Ipod Nano sync songs but when play song it stops

HI,
When I listen to the song in Itunes the whole song plays well. Once I sync the nano the same song plays for a few seconds and stops. Can anyone help me with this? What can I do to fix it?

This issue has been posted several times; try to search for "ipod skipping songs".

I got a new iPod nano 7th gen, but when i tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Soem of the videos in your iTunes library were not copied to yor iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod. What should I do?

I kept having a similar problem - 3 out of the 10 videos I had on iTunes wouldn't sync. They were in the right format and I KNEW they worked on my iPod because I'd RECORDED them on my iPod. I finally figured out what to do! Go to the movies in your iTunes library. Click on one that does not sync. Click on "Advanced" at the top of iTunes and choose "Create iPod or iPhone version". Once that's finished, be sure you delete the old version so you don't keep getting the error (or have 2 copies of the same video) and sync. This should eliminate the problem. At least it did for me!

  • I reset my computer and ipod and it says that my ipod is syncing music but when I look on my ipod touch there is no music there.

I reset my computer and ipod and it says that my ipod is syncing music but when I look on my ipod touch there is no music there. How can i fix it? I have backed up and restored my ipod touch 4th gen several times.

This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

  • Ipod Nano (older model) -- won't play songs

My Ipod Nano was working fine yesterday but today, it says it's NOW PLAYING the song but the counter isn't moving and there is a funny looking symbol on the right side of the screen that kind of looks like a little pair of scissors.
I copied songs (MP3 files) off my hard drive onto the Ipod.  That has always worked fine for me before.
I tried sliding hold button back and forth.  Checked volumn level.  Can't figure out why it won't play!
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

Have you tried a hard reset of the device yet?  To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • IPod skips final minutes of a song; but iTunes plays song OK.

Sorry if this has been discussed before; I tried to find a similar topic but couldn't find anything. It if has been discussed before, please direct me to the thread.
One particular song on my iPod never plays the final minutes - play always stops at exactly same point (more than a minute to the end), playcount is incremented, and next song is played. It always happens to this particular same song, that is never played to the end.
I have already checked if any stop time is checked for the song but nothing is marked.
iTunes plays the song correctly up to the last second.
    I appreciate your help.

Hi there, thought I'd share my ipod nightmare that may or may shed some light on problems of skipping/jumping.
I corrupted my database on the ipod and the only program I found that would display/backup the songs is ipod access (http://www.findleydesigns.com/ipodaccess/index.html) - as I only keep music on my ipod to save space on my computer - and even that kept on crashing, so I backed up one album at a time. 5 hours later...
So I did a restore, this time mac formatted not PC to the 1.3 firmware. Chucked the songs back on and most of the songs would skip/jump....oh yay.
Trawled through lots of threads - eg firmware, defrag issues etc... and thought the best was to revert back to 1.2.1 firmware and zero the data - as there is no conclusion what is the problem.
So this is what I did:
    1. Erased ipod with Disk Utility using the zero out data option (in security options) - this takes about 1.5 hrs.
    2. Deleted the 1.3 firmware files (ipsw and signature file located in (user)>library>itunes>ipod software updates.
    3. downloaded the 1.2.1 ipsw and sig files and put them in the above directory.

    4. disconnected from the internet (so it doesn't update to the 1.3 firmware) and restored the ipod. (might have to download the 1.2.1 firmware/updater - can't quite remember sorry - maybe included in the above files)
Ipod is all sweet now. Think I will buy a esata drive for backup now and also read more before I push that yearning update button.
    Good Luck.

i have a 5th gen ipod nano that freezes when playing songs. i can't skip, turn down volume, turn ipod off. it simply screeches as the song is stuck at a specific point. any suggestions?

You have 2 options:  #1 - iPod Repair Tutorials
#2 - take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

Is the "software update" for iTunes 12?  Or something you did to the iPod?

And the Radio app probably doesn't work either.
The headphone jack on the nano is very tight when new. Push the jack all the way in, the plastic on the headset jack should be flush with the body of the nano.

  • Since downloading 11.0.1 (12), Itunes can't locate or play many songs but the same songs still play on my synched iPod.

