IPod touch 4g suddenly not connecting to Alpine Stereo

I have a brand new Alpine CDA 105 stereo with the Alpine ipod connector and charger cord.
For the last 3 months, my iPod played and charged on it quite well. All of the sudden, when I plug it in my stereo says "Searching" like it usually does when I plug in my iPod, but then it displays the message that it can't find my device. It usually takes over my ipod and I get the charging screen, but it's not doing that either.
My iPod is kept updated and when I talked to Crutchfield they said it was compatible with the 4g touch.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Do a reset on the iPod.  Had this happen a couple
times with my CDA-117.  Resetting the iPod fixed
it.

  • IPod Touch 4gen will not connect to wifi no matter what

My white 8gb iPod Touch 4gen will not connect to wifi, I have reset the network and the entire iPod. When I got it for Christmas 2011 it worked perfectly for a few months then all of a sudden it stopped connecting, every connection I try to connect it to says the same thing; unable to join network... I am getting fed up, my first gen iPod Touch will connect to the wifi no problem, but the thing is it keeps crashing. I can't use it for more than a couple of minutes and it goes back to the home screen. If anyone could help, it is greatly appreciated!

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • My ipod touch 4g will not connect to my computer. Its not even in the device manager

My ipod touch 4g will not connect to my computer. Not to charge or connect to itunes. My usb ports work fine with everything else. I went and bought a new wall charger that came with a synce cord and it works fine, as a wall charger with wont work with my computer. Ive done the whole rebooting, re downloading itunes, redownloading apple software, the whole 9 yards.
What exactly happens when I plug my ipod touch 4g up if it turns on like it suppose to but instead of going to the home screeen with the little lighting bult in the battery is just acts like its not even plugged in. It just goes to connect to itunes screen.
I sent it to apple and they told me that whatever was wrong with it wasnt under warrenty but didnt tell me what it was. Ugh! It doesnt have water damage, I checked the indicators. So what do I do now? I would rather not go and get it fixed and spend 100 dollars. I would rather try and figure it out myself. Help please!

From what Apple said it appears you have a hardware problem. I would either pay to get it fixed or make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and discus it with them.

  • My ipod touch (4th) suddenly wont connect to my wifi. Other gadgets are connected though. I tried resetting the network and turning the wifi (and ipod) on and off but it still wont work. Any suggestions on what to do?

My ipod touch (4th) suddenly wont connect to my wifi. It connected fine before and all of my other electronics (tablets, computers, laptops, gaming systems, etc.) are connected and working completely fine. I tried turning the wifi setting on my ipod on/off as well as the actual ipod itself. I also tried resetting the network settings but neither of these options worked. Any suggestions on what I should do?

  • IPod touch 5th Gen. not connecting to iTunes over wifi

    Hi
My iPod touch has suddenly, in the last few days stoped being able to sync with the contents of my iMac over wifi. In the options part when a Device is conected to iTunes, there is a check box which I always have ticked. I have unticked this box and resynced, then reticked this box and resynced, but this has not worked. The only was to get music on to my iPod which I have on my iMac is to connect it the old fashion way with a cable.
The iPad mini has stayed connected. Both Devices are running iOS 8.2. I don't know what has done wrong

Thank you for your swift help. I think you should go to Level 11 just for helping me solve my problem.

  • Ipod touch 5g will not connect to home wifi

Hello there! I have this problem where my ipod touch wil not let me connect to my home wifi. When I try to join, a message will pop up saying "incorrect password". I know for sure that the password is 100% right. My ipod touch had no problems connecting to the internet a few months ago, but lately many of the apps that required internet would not load even with 3 bars of signal. Therefore, this is when I decided to rest the network settings. Biggest mistake. Now it won't even let me connect to the internet. I have tried everything. Holding the home button and power button together until apple logo pops up. Updating the software to ios 6.1.3, physically turning my ipod on and off, even the modem and reseting the network settings on ipod.
Will restoring my ipod back to factory settings work?
Thank you! It will be appreciated.

  • Ipod touch 2nd gen not connecting to mail now-any anwers?

My iPod Touch 2nd Generation can no longer connect to my email (formerly MobileMe account). I am running iOS 4.2.1
Why can I not suddenly connect to my email? It asks me to create account with MobileMe, which I already have. Every time
I try to put in my Apple ID and password (long in use, NOT new), it says it already exists (no fooling?). It becomes a big endless
loop and no matter how many times I repeat the activity, same answer. I even restarted the iPod, to no avail. Any answers?
    thank you for your help.

MobileMe has been discontinued and replaced by iClould. Did you transition to iCloud? However, the 2G iPod is no supported by iCloud.

  • IPod touch (4g) will not connect to computer

When I connect my iPod touch to any computer I get a pop up bubble saying USB device not recognized. I have uninstalled my drivers and re-installed them. I have reset my iPod at least 7 times and I have also erased everything and reset it to factory settings. I have uninstalled the apple software from my windows computer and reinstalled it so now I have the latest version of the software downloaded. The iPod is running iOS version 6.1.3. When I try to charge it does not say that it is connected and charging. It is supposed to make a connected sound and show a lightning bolt letting me know it's charging but it doesn't. Ive had to make sure that the battery is completely dead before the ipod will start to charge (still not notifying me I just leave it there and come back about 4 hours later and see it's fully charged). I have done everything I can think of and what people have suggested on other threads and nothing is working. My warranty is expired and I do not want to take it to Apple and pay $99 to get it fixed. Can anyone please help me?!

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. The appointment is free.

  • IPod touch 4g will not connect to lion

Hi, I'm an iOS developer. I recently updated to 10.7.4, I was using Snow Leopard for development before updating. My problem is that when I plug my iPod touch to the Mac nothing happens at all. If i delete applemobiledevice.kext then the iPod will charge and image capture will open, but it will not show up under devices or iTunes. I've gone through the worthless trouble shooting steps. Even with applemobiledevice.kext I can see that the iPod is plugged in with system inforamation. Everything has the latest updates. I can use this iPod on windows machines as well as the windows I'm dual booting with on the same machine. It seems to me this problem is very much with OSX lion, not the iPod, the machine or the cable. Is there anything that can be done?

I'd like to add that I still have this problem. Though if I create a virtual machine of OSX 10.7.0 under windows (running on the same machine, very redundant) that virtual machine has no problem using my iPod. This still does not solve my problem for obvious reasons, but again points to osx its self. Reinstalling osx, iTunes, ect. has no effect, there must be some file that isn't playing fair. Anyone have any insight? At this time I don't want to buy another Mac just to get around it seeing how common this problem is.

  • IPod touch 4th gen not connecting to anything

I got an iPod touch 4th generation for my birthday yesterday, it was charging and working fine until a few hours ago, my computer and iTunes can't find it, the whole adapter doesn't work basically, I even tried connecting it to my adapter and it still didn't work. All of this has seemed to occur after I updated my iPod to iOS 6.1.3, if anyone can help me with my problem it will be much appreciated.

    Have you tried a reset?
