  • IPod (3G) reboots when turned on (often)

wondering if anyone has had a similiar issue and if they have any advice (either to fix or to send back to Apple to be fixed):
if i let the iPod sit for a day or so without being used or charged, when i turn it on it will reboot. the iPod still works perfectly, but it will always reboot itself when turned on.
this usually does not happen (or happens less) if i use it more frequently (less time sitting unused) or multiple times in one day.

    I see, "deep sleep mode"...
    makes sense.
looks like this has been addressed previously in the boards, but i didn't know to search for "deep sleep mode". tried a bunch of other search combo's, but none worked...
    thanks.

  • IPod says All when I click on Music

I installed software version 1.2.2 on my computer and iPod yesterday. When I disconnected my iPod and clicked on Music and click Artists, it shows "All" with the arrow. I click on the arrow and it goes to All Albums, and All Songs and then nothing. When I plug the iPod back into the computer, I can see all the music on the iPod and listen to it. When I unplug it, it just says All again. Suggestions?

Is that a 5th Gen iPod?
If so, perhaps see the following document:

I wish I could help you too. I've run into the exact same problem and nothing that I'm following in the manual is helping. My screen actually says "Do not disconnect." If I toggle with it and try to reset it, then the same screen as you described comes on.
I'm waiting for someone that can help me too.

  • Ipod Occasionally Freezes When Turned On

I'm wondering if problems I am having are being caused by the "1.2 firmware freezing problem." I got my 5th gen video Ipod after Itunes 7 was released, so I never had an earlier firmware on my ipod. My ipod does not freeze while playing music, but it occasionally freezes when I first turn it on. When this happens, I will be able to move through the menus (sometimes slowly), but when I try to play anything I hear silence. After I turn the ipod off (which sometimes doesn't work right away) and then back on I can then play audio.
Has anyone else experienced this type of freezing? I'm wondering if I should try downgrading the firmware, which has been suggested in this forum. I've already went through the factory restoration and it did not resolve the issue. Thanks a lot for the help.

    Nothin'?

  • IPod screen blank when turned on

When I turn on my iPod classic all I get is white when I should get the menu or the now playing screen. I've tried hooking it up to iTunes, resetting it, and restoring it. When I reset it, it's the same but it shows up grey. The blacklight still goes off after 5 seconds because that's how I have it set, but there's nothing on the screen, it's all just white or grey.
    Any help here?

  • Does my ipod touch charge when turned off!

Hi guys i got my 16g ipod touch in the uk after work tonight. A quick question, when connected to the computer does it continue to charge when i turn the power off on the touch? As nothing indicates on the screen that it is charging and it also disappears from itunes. cheers

Yeah I was wondering the same thing since my ipod for some reasons seems to charge really slowly. I'm about to burn my one support call and might end up sending it back as a defect. I've charged it while using my computer (so obviously it wasn't asleep), and it would creep up very slowly. Then I let it charge overnight on my laptop (8 hours) and it would go like 25% from about 25% battery. I tried recharging it from my iHome ipod dock and it would charge a bit faster, then sort of cap off at about 66-75% battery. I've tried turning sticking it i the iHome and turning it off and seemed to have no effect on the battery. I'm going to try it again tonight having it turned off while attached to my laptop. It will be my last attempt before calling Apple. I am really frustrated.
