my 4072.
Should I install the only install the delivered driver or could I update to the actual version?
Delivered was Version 2.5 of NIDMM, installed on my system is the actual one from the NI homepage.
I think, I try to deinstall the NI-SW completely and install "only" the delivered SW. Hope, this will solve.
