Ipod Nano will not Start unless resetted  everytime

Hello Nano world'
My Nano just started to act strange
One night I fell asleep with the Nano on (with the sleep timer set to 60 minutes) I had just charged it via the computer USB. I woke up the next morning and tried to turn it on ... No luck.
Tried to reset (center button +menu) apple logo came on worked fine
I turned it off. Tried turning on no luck again...
Tried reset ..came on again only stayed on for a few minutes (battery icon showed more than 3/4 green)
Couldn't turn on again ... tried reset but this time instead of apple icon ,it showed battery with ! mark
Is it possible that the USB charger doesnt have quite the power to fully charge the Nano?
So in short the only way to turn on is by the reset method
and some times it shows the battery ! icon
PS did the latest update on the nano and did a factory reset
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the quick reply
I went out and bought i Ipod AC charger thinking that it might be the USB port not supplying enough power
First I plugged it in the charger Everything seemed normal at this point The charging icon appeared .. I could turn it off and on like normal(holding the play/pause button.
I went away for about 10 minutes. Tried turning it on normally ,, didn't work.. tried a reset (center button+menu) now it won't even turn on at all
The only wierd thing that comes to mind when it was working for the short time is that I tried setting the clock several times; it would set itself back to 1:55 AM after about 5 tries
I am really starting to lose faith in this product
I used to have a BenQ MP3 player never one problem
This is the 4th Nano that I have gone through
Hope I can get this resolved
Thanks
Norm

  • My ipod nano will not work unless connected to the internet - what can I do

I have just downloaded music, pictures, etc., charged the battery and safely disconnected, but my ipod does not respond after the eject from I-tunes. What can I do to find out how to get it to work?

    Try:
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
Next, try doing a manual install/update using the instructions here:

I just bought a new laptop and my ipod nano will not stay connected to my computer. When I first connect the ipod it starts to sync on my ipod but not on itunes. The ipod is initially connected to my computer, I can see it when I look on devices in my computer. However, when it finishes syncing it is no longer detected to my computer. I cannot transfer any of my songs to my new laptop because of this. I have tried to reinstall itunes, reset my ipod and use a different port. None of these things worked. Any ideas?

  • Ipod Nano will not turn off

My ipod nano will not power off. Even the sleep button does not work. I have reset everal times. Any thoughts?

I've been through 4 of those R's, as well as the Quick Fix and about 5 hours on the phone with Apple. It will now turn off, but it is still not visible to iTunes and the iPod updater won't run because it also can't see the iPod. Windows sees it just fine, so now I'm awaiting a 3-5 day response from an Apple engineer about what is wrong. This all started when I installed the 6.0 update. I'm now back to the older software, but it still won't reconize my iPod, so therefore will not update it with new songs, etc.
    Thanks for your reply.

My ipod touch will not start up and the menu will stay on menu of Itunes. Who can help me?

    Hi,
Have you tried a hard reset of your iPod?  Press/hold the home and sleep/wake buttons down until the Apple logo appears.
    Hope this helps!

Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok.

  • My generation 6 Ipod nano will not let me download songs from my library to my playlist if they are on the cloud. How do i get the songs on my playlist?

My generation 6 IPOD Nano will not let me put songs on my playlist from the library. A message comes up saying it has to be downloaded from the cloud. I do I bypass this?

If the songs are not in your iTunes library, download them as indicated here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.  Then sync them to your iPod.

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

  • Nano will not work unless plugged in

    Hello.
I have searched through the help section and through the forums, but I can not seem to crack this problem.
My inlaws told me there iPod nano would not work anymore. They simply told me that they could not get it to come on. I thought I could fix it rather easy. Turns out that it isn't that easy.
The nano will only work when I have it plugged up. It says it is fully charged. When I unplug the nano, the screen dims out for a second and then goes to gray as if it were off. I can not get it to come back on however. When it is plugged in, I can navigate through the nano as if there are no problems. As soon as it is unplugged however it acts dead.
Any suggestions? I've tried resetting. Doesn't work unless plugged in...and didn't solve the problem. I've done the five r's. No problems with the hold button...
I am lost on this one guys.

I would say that it's a dud battery.
You can arrange online service here.
    Service request.
Or if an Apple store is near you, take it there and have them check your iPod.

  • My ipod nano will not show any music on it after syncing or manuallly adding it, but the information still takes up space in ipod

I have tried to put music on my ipod nano 3rd gen both manually and syncing it, but it never shows up after I eject my nano. The songs I put on will take up space, but the ipod says no songs. I have restored it multiple times and nothing has helped.

    Hey there Eduardo_09,
It sounds like your iPod Nano is not appearing in either Windows, or iTunes on your computer. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article to help isolate and resolve the issue:
iPod not recognized in My Computer and in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1369
Here is step 1 to get you started, but there are additional steps within if needed:
    1. Start with the iPod Troubleshooting Assistant
If you haven't already done so, use the iPod Troubleshooting Assistant that applies to your iPod. This will often solve your issue.
If you're still experiencing the issue after going through each of the steps in the assistant, continue with the steps below in this article. The most likely solutions are listed below (for both USB and FireWire (IEEE 1394) iPod connections). Check each section starting from the top of the list to see if that is what's keeping your iPod from appearing.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling
