IPod Touch 16Gb Screen Not Responding - Please Help

I bought my 16Gb first gen iPod Touch in November 2007 and its been a champ ever since....until today.
For some reason the touch screen has just stopped responding to any commands (initially the slide to unlock worked but it wouldn't accept a password input and now it doesn't even allow the slide to unlock to work). It was on firmware 3.01 when it originally happened but I have since put it into DFU mode and updated to 3.12. Unfortunately this has made no difference to the problem and I've even tried downgrading to 2.2.1 but that process failed too.
Can anyone help?

i know this bug. -.-
my ipod had it too.
I sent it to a firma which repaired it.
besides here you can get a protect case for your ipod. ;D

  • Ipod touch 2g speakers not working Please help me!!!!!!

ok so i got my ipod for christmas the loud speaker has been working great. I dnt use it that often. Just 2 days ago, it stopped working. Like the clicking sound fro the keyboards, alarms, and even music wouldnt work. Today the clicking sound came back but went again. I tried a reset and restore. still nothing. I noticed that everytime i turn off the volume and i go to music or anything that involves volume, the volume automatically adjusts to full. i dnt know if this is normal. Please help me!!

I'm sorry for that but I guess you have to say good buy to your old friend...
I have just received my third iPod touch that already has some new problems just to annoy me(of the conection-prolems sort).
This is definetly a hardware problem! But you could try to be sure that nothing is left in your headphone jack. And your volume problem is weird but not unusual.
    (Excuse my bad english please)
Oh and try to set the volume settings to adapt to one level.
Another reason could be a faulty volume rocker switch.

HOw do I unlock my daughters iPod touch with no computer? Please help me!

If she set up Find My iPod on it before this happened, follow the instructions listed under "If you don't have access to a computer" here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212.  Otherwise, you would have to use a computer to restore it by following one of the other two solutions listed at the bottom of the article.

  • IPod touch 5th gen not responding

The screen on my iPod touch 5th gen froze for 5 minutes so I restarted it but the screen went blank and the apple logo did not appear. I've tried restarting it but no matter what I do, the iPod still will not respond. Help?

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

can somebody please help??? im dying here !

    Hello Jerome19961996:
Sorry about your wipe out. Are you ready to try it again? This time we will do it the right way. We first have to get you back to orginal factory ok. Lets first see if can use the recovery manger. Type in your all program search box Recover Manager.Open it and click factory restore. If it is still there. If not then you will need to use your recovery disk. If you did not make a copy then you will need to purchase them from HP's parts store. Direction on how to order them are on your computers update page.  Ounce you have your computer restored to factory condition. We can now upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate.
This time we are going to use just the product key number. Goto all programs search box again and type in Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. Open it and inter the product key that you purchased already. This time do not remove programs or delete any thing. Let it upgrade on it's own. This time everthing that is on your computer already will not be touched. The upgrade will only install what upgrades are needed with out disturbing HP's software. Ounce the initial upgrade is completed then go on line and download Windows 7 Ultimate add on's. Windows XP mode, XP Virtual Windows and Languages .  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-7    You should be all set now. Thank and welcome to the forum. Please click on Kodus if this has helped resolved your issue. Thank you.frrw

  • My ipod touch isn't working. Please help!!

So I was using my Ipod touch, generation 4 32g, recently and I dropped it onto a wooden floor. The hard case (i got it at one of the stand things at the mall) fell off like it usually does when i drop it on a hard surface. I picked it up and it continued to work. I went to my room, bought a new app and played it for a while. When I was done using it I lightly tossed it onto my bed. A little while later I went and picked it up and tried to use it. The screen was completely black and would not turn on when I held down the power button. Usually when it dies because the battery is too low, when I hold the power button an i con comes up but it won't even do that. I have tried charging it but it won't work. Is there any way to fix it without needing to get a new one? I don't know if there is a warrenty on it because I got it as a gift. If you have had this problem or a simmilar one could you please let me know how much it would cost without a warrenty or with a warrenty. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Your iPod is probably covered by the warranty.  Check here:
Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage
However, it does not cover misuse such as caused by dropping the iPod.
    - Try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - See if placing the iPod in recovery will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

  • IPod touch home button not responding well even after replacement

Replaced the home button of my 4th gen iPod touch 2 times but no go, I even tried to restore but it still doesn't work. Please any help will be appreciated.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
      - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem. Maybe you damaged something when you repaired thw Home button.
