Ipod touch 4 gen suddenly not connecting to macbook and not showing when its charging. Help pleassseeeeee

I also tried a hard reset ( I read in a discussion that it usually fixes most problems), but nothing when it askes me to connect it to itunes it does not work.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

  • My (up to date) iPod touch 5th gen is not showing up in (up to date) iTunes on my Windows 8.1 laptop.

I have recently bought a new laptop and downloaded iTunes to it right away. I have not been able to connect my iPod touch 5th gen to iTunes at all since then. I have updated both the iPod and iTunes completely and both are up to date. I tried different iPods of the same generation and they haven't connected either. I have tried using different cables and all my usb ports. I tried resetting my iPod and re-installing iTunes to my computer. My iPod is showing up in my computer but not under devices in iTunes. Can anyone help?

Check out the troubleshooting steps at this link from support: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
For me it was step 5 (Apple Mobile Device USB Driver) that solved the problem of none of my iOS devices being recognized by iTunes in the 11.3.1.2 version and Windows 8.1

  • Ipod touch 5th gen suddenly not compatible with volvo s60 through usb

My 5th gen ipod touch is suddenly not working in 2013 Volvo s60.  When I plugged it in via usb this afternoon (as usual), message came up on screen saying ipod was not compatible with this accessory.  I've already tried resetting it by pushing home and power button at same time but it didn't work this time.  Worked fine until today.  Any thoughts?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try another cable if it is a Lightning to USB cable
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • IPod Touch 1st gen suddenly not recognized in Windows

I have Windows Vista, and the 1st gen ipod touch. It was syncing last night but this morning I plug it in, and it doesn't sync. I get an error message from Windows saying it couldn't recognize the device, and to reconnect it. I un-plug then re-plug it back in, but I get the same error...oddly enough my iPod is not showing any error messages on its screen at all. I read the troubleshooting article and preformed the steps, with no help.

I'm trying two things, since we discovered a major part of the problem was my connector. I switched cables with my sister and her computer immediately synced my iPod.I bought a new cable ut now back home, my iPod doesn't do anything. It just charges, doesn't show up anywhere, no 'new hardware' notification shows up. So I will try uninstalling everything, just what about if I have Quicktime Pro? Will I have to re-enter my registration code into it again?

  • IPod touch 3rd Gen. will not show up iTunes or My Computer

I have reinstalled iTunes, I have tried recovory mode, I have the latest model, I've tried using other USB ports, I've done just about anything I can. I have had this iPod for like 3 years and have never had an issue. Now all the sudden it will not connect to the computer or show up in itunes. It does charge in a wall charger though. How do i fix this?

    Hi
I have posted just recently with a similar problem [although I suspect you are using Windows rather than OSX by your reference to device manager].
In my post I asked if iTunes 10 supports the 2nd gen nano as I am starting to suspect that it doesn't. Have you recently upgraded to 10?

I have tried everything that apple.com has told me. I have watched countless videos. I'm at a complete loss. I just want my ipod to work without destroying my computer.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
