Ipod touch 5g wifi not working after update

I recently did the update for ipod touch 5g, and now i cannot connect to any wifi network. I know the internet and connection is available as my phone and computer connect to my wifi just fine. How can i get my ipod to work on wifi again?

If not this:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

Then
Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My iPod touch 4G will not work after I tried to Downgrade it from iOS 5 to iOS 6. The screen is black and it doesn't work.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
    Try:

    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

  • IPod Touch 2G - WiFi barely works after upgrading to OS 4

After upgrading the firmware on my iPod Touch 2G to iOS 4, I immediately lost all connectivity to WiFi. I have tried just about everything; resetting/restoring everything on the iPod, cycling the router, etc. None of this works. If I stand within a few feet of the router, I receive a weak signal.
I believe the problem lies within inconsistencies of hardware used in the iPod Touch 2G and iOS 4 being designed for slightly newer/updated hardware. This creates an incompatibility.
Any thoughts on how I can get my device functioning properly with WiFi. I'm just at a loss now.

My 2G touch with iOS 4.2.1 continues to operate perfectly on WiFi. The problem could be your router not quite being up to snuff for newer WiFi protocols but I won't rule out a touch problem either. What to do?
    1. Reboot the router (unplug the A/C power for a few seconds)
    2. Reset the touch network settings - tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    3. Log onto your network as if it were a new network - tap Setting > WiFi > Other and re-enter everything.
Those three steps should clear things up. However, if you still have problems, write back and give us more details about your network - router, encryption used, etc.

    Good Afternoon Smsf,
It sounds like you may have tried some, but not all of the steps for troubleshooting your Wi-Fi connection with the iPhone.  I'm curious to know if the issue is happening just in one location (home or work), or if you've tried to get on the internet from a different wireless network.
Give these steps a try in the order given, and let us know if the issue persists.

  • Ipod touch home button not working after upgrade

    Hi,
The home button on my 1st generation ipod touch stopped working after upgrading the software a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone else come across this issue? Is it possible to downgrade the software? I have tried restoring the ipod with no luck.
    Thanks

    HI there,
thanks for the reply. Tried both of what you suggested, also tried the home button thing only working while plugged in with two computers and two different leads which is why I suspect is an operating system thing.
I may try downgrading the operating system next, just have to find a copy of an old one somewhere.
    Cheers,
    Martin

  • IPhone 5s Touch ID is Not working after Update to IOS 8.1

Touch ID on my iPhone 5s cant detect and Save my fingerprint ..... please help ? i hope Apple.inc can fix this Problem as soon as possible

This has happened to me as well, and I discovered a solution that (hopefully) works.
    1. Hold both the sleep/wake and home button for 10 seconds.
    2. Release them both when you see the Apple logo appear.
    3. Attempt to add a fingerprint again.
If this method does not work, try this:
    1. Get a rag or cloth and get it damp, do not overload it with water.
    2. Gently rub the home button from any grime and filth that may be lurking on it.
If none of these methods work, I highly suggest booking an appointment with the Apple Geniuses at your local Apple Store.

  • Touch ID still not working after update 7.1.1

    Hi,
Like many other users, I had issues with the TouchID in 7.1
Just updated to 7.1.1 and the same issues persist.
Not only am I not able to login with my touchID, I am unable to add my fingerprints upon deleting them. It always gets to the end of the first stage (the inner part of the finger) and towards the last 3 lines, it stops progressing no matter how many times I push it until finally it tells me that the finger is not able to be added and to try another finger.
I can try to connect it to the power when I get home to see if that fixes it - though from what I've read on the forums, 7.1.1 is supposed to completely fix the issue? I am still not getting into the phone with any fingerprint (literally not working. 0% success rate).
Anybody else with the same issues?

    Do a
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
Clean the Home button with a soft cloth.
Follow the instruction carefully, remember to use a different angle each time you scan.

  • Yoga 2 Pro wifi not working after update to Windows 10

Hi all, I just updated my brand new Lenovo Yoga 2 (13") from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. But after doing so, I cannot establish any WiFI/W-LAN-connection! If I go to the settings for network adapters in the system settings, I even caanot find the wireless LAN adapter as if it was not installed at all! Can anyone help me? Is there any source for new drivers or something else to fix this? Thanks a lot and best regards from GermanyJohannes

We had the same problem of wi-fi not appearing at all in network connections, with a newly bought Lenovo Yoga 2 13 with Realtek wireless just upgraded to Windows 10, and after a lot of tinkering managed to get it working. We did three things at the same time, which between them fixed it:1. Installed the Intel Chipset drivers for Windows 10 (from Lenovo's support site)2. Did a HARD/FULL SHUTDOWN (hold SHIFT when clicking shutdown), bypassing Windows fast hybrid shutdown.3. Accessed the BIOS, turned Wi-Fi setting in the BIOS off and on and saved settings (there's a button on the side to access the BIOS) I suspect the combination of 1 and 2 fixed it (with the FULL shutdown being key!), because I can't see just accessing the BIOS doing much, but thought I would list all 3 just in case! Sorry for not being more specific, but I hope this helps someone!

  • WiFi not working after update to ios 5.0.1

Original iPad - after restore and set up as new iPad with 5.0 setting bar on left side of screen say "No wifi". Wifi router is fine, all other devices are working, including 2 iPad2s. Have tried to restore and sync with iTunes twice with same results.  Any way to reset?

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Also try this - Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
