Ipod touch 3rd generation will not sync to any computers, help
Ipod touch 3rd generation will not sync to my laptop, tried everything I can think of except getting new usb cable. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Well, even bought the usb cable today and that didn't help. Guy at Best Buy told my son to reset the ipod to the factory settings; so he did and it wiped everything off the ipod and now he still can't get it to hook up to his laptop so no way to get anything back on the ipod. Don't know what to do know. Getting frustrated.

IPod Touch 3rd generation will not sync music
My 3rd generation 32GB iPod Touch won't sync music. It will not even be able to start to sync. A message "The iPod "Cindy's iPod" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start." It was given to me in August 2010 as a gift, and it was bought from Costco in America. The iPod has been updated to IOS5. I am using a Windows 7 laptop, and this is the very same laptop I have been using to sync the same iPod for the past year and a few months. The last time I was able to sync it was February 26th, 2012.
When I drag music to onto iTunes to sync it with the iPod, it will not sync, and the song is whited out and has the syncing symbol to the left of it (but not swirling).
Everytime I unplug and plug the iPod back in to sync it, the songs I tried to sync from before are still white out, and they are still there even after I delete them (and unplug and replug the iPod back).
I have tried restarting the laptop, reinstalling iTunes, and turning off and on my iPod.
When I try to restore the iPod, iTunes won't let me.
Normally, if this happens, I am able to permanently delete the none syncing song from the iPod music library, and resync it by dragging the file from the laptop and putting it into iTunes. I have tried over 10 times, but the same problems happen each time.
Here is a screenshot of what I am talking about.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.If you can see the iTunes Media folder inside your Music folder in your computer, put all your songs their and try resyncing everything in your iTunes. It should be able to work as that is what I did to this type of problem before. Hope it helps.

The backlight on my ipod touch 3rd generation will not come on, but everything else is working fine I even took the tech support advice by plugging it in and resetting it, but that didn't fix the issue either. I need help.
If not this:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
Also heating sometimes works. See:
Why can't I select my wifi settings?
A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Then:
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? See other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I've gotten the iPod to sync after restoring it and not changing ANY of the music sync settings. I didn't even click "sync music", I just have it on manual and clicked autofill.
After it synced all of the music successfully, I tried to sync a playlist (my recently added), and it's gone bonkers again, it won't sync the playlist's music, or any new music now. -
My ipod touch 2nd generation will not sync my downloaded songs
My ipod touch 2nd generation will not sync my downloaded songs, does anyone have any help
What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

My ipod touch 3rd generation fell off of a chair, it worked ok fow a while then the bottom half of the screen would not work, now the entire screen is not working
I'm not sure what to do.You can try the following to rule out a software probem:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem they yu very likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
I need some help. I want to sync my iPod touch 4th generation and it WILL NOT sync. I reinstalled iTunes and it still won't sync. I also let my friend use my sync cord, could that have anything to do with my problem?? I really need some help. So please answer me back if you know what could be wrong.
Could be the cable. Have you tried:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X -
Hello all, I am writing this message in the hope that somebody can help me to solve my issue with my iPod touch fourth generation. It has been unable to sync with iTunes, but shows up in windows as the iPod touch. I also had this problem with my older iPods as well (Ipod nano 4th Gen, iPod touch 2nd gen(Batteries done for that one)) I can sync music with iCloud, but I have a bunch of songs that are not in the store, and I sincerely want to add those, alot.
I've checked the "iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes" with the link here: (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363), and followed that process, but to no avail, it does not solve the problem. I've tried to reset the entire ipod by making it enter DFU mode and then rebooting the entire iPod (shows up in iTunes in temporary mode) but once restored, does not appear in iTunes, but still in Windows detected still as a iPod, looks like the iPod and everything. I also have the most uup-to-date iTunes installed (10.5 I believe, just got it today)
This is extremely frustrating because that is why I purchased the iPod (and for the games and apps, those are great too). The iPod was also purchased three days ago, and the setup still didn't detect it. I am not mad at anybody here or the Apple company itself, but I have not found any help online with the browsing option (for support of course).
Please, I would absolutely love the help, i'd be eternally grateful for it.
-TylerNever mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

My iPod Touch 5th Generation will not sync properly
I plug on my iPod Touch like normal and its backs up all the files, but every time I try to "sync" it, it will not sync properly. I added a few songs (not boughten off of iTunes) and they will not sync on my iPod. My iTunes is up to date and so is my iPod Touch. What is going on?

Ipod Touch 4 generation will not sync
I went to re-sync my Ipod touch and it seemed to be going okay. My itunes recognizes the ipod touch, but now it will not sync anything to it.
When I go into my ipod after it says "cancelling sync" I can see the music there but its in a faded lettering and is not accessible and all of my apps are still just in their waiting mode (like when you download them and they have the little bar going across the bottom) and all of the apps that are still waiting are ones that I have purchased.
I am really confused because my apple id and everything is the same from my computer to the itouch, no differences there but I pretty much dont have an ipod right now.
Any suggestionsTry unsyncing and resync all of your music again via iTunes.

Ipod touch 3rd generation does not sync with itunes 12
I upgraded iTunes to iTunes 12 and now my 3rd generation 64GB iPod Touch does not sync but 8 songs, even though the entire library is checked. I had removed all songs to reorganize the iPod but afterwards I was no longer able to re-sync the iPod Touch. A restore from previous was pointless because all the songs had already been removed. I ended up restoring the iPod Touch to factory settings and I still cannot sync any songs.
Do the non-syncing songs play in iTunes on the computer?

Can you sync apps or photos to the iPod? -
I have tried every trick in the book and read every thread on why my version of Windows Vista will not allow me to get at the iTunes Store. I cannot even get this new iPod Touch to sync with iTunes.
I've rebooted, soft restart, hard restart, removed iTunes and re-installed iTunes. Nada...nothing!

IPod Touch 3rd Gen will not sync or charge
Hello all,
I'm using a 3rd gen ipod touch, but when I attempt to charge or sync this device the ipod refuses to respond. I've upgraded itunes to the latest version, and I've also ensured I'm using a working USB 2.0 port. When the iPod is detected, I can go to device manager I see that the device is plugged in. Despite all of this, the ipod doesn't appear in itunes and is never charged.
What gives?I've gotten the iPod to sync after restoring it and not changing ANY of the music sync settings. I didn't even click "sync music", I just have it on manual and clicked autofill.
After it synced all of the music successfully, I tried to sync a playlist (my recently added), and it's gone bonkers again, it won't sync the playlist's music, or any new music now.
