IPod no longer syncs with computer

My iPod will no longer sync with my laptop. I keep getting the following message:
"The iPod "JRT's iPod" cannot be syned. You do not have enough access privledges for this operation."
Apple told me tht it was a problem with my Norton 360 software. I have since removed the software and the problem still persists.

Try
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
New cable and different USB port?
Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • IPhone no longer syncs with computer--"Cannot access the iTunes store"

My iPhone 2G has decided to no longer sync with my iTunes. I do not have internet on my computer (I'm doing this on a friend's), so when I connect my iPhone to my computer, an error message pops up that says "Cannot access the iTunes store". Since my iPhone is normally synced manually, I can still drag new files onto it; however, any movies/podcasts on the iPhone keep reappearing even after I've deleted them (from the iPhone itself). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Delete then re-install iTunes & Delete the following files:
The iTunes application (located in /Applications)
    com.apple.iTunes.plist (from ~/Library/Preferences)
    iTunes.pkg (from /Library/Receipts)
    iTunesX.pkg (from /Library/Receipts)
then re-download the latest version of iTunes.

  • Iphone no longer syncing with computer

I've had my Iphone 4 for several months and sync it daily with my computer.  For some reason the phone is no longer syncing with the computer.  There is no reason for this to happen so I was hoping someone could help me figure this out.
    Thanks,

What have you tried to fix it?
    Have you rebooted your computer?
Have you verified you have the latest version of iTunes/iOS?
Have you rebooted phone (not just turn off and on, but the reset/reboot process which is not same as Restoring it)?

  • EDUCATION:  Updated to new iPad iOS - can no longer sync with computer

I recently updated all of my class iPads (36) to the new iOS.
Now I can no longer sync them with the ONLY computer they have ever been sync'd with.  I get a message that the iPad is "now associated" with another device (which it is NOT).  I have never used Absolute App Manager, etc, just used VPP to sync.
    HELP please.
    Thank you
    =(

    Hi KChanOHS,
Hmmm… that is strange. Are you using the latest version of iTunes on your computer? If not, update it. Did you restore any backups from iCloud on any of these? Maybe with a different account?
I would troubleshoot this iTunes similar to how I would troubleshoot Apple Configurator… on a Mac OS X computer I would confirm that I'm logged on to the computer (not just iTunes) with the same account used when I set up the iPads… I would check file and folder permissions in my home directory to make sure I had read/write access to everything under /Users/<yourusername>… maybe even run a permissions repair using Disk Utility to make sure everything with the OS is running properly… beyond that, I don't know what else to try. I'd be tempted to back everything up, wipe the iPads clean, and start over. I knot that's not a "good" option, but if I could no longer sync I'd be tempted to start over.
On another note, we are coming up on summer vacation for students which is a good time to reevaluate processes and make changes. I often make a list of things I want to change with my deployment and implement them during school breaks. I recommend using Apple Configurator instead of iTunes to manage your classroom set of iPads. It is designed to manage multiple iPads whereas iTunes is more designed for a single user/device. • IPod no longer syncing with address book

I have an older iPod that has always worked great, and it still does except it now no longer syncs my contacts from my address book.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

When you synced the iPod, go to iTunes and your iPod will automatically be listed under "Devices" on the left column.  Click on it and it will tell you what kind of device you have, the version, and other info if you click on the tabs above the iPod's picture.  The tabs are "Summary," "Apps," "Music," "TV Shows," "Books," "Photos," and "Info."  Click Info, and click the box next to "Sync Contacts."  It should work then.

  • TS1286 iPod no longer syncs with iTunes either by USB or Wi-Fi

My iPod Touch2 is recognised by Windows7 PC when connected by USB and only shows in iTunes under STORE under items purchased. But there is no icon to allow sync to take place.  Wifi no longer works even when iPod is charging and iTunes is running on PC.  iTunes and iPod software shows as up to date.  iPod has been hot and cold restarted.  Nothing suggested in FAQ's is working.   Please help.

  • 2nd generation iPod touch not syncing with computer

When I plug in my 2nd generation 8g iPod touch, it doesn't say "syncing" and it doesn't show up as a device on my computer. I tested the cord with a wall charger, and it's not the cord's problem. Is it because my iPod is an older system? My iTunes updated by itself so it's the newest version. Help!!!

I have unfortuantly had the exact same problem following my update to iTunes 11.
Incase someone explains the problem for me and not you, here is the link to my post. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4755057
Best of luck getting it to work!

  • Zen Micro No Longer Syncing With Comput

About a week ago my Zen Micro started to act up. When i plug it in to my comp it just freezes, so bad that i have to charge with the wall adapter. I would've posted earlier but the problem showed up as i was loading music for a week vacation. So... anyone else had a problem like this? Im goin to call cust. support tomorrow and see waht they say. Thanx in advance.

    Settings->Audio Settings
First try reloading the firmware onto the player, if that doesnt work then you might be a victim of the headphone jack problem.
If the player is still under warranty then contact Creative and they should be able to fix it for you.

  • My ipod no longer synchs with itunes

My ipod no longer syncs with iTunes and my computer. It shows up under devices, but not in itunes.  I installed an update from Apple yesterday. Could this be causing the problem (their updates have caused issues before), or is there something I need to do to get the iPod to synch with iTunes? Thanks. JP

  • No longer syncs with iCal

Since upgrading to itunes 7 and updating the ipod software, my ipod no longer syncs with my iCal calendars - despite having the option selected to do so. I have tried restoring from scratch to no avail. It does work if I copy the calendars manually into the folder on my iPod, but this is a bit of a hassle. Anyone else seen this? I updated to itunes 7.01 today and it still does it.

  • My iPad 2 will no longer Sync with iTunes on my computer.  It tells me to Restore which I don't want to do as I may lose valuable information from my iPad. My wife's iPad 2 and my ipod still Sync OK. How can I overcome this?

My iPad 2 will no longer Sync with iTunes on my computer.  It tells me to Restore which I don't want to do as I may lose valuable information from my iPad. My wife's iPad 2 and my ipod still Sync OK. How can I overcome this?

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.
    $19.99 - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

Move or copy all the media from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer.