Since downloading Itunes 11.0.1 (12), Itunes can't locate or play many songs but the same songs still play on my synched iPod. I have a MacBook Air, Lion OS, Itunes version 11.0.1 (12).  I didn't see this problem with older versions of Itunes.  I do not manually change the organization of the Itunes library.  I use the Itunes "add to library" feature or Amazon's MP3 downloader.  Sometimes, however, I have changed song information in the "info" window.  Such as unchecking the "compilation" button and sorting by artist (for that song), so that I can search by artist in the top pane of Itunes (otherwise the song is sorted in an album that is a "compilation," but not under the name of the artist who sang a particular song.  I've done this without problem in the past, but perhaps the newer version of Itunes can't handle the changes I made and has lost track of where the older version of Itunes stored such songs?    How do I fix all these older previously ok changes if that's the case...  If I could just find where they are stored in Itunes it would be easier perhaps.  I've looked in compilations, unknown artist, and so forth to no avail.  And Finder search can't find them.
Details: suddenly, many songs are marked with "!," denoting that Itunes cannot find the songs in the library and cannot play them. Oddly, my iPod CAN play the "unlocatable" songs with no problem (it has been synched "post problem").  So the songs are still there somewhere in the Itunes library.  This problem occurs by album, that is, all songs from the same album become unlocatable, although different albums by the same artist may still be found and played.
Exploring the Itunes library to try to locate the missing albums/songs, I discovered that generally there is no longer any folder specified for any artist associated with a missing album [artist is the top level of organization and album is the second; compilations are in the same folder]. This is true even if I have other albums from the same artist which Itunes IS able to locate.  I cannot find a single song/album by such artists anywhere in the Itunes file system, even the ones that Itunes can still play.  If I right click and "get info" for an unlocatable song, I get a notification box that asks if I want to locate the file.  If I click "no," next thing-- the info window for the song pops up, with all the correct info (including sort info, which I double check)!  Why is Itunes able to locate all the info on the song, but is not able to play the MP3 file?
Using Finder I cannot locate the songs that are unlocatable by Itunes (except the original download files in the Amazon MP3 folder).  Finder is, of course, able to find Itunes songs that Itunes has no trouble locating.  What's up?!  My iPod can find them just fine.  I just synched my iPod again and am playing the "unlocatable" songs right now.
I can "fix" most of these files by downloading files one by one into Itunes from my Amazon download folder or from my CDs using the "add to library" feature. In fact, it is strange.  But this will take a very long time!  And what if this problem continues recurring?   But something strange happens when I implement this fix.  I added one song to Itunes (from the Amazon MP3 folder, using "add to library") for one "unlocatable" album of Pete Seegers. After adding that one song, I looked at the Itunes music library and discovered that a folder for Pete Seeger (which was not there before I added the song) had been newly created, or restored.  In this folder was the one song I had just added, but ALSO all my other Seeger albums that had previously remained "locatable" by Itunes.  But the other "unlocatable" songs were not restored, unfortunately.

I have found a workaround. When I create a new playlist, iTunes allows me to add or remove songs from existing playlists for a short while. Then, for some reason it prevents me from adding and deleting songs again. Not sure why. Go figure.

  • MY IPOD SKIPS WHEN PLAYING SONGS

MY IPOD SKIPS WHEN PLAYING SONGS AND THE SOUND GOES IN AND OUT. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Is the Battery level is low?
The harddisk might be dying, run the disk diagnostic, the procedure is
    http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/index.shtml
if it is too technical for you, but it does gives you the condition of your harddisk.
What's happening is that some songs are on bad cluster, which need to be moved or reallocate to good cluster.
To fix it in Windows simply run
    chkdsk drive: /R /F
where drive: is the iPod drive ID. D: or E:
in Mac run Diskutilty -> FirstAid -> repair.
    Good luck!

  • IPod Touch shows the wrong artwork when playing songs

Recently my iPod Touch has just decided to display all the wrong artwork when playing songs. For example I will be listening to Chris Brown and It will be showing a picture of a Jay-Z album. How do I fix this?!
I've read that all you have to do is 'uncheck "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod.'.. however I manually add the songs onto my iPod so I can't uncheck the music option as it's already unchecked!
Please help, my iPod looks so ugly showing the wrong artwork lol

When I click on a song iTunes tells me it is not authorized to play this song but when I authorize it, it tells me the computer is already authorized.  What do I do to play the songs?

Delete the song from your Itunes music list, then redownload it, Itunes will ask you if you if you want to download it for free.  This seems to be the fix for my problems.
